Installation Instructions

Only a qualified heating engineer should install this product.

  1. Locate a suitable section of your boiler’s flow pipe for the air-separator to be installed, allowing for access and servicing. The Airliminator should always be installed on the flow from the boiler. If in doubt contact for further advice.
  2. Isolate heating system and drain down
  3. Mark the pipe, using a suitable pencil or marker pen and cut out the marked section and remove burrs.
  4. Fit the diverter onto the sections of cut pipe, ensuring the arrow direction on the part follows the heating system flow.
  5. Tighten the compression nuts to ensure a watertight seal.
  6. Fit the Airliminator body to the diverter by hand tightening the retaining ring (Do not over tighten). The Airliminator body must be installed vertically.
  7. Refill the heating system ensuring that the correct amount of corrosion inhibitor is added.
  8. Vent as required by using the Top Air Bleed Valve.

Annual Servicing Requirement

To get the best out of your Airliminator, an annual check is recommended.

  1. Remove vent cap, and test vent pin until system liquid passes.
  2. If the system fluid is clear, and the magnetic system filter (if fitted) is serviced and found to be satisfactory, no further servicing is required.
  3. If however the system is heavily soiled, we recommend that it should be drained to allow the Airliminator body to be removed from the system and checked for build-up of sludge/debris.
  4. Once drained, unscrew the top section of the body to remove the float assembly and clean, taking care not to damage any components or seals.
  5. Open the base cap to remove and check the stainless steel particulate filter.
  6. Rinse down both of the removed pieces, ensuring any sludge/debris is disposed of correctly.
  7. Check seals for damage and re-assemble
  8. Re-attach the body to the diverter and refill the system in compliance with BS7593:2019.
  9. Vent the Airliminator once filled to check operation.
WARNING: Please observe the safety instructions provided in this document. This Care and attention should be taken at all times during installation and servicing.

Troubleshooting

Problem 1: Water is leaking from the vent cap
Solution: Turn off the system, isolate the Airliminator, and:

  • Float arm and pin for debris
  • Check all seals.
  • Check the isolation valve nuts to ensure they are fully tightened.
  • Check the diverter retaining ring is firmly tightened and not cross threaded.

Problem 2: Poor flow through the Airliminator
Solution: Clean the particulate filter when reduced flow is noted.
