KIT CLASSICS

Relive the Golden Years of model railroading with Kit Classics™ freight car kits. When you assemble these simple kits, you’ll rediscover fond memories of power packs, sectional track, shake-the-box kits, and dreams of creating your own model railroad empire. Kit Classics freight cars are perfect for sharing this timeless tradition with the next generation of model railroaders. All that’s needed for assembly is a Phillips screwdriver, glue, and a few minutes to build. The Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad’s Havelock Shops built 200 GM-6A 52’6” 2566 cu. ft. Gondolas carsbetween 1967 and 1968 outside Lincoln, Nebraska. They were designed with a top chord between the grab irons and a flat sill plate between the bolsters. The gondolas were initially used to transport aluminum, steel, and tin coil loads but were later used for general service. The colorful freight cars wore bright “Chinese Red” paint with billboard lettering and were numbered CB&Q 83400-83599. Later, they became BN 577400-577599 and finally BNSF 577400- 577599.

  1. Sharp hobby knife
  2. Small Phillips screwdriver
  3. Hobby glue for bonding plastic parts
  4. Small tweezers
  • STEP 1 Place the two weights inside the under side of the body. Place the underframe into the body. Note that in the center section of the underframe there is an end with four small holes and at the opposite end there are only two.
