Or ask your dealer for a suitable power cord
Mains voltage
Please check the mains voltage indication at the back of the unit.
- For 100Vac to 120Vac, use the 115Vac setting
- For 220Vac to 240Vac, use the 230Vac setting

PHONO / LINE INPUT SELECTION
- The Phono/Aux. Input can be configured for phono level input or for normal line level input.
- Default the selection is made for line level.
- To change the selection, the unit must be opened.
- If you do not feel confident about making the selection by yourself, please ask your dealer to make this selection.
CAUTION: The power-cord must be removed before opening the unit!
Removing the cover
- Place the unit horizontal on a flat surface.
- Remove the two top screws as in the drawing. Use the supplied Allen wrench.
ALPS is a trademark of the ALPS ELECTRIC CO. LTD.
- Remove the top cover.
- At the back a jumper selection is available for the left and the right channel.
For phono input
- Mount a jumper between 1-2 and 3-4 for Phono input selection.
- This selection must be done both for the left and right channel.
For Line input
- Mount a jumper between 2-3 and 4-5 for Line input selection.
- This selection must be done both for the left and right channel.
After making the selection the cover can be replaced.
CONNECTION
Connect the amplifier inputs to the different sources. Use good quality audio leads. Respect the Left and Right channels. Connect the output to a suitable stereo power amplifier or two mono amplifiers (e.g. our 4020, 4040, or 2x 8010) . Connect the power-cord to the mains connector. Check for correct mains voltage.
- At first time power up, or after a mains voltage failure, the +6dB LED will lit together with the standby/mute LED.
- Line level is an source with voltages between 150mV and 2V.
OPERATION
CAUTION: Before turning on the power amplifier(s) turn down the volume control.
- The +6dB function can be used to adjust the level between the different sources. That way, when switching over between sources the volume will approximately remain the same.
When the power-cord is disconnected or after a power failure the memory will be erased.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Symptom/ Possible cause
- No sound coming from the speakers: Mute is on, press standby/mute button. The power amplifier is turned off. Wrong source is selected.
- +6dB memory is erased: A power failure has occurred. The power-cord has been disconnected.
- Distorted sound at phono/aux input: Input is wrongly configured.
- Hum or noise is coming from the speakers: To make sure the control amplifier is the source of hum, disconnect all input leads. Use good quality audio leads. Check the earth connection of the phono or mains. The control amplifier is too close to the power amplifier or too close to other magnetic field like a power adapter or other mains operated unit.
- No button is reacting anymore and/or no LED indication is functioning anymore: Static electricity or lightning can cause malfunction of the unit. Disconnect the power-cord for about 10 seconds, this will reset the internal processor. Check the mains fuse, replace only with indicated rating. A spare fuse is located in the fuse holder.
- The tape recorder, MD, CDR… is not receiving a signal: The monitor function is not engaged, press the desired input once again to engage the monitor output.
