Safety Notes

Please note the included General Safety Notes and the following safety notes to avoid malfunctions, damage or physical injury:

  • Please read this manual carefully and use the unit only according to this manual. Special safety precautions must be observed while working with this unit. Keep the manual in a safe place for future use. Failure to observe the operating instructions can be life-threatening.
  • Dispose of used packaging material carefully or store it out of the reach of children. There is a danger of suffocation!
  • It is essential to observe country-specific safety regulations (e.g. those of trade associations, social insurance funds, occupational safety  and health authorities, etc.).
  • Persons with limited physical, sensorial or mental abilities are not allowed to use the unit, unless they are supervised and briefed for their safety by a qualified person. Do not lend or rent the sprayer without the instruction manual. Make sure the person using the sprayer understands the information contained in the manual.
  • For safety reasons, children under 16 as well as persons not familiar with these operating instructions must not use the sprayer. Young people over the age of 16 who are trained under supervision may operate the unit.
  • When spraying, keep uninvolved persons or animals away. Do not spray in the direction of persons and animals.
  • The unit is not a toy and does not belong in the hands of children. Never leave the unit unsupervised when in use. Keep it out of reach of children or persons in need of supervision. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the unit.
  • Make sure to be in good physical condition and mental health when working with the unit. Do not operate the unit after drinking alcohol or under the influence of any medication or drugs, which might impair vision, dexterity or judgment.
  • Do not eat, smoke, or drink while spraying chemicals with the sprayer.
  • Only operate the unit completely assembled.
  • Only use the sprayer if all components are not damaged. Check all parts and make sure they are not leaking.
  • When filling the sprayer, place it on a level surface and make sure it cannot tip over. Do not overfill the container beyond the maximum marking.
  • Do not hold the unit while filling chemicals close to your body. There is risk of injury!
  • After filling the container, fit the cap and tighten it down firmly.
  • When not in use, place the unit in that way, so nobody can be endangered. Always secure the unit against unauthorised access.
  • The sprayer is intended for distributing solvent-free liquid pesticides, herbicides, fertilisers in domestic gardens and backyards to protect the plants against fungal and pest infestations and for weed killing. Areas of application are fruit and vegetable growing, horticulture, plantation cultivation and grassland.
  • Work with the sprayer only outdoors or in well-ventilated rooms (e.g. in an open greenhouse, etc.).
  • It is recommended using pesticides approved by the BBA (German Federal Biological Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry) only, which are available in authorised specialist shops.
  • Do not use it for other purposes, since misuse may result in personal injury or damage to the sprayer.
  • Do not spray acids, disinfectants or impregnators, aggressive and solvent-containing cleaning agents, petrol or spray oil with this sprayer.
  • When spraying plant protection products (insecticides, herbicides and fungicides) and when cleaning the unit, always wear protective equipment according to the directions of the manufacturer of the chemicals and follow their guidelines. For some chemicals it is advisable to wear impermeable coveralls.

The work clothing must fit tightly and must not obstruct. Change work clothing immediately if it is soiled with pesticides. When working overhead, also wear a liquid-tight head covering.

Wear liquid-tight gloves and protective boots with a grippy sole that are insensitive to pesticides. Never work barefoot or only with sandals. To reduce the risk of eye injury, wear tight-fitting goggles and make sure the goggles fit properly. If necessary, wear appropriate respiratory protection to prevent damage to health or allergic reactions. Inhalation of pesticides may be hazardous to health.

  • When handling plant protection agents, read the instructions for use of the plant protection agent before each use and follow all instructions regarding mixing, application, personal protective equipment, storing and disposal of the chemical.
  • Always observe legal regulations when handling plant protection agents. Plant protection products can contain components that can be hazardous for people and animals and damage the environment. There is a danger of poisoning and lifethreatening injuries!
  • Never use liquid concentrates of pesticides undiluted. Only mix and fill pesticides outdoors or in well-ventilated rooms. And, only mix as much pesticide as is needed to avoid residual amounts. Only mix different pesticides with each other if they have been approved by the manufacturer. Note that mixing different non-approved pesticides and incorrect mixing ratios can result in toxic fumes or explosive mixtures.
  • Avoid skin contact with plant protection agents.
  • Pull out the lance completely when operating the sprayer.
  • All operating personnel should be trained and familiarized with the proper handling procedures for the chemical products being used, as well as with first aid emergency care.
  • In case of emergency, have the instructions for use or the label of the plant protection product ready so that you can give the doctor important information about the plant protection product. Observe the manufacturer’s safety data sheets for the chemical used and follow all instructions in an emergency.
  • Do not use the sprayer in high winds. Do not spray into the wind.
  • Do not expose the sprayer to extreme heat.
  • During transport secure the sprayer against tipping over.
  • When transport the sprayer, make sure the container is empty and cleaned.
  • Clean the sprayer with a dry or lightly moistened cloth. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents that might damage the plastics.
  • Do not modify the sprayer. This will lead to injuries or damage to the sprayer.
  • The sprayer does not contain parts serviceable by you. Do not disassemble it and do not attempt to repair it yourself.
  • Store the sprayer in a dry and frost-free room. Remaining liquid in the unit can cause damages and frost might damage the built-in battery.
  • The unit is designed for operation in altitudes of up to 2000 m above sea level.
  • Have the unit serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
  • If the sprayer must be shipped, empty and clean the sprayer thoroughly.

Additional Battery Notes

  • WARNING! Li-Ion batteries, if incorrectly used, stored or charged are a fire, burn and explosion hazard.
  • Do not charge the built-in battery of the spryer outdoors. Always charge the battery indoors.
  • If used incorrectly, liquid may leak from the battery. Avoid contact with it. In case of accidental contact, rinse with water. If the liquid gets into the eyes, seek additional medical attention. Leaking battery fluid may cause skin irritation or burns.

Operation

Intended Use

  • The sprayer is designed for distributing solvent-free liquid pesticides, herbicides, fertilisers, window cleaners, and car wax in domestic gardens and backyards.
  • The sprayer is intended for domestic use and is not designed for commercial, trade or industrial use.

Unpacking and readying the Device

  • Carefully unpack and inspect your sprayer. Familiarise yourself with all its features and functions.
  • Ensure that all parts are present and in good condition. If any parts are missing or damaged, have such parts replaced before attempting to use this device.
  • According to factory-made functional tests, residual humidity can remain in the unit. Residual humidity in a new article is not a fault.
  • Insert the hose into the flange on the unit and secure it with the sleeve nut.
  • The sprayer will be delivered with a USB charging cable. A suitable charger (see Technical Data) is not scope of delivery.

Charging the Battery
WARNING: Li-Ion batteries, if incorrectly used, stored or charged are a fire, burn and explosion hazard.
WARNING: The battery may only be charged indoors. Ensure that the sprayer is protected against rain and moisture.

  1. Connect the included charging cable with the charging port of the unit and a suitable power source (USB port). The built-in LED start flashing during charging process.
  2. When the battery is fully charged, all three LED will light up.
  3.  Disconnect the charger from the sprayer and the power source and store the charging cable correctly

Notes about Battery Charging

  • The built-in battery can be charged with a standard charger for Mobile devices (USB A / Micro USB charging cable).
  • Charging time depends on the used charging cable/charger.
  • The battery should be charged at ambient temperatures between\ 10° C and 40° C (ideally around 20° C).
  • Do not store the battery in a discharged state long term. This can damage the Lithium-Ion cells. Store the battery every three months.

Battery Charge Level
During charging process, the illuminated LED will indicate the charging level.

  1. LED = 0 – 30 %
  2. LED = 30 – 70 %
  3. LED = 70 – 100 %

Operation
To fill the tank, only use the included funnel (12). This prevents the liquid from containing any dirt particles or lumps. And the sieve on the suction hose and the nozzle cannot become clogged. Additionally, the liquid can be filled easily into the container.

  1. To fill the tank, unscrew the motor unit by holding the handle and turn the handle counter clockwise. Take out the motor unit.
    Operation

  2. Place the sprayer on a level surface and make sure it cannot tip over.

  3. Before first use, test the sprayer with clear water to make sure all components are not leaking and functioning properly.

  4. Mix concentrates in a separate measuring cup. Add the necessary amount of water. Be careful while mixing, pouring and handling chemicals.

  5. Fill the mixture into the sprayer tank. The tank capacity is 8 litres. Do not overfill the sprayer tank.

  6. Securely screw on the handle by turning the handle clockwise.

Lever Positions
You can lock the lever in order to prevent accidental spraying. By locking the lever permanently, continuous spraying is possible without pushing the lever continuously.
Operation

  1. If the lever (4) is locked, pull the lever to release the locking position.

  2. For permanent spraying mode, press the lever downwards and push it forward until it stops in this position. The lever engages in this position. Now, you do not have to hold the lever for spraying.

  3. Always pull the lance out completely during use. By doing this, you will have the greatest possible distance to the sprayed liquid. First loosen the lance by unscrewing the sleeve nut, carefully pull out the lance completely. Re-tighten both parts together.
    Operation
    Switch off the device before adjusting the nozzle.

  4. For adjusting the nozzle, turn the nozzle clockwise resp. counter clockwise, depending on the desired spray pattern. The nozzle is designed for misty and for jet-like spraying. Misty spraying is primarily intended for large-scale spraying in proximity. The jet-spray is intended for long distances. With the jet-spray you can spray up to 6 meters.
    Operation

ON/OFF Button

  1. To switch on the sprayer, push the ON/OFF button once. Always hold the sprayer by the handle or use the shoulder strap to carry the sprayer while spraying.
  2. After work, switch off the sprayer by pressing the ON/OFF switch once more. The LED will light up for approx. 20 seconds and switch off thereafter.

Replacing the Hose
When damaged, the hose can be replaced by you. To do so, loosen the sleeve nuts on the flange of the unit and on the handle of the lance. Pull the damaged hose from the flanges and insert the new hose. Secure it with the sleeve nuts. A new hose can be ordered via our customer service. The phone number is stated on the back of this manual.

Hints on Operation

  • Check the sprayer before each use visually for any damages (e.g. leaking) and do not use the unit if obvious defects exist.
  • Do not leave the sprayer unattended for long time when the tank is full.
  • Never try to open the sprayer or to unscrew the nozzle while the device is on. Switch off the device first.
  • Adjust the length of the shoulder strap with the buckles. By doing this, operating the device will be comfortable and fatigue-free. Do not wear the shoulder strap crosswise so that the sprayer can be taken off immediately in an emergency.
  • Unfavourable weather conditions can lead to incorrect concentration of the pesticide. Overdosing can cause damage to plants and the environment. Underdosing does not lead to success in plant treatment.
  • To avoid environmental damage and damage to the plants, do not use the device
    • in windy conditions
    • at temperatures above 40° C in the shade
    • in direct sunlight.
  • In order to avoid damage to the device and accidents, never use the device with
    • flammable liquids
    • viscous or sticky liquids
    • corrosive and acidic agents
    • Liquids warmer than 40° C.
  • Do not expose the device to direct sunlight or heat sources after work, when not in use and while storing.
  • Always move forward slowly when working and observe the nozzle outlet. Do not walk backwards and always look out for obstacles such as rubbish, tree stumps, roots, trenches, etc. There is a risk of tripping!
  • Never spray in the direction of other people, there is a risk of injury!
  • Be careful when working on slippery surfaces, wetness, snow, ice, on slopes, on rough terrain, etc. There is a danger of slipping!
  • Always take breaks in good time to prevent fatigue and exhaustion. There is a risk of accidents!
  • Only work in good lighting and visibility conditions. Be careful not to endanger uninvolved persons.
  • Do not work with the sprayer on a ladder or in unstable locations.
  • When working outdoors and in gardens, take care not to endanger microorganisms.
  • Do not work near live cables. There is a risk of electric shock!
  • Always keep people and animals away from the treated areas. Only allow them to enter the area again after the pesticide has completely dried.
  • Clean the sprayer, hands, face and clothing thoroughly after each end of work.
  • Rinse the container thoroughly several times with clear water when finishing work. Switch on the device for a minute to remove residues.
  • Only use original spare parts.
  • Carry out repair and maintenance work only with the unit completely emptied and cleaned.
  • Attention: The lithium battery may be damaged if you use the device during charging.

Notes on Plant Protection Agents to be used

  • Keep pesticides away from children and animals.
  • Make sure that the pesticides are completely dissolved in water before the mixture is poured into the tank. Otherwise, the undissolved granules or solids may clog the nozzle.
  • Never store pesticides in the container for more than one day.
  • Store the plant protection agent and the device in such a way that they are secured against unauthorised access.
  • Do not store pesticides in containers intended for food, beverages or animal feed. Do not store pesticides in the vicinity of food, beverages and animal feed.
  • Only transport plant protection agents in approved containers out of the reach of children and animals.
  • Clean the device thoroughly if you want to spray different plant protection agents in a sequence.
  • Empty and clean the container only in a well-ventilated place.
  • When cleaning the container and the accessories, make sure that nobody is endangered by residues of escaping liquid. There is a risk of injury!

Disposal

  • Dispose of pesticides in an environmentally friendly manner according to the regulations. Observe the instructions on the packaging of the plant protection agent.
  • Do not dispose of residues of pesticides and rinsing liquids from the unit in water, drains, drainage ditches and street ditches, shafts, drainage systems, etc.

Cleaning, Transport and Storing

  • Clean the housing with a damp cloth. Do not use chemical cleanin agents that contain aggressive substances, as these can damage the plastic housing.
  • Never clean the device with a high-pressure water jet (e.g. a highpressure cleaner).
  • Fill the container with clean water and switch on for one minute to remove any residue.
  • Clean the nozzle and the sieve thoroughly under running water. Reassemble all parts. Never blow out the nozzle or other small parts with your mouth.
  • Store the device emptied and cleaned.
  • Store the device in a dry place away from dust and dirt, out of reach of children.
  • Store the unit in a frost-proof place as the built-in battery may be damaged.
  • During storage, charge the battery at least once every three months to protect it from damage.
  • After each winter break, test the device with clean water to ensure that the sprayer is not leaking and functions properly.
