Illustrations
The illustrations referred to in the text are shown on the fold-out pages at
the end of these operating instructions.
Turbo brush features
The Turbo brush is operated by the suction power of the vacuum cleaner. It has
a rotating roller brush which is very effective at picking up thread, hairs
and fluff. Four rollers maintain the brush 1.5 mm away from the floor.
Recommended use
The Turbo brush should not be used for vacuuming deep-pile rugs and carpets or
valuable hand-knotted rugs and carpets, e.g. Persian and oriental rugs etc.
There is a danger of the threads being pulled out.
Do not use the Turbo brush to clean highly textured or uneven floors. The
brush might come into contact with the floor and cause damage.
The Turbo brush is particularly suitable for vacuuming thread and hair from
cut pile carpeting.
The standard floorhead or one of the Miele floor brushes should be used for
cleaning hard floors.
It is also important to observe the flooring manufacturer’s cleaning and care
instructions.
Using the Turbo brush
- To achieve the best effect, pass the Turbo brush slowly backwards and forwards over the carpet or floor covering.
For carpets with fringes always draw the Turbo brush from the carpet across the fringe towards the rest of the floor.
Fitting the Turbo brush (dia. 01)
- Instead of the usual floor attachment, fit the Turbo brush to the suction tube by twisting it to the left and right. Ensure that the locking device engages.
To open the air inlet valve (dia. 02)
The brush is operated by the suction power of the vacuum cleaner. With deeper,
dense pile carpets the roller brush may rotate more slowly. This is caused by
the carpet pile creating a seal around the mouth of the Turbo brush and
hindering the flow of air. This will affect how well the carpet is brushed.
- To increase the airflow, open the air inlet valve (top illustration). In all other situations the air inlet valve should be closed, to benefit from the full suction power.
- Close the air inlet valve (bottom illustration).
Maintenance
Always disconnect the vacuum cleaner from the electrical supply for cleaning and maintenance work on the Turbo brush. Switch off at the wall socket and remove the plug.
Removing threads and hairs (dia. 03)
- Use scissors to cut any threads or hairs which have wound around the roller brush. There is a groove on the roller to guide you.
Then run the vacuum cleaner to vacuum up the bits.
