Product Information
The styler/dryer is a versatile hair drying and styling system that can be used with or without attachments. It has a unique hinged filter, styling comb, dual voltage setting, cool shot button, and 2 heats/2 speeds. The detangling & styling comb and bristle styling brush attachments are available for purchase at $3.50 each. The appliance has a polarized plug and a built-in ALCI (Appliance Leakage Circuit Interrupter) for safety.

Important Safety Measures

  • Do not use the appliance if it is damaged, has a damaged cord or plug or if it malfunctions.
  • Keep the appliance away from water and do not immerse it in water.
  • Do not use the appliance while sleeping or in the presence of sleeping individuals.
  • Do not use the appliance outdoors or near combustible materials.
  • Always test the ALCI before each use and do not use the appliance if the ALCI is not functioning properly.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Plug in the appliance and press the test button on the plug to ensure the ALCI is functioning properly.
  2. Select the desired heat/speed setting for your hair type using the dual voltage setting, 2 heats/2 speeds buttons.
  3. Attach the detangling & styling comb or bristle styling brush if desired.
  4. Use the cool shot button to set your style.
  5. Keep your hair away from the appliance during use and do not block the air vents. Keep the vents clean and free of debris.
  6. Do not use the appliance with a voltage converter.
  7. If the appliance malfunctions, unplug it and allow it to cool before attempting to reset. If the appliance still does not function properly, return it to a Conair service center for examination and repair.
    By following these instructions and safety measures, you can effectively and safely use the styler/dryer to achieve your desired hair style.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, especially when children are present, basic safety precautions should always be taken, including the following:

DANGER – Any hair dryer is electrically live even when the switch is off: To reduce the risk of death or injury by electric shock.

  1. ALWAYS UNPLUG APPLIANCE IMMEDIATELY AFTER USING.
  2. Do not use while bathing or in the shower.
  3. Do not place or store appliance where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink.
  4. Do not place in, or drop into water or other liquids.
  5. If an appliance falls into water, unplug it immediately. Do not reach into the water.

WARNING – To reduce the risk of burns, electrocution, fire, or injury to persons:

  1. This appliance should never be left un attended when plugged in.

  2. This appliance should not be used by, on, or near children or individuals with certain dis-abilities.

  3. Use this appliance only for its intended use as described in this manual. Do not use attach-ments not recommended by the manufacturer.

  4. Never operate this appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped, damaged, or dropped into water. Return the appli- ance to a Conair service center for examination and repair.

  5. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces. Do not pull, twist, or wrap line cord around dryer, even during storage.

  6. Never block the air openings of the appli-ance or place it on a soft surface, such
    as a bed or couch, where the air openings may be blocked. Keep the air openings free of lint, hair, and the like.

  7. Never use while sleeping.

  8. Never drop or insert any object into any opening or hose.

  9. Do not use outdoors or operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is being administered.

  10. Do not use an extension cord to operate dryer.

  11. Do not direct hot air toward eyes or other heat-sensitive areas.

  12. Attachments may be hot during use. Allow them to cool before handling.

  13. Do not place appliance on any surface while it is operating.

  14. While using the appliance, keep your hair out of it. Keep your hair away from the air inlets.

  15. Do not use with a voltage converter.

  16. This appliance is not a toy. Keep away from children.
    For a dual-voltage hair dryer:

  17. Be sure dual-voltage selector is in correct voltage position before operating. Before plugging in, read the information about dual-voltage contained in the Additional Information section of this manual.

  18. This appliance was set at the factory to operate at 125 volts. Refer to Additional Information section of this manual for con-version to 250-volt operation.
    SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
    OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
    This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.

IMPORTANT
1875 WATT OPERATING GUIDE

Use of any 1875 watt dryer on the same circuit or fuse with other electrical products or appliances may trip a 15 amp circuit breaker or blow a 15 amp fuse.
NEVER replace the fuse with one rated higher than the capacity of the circuit. Doing so could result in an electrical fire.
CHECK ALCI SAFETY FEATURE EVERY TIME YOU USE APPLIANCE.
This appliance is equipped with an Appliance Leakage Circuit Interrupter (ALCI), a safety feature that renders it inoperable under some abnormal conditions, such as immersion in water. To make sure the ALCI is functioning properly, perform the following test. The purpose of this test is to allow you to make sure the water sensing system (ALCI) is working.

  1. Plug in the appliance and press test button on plug.

  2. The appliance will stop working. There will be an audible click and reset button will pop out. This indicates the ALCI is functioning properly.

  3. To reset ALCI, unit should be unplugged. Then push reset button in, and reinsert plug into outlet.

  4. If ALCI is not functioning properly, return appliance to nearest service center.

  5. It is important that if immersion occurs, this unit be brought to a service center. Do not try to reset.

  6. Be sure to repeat test every time you use the unit to confirm ALCI is operational.

Should the appliance go off and the reset button pop up during use, this could indicate a malfunction in the unit. Remove plug from outlet and allow the appliance to cool. Reinsert plug into outlet.
The appliance should function normally. If not, return to a Conair service center for examina-tion and repair.

SUPER STYLING GUIDE
Your best looks begin with a good haircut that’s well maintained. Always treat hair right with superior quality shampoos, conditioners, and finishing products.

BRUSH/COMB ATTACHMENT STYLING BASICS & INSTRUCTIONS
Shampoo and condition hair with products of your choice. Gently towel-blot hair to remove excess moisture. Part hair into sections. Follow the instructions to achieve your desired style. NOTE: To prevent overdrying, reduce setting to LOW when hair is almost dry.

FOR STRAIGHTENING OR RELAXING
Select the brush attachment and set dryer on HIGH speed. Hold dryer securely in one hand and use brush to firmly grasp a section of hair at roots. Roll hair around brush with one turn of your wrist, then pull downward. Continue process until hair is dry. Repeat the above with each hair section.

FOR EXTRA VOLUME AND DETANGLING
Select the detangling comb attachment and set dryer on LOW speed. Hold dryer securely in one hand and use a natural combing action to fluff hair, beginning at the roots. Move from section to section until hair is dry.

FOR CREATING FULLNESS
Select the brush attachment and set dryer on HIGH speed. Starting at the nape of the neck, first lift hair up and away from the scalp with the brush, then rotate the brush downward to the ends. Move from section to section until hair is dry.
