Product Information: nVent RAYCHEM E-150
The nVent RAYCHEM E-150 is a low profile end seal kit used with nVent RAYCHEM BTV-, QTVR-, XTV-, and KTV-heating cables. It is rated for a voltage of 277V and a current of 40A. The maximum surface temperature depends on the configuration of the Trace Heating system, determined in accordance with IEC/IEEE 60079-30-1. The product has hazardous location certifications from DEKRA and IECEx DEK, and is suitable for use in Class I Zone 2 AEx e IIC T*, Class I, Div. 2, Groups A, B, C, D, Class II, Div. 2, Groups F, G, and Class III hazardous locations.

During installation of the nVent RAYCHEM E-150 kit, it is important to prevent water ingress. The maximum surface temperature depends on the configuration of the Trace Heating system, determined in accordance with IEC/IEEE 60079-30-1. The installation instructions for the low profile end seal kit should be followed carefully for use with all nVent RAYCHEM BTV-, QTVR-, XTV-, and KTV- heating cables. WARNING: The purchaser should make the manufacturer aware of any external
effects or aggressive substances that the equipment may be exposed to.
WARNING: To prevent electrical shock or fire, this product must be
installed correctly. Water ingress must be avoided before and during the
installation. De-energise circuits before installation or servicing. Maximum
nominal current rating of over-current protection: 40 A. Persons involved in
the installation and testing of elec-tric trace heating systems shall be
suitably trained in all special techniques required. Installation shall be
carried out under the supervision of a qualified person Ground fault equipment
protection must be used on each heating cable circuit as arcing may not be
stopped by conventional circuit breakers. Before installing this product, read
the instructions com plete ly. Keep ends of trace heaters and kit components
dry before and during installation The electrically conductive covering
(braid) of the heating cable shall be connected to a suitable earthing
terminal. The presence of the heating cables shall be made evident by the
posting of caution signs or markings at appropriate locations and/or at
frequent intervals along the circuit The insulation resistance of the heating
cable shall be measured and recorded after installation and shall not be less
than 20 MOhm (or a higher value if specified by the manufacturer). Avoid skin
and eye contact with sealing grease. Consult nVent RAYCHEM safety datasheet
VEN 0058, (INSTALL-027).
