Miele STB101 Handheld Turbo brush
Warning and Safety instructions
This Turbo brush complies with current safety requirements. Inappropriate use
can, however, lead to personal injury and damage to property.
To avoid the risk of accidents and damage to the Turbo brush and to the vacuum
cleaner, please read these instructions and those of the vacuum cleaner
carefully before using for the first time.
Keep these instructions in a safe place and ensure that new users are familiar
with the content. Pass them on to any future owner.
Always disconnect the vacuum cleaner from the mains supply when you have
finished using it, before changing over accesso‐ries, as well as for
maintenance work and cleaning. Switch the vacuum cleaner off at the wall
socket and unplug it.
Correct application
- The Turbo brush must only be used for household purposes to vacuum and brush dry floor surfaces. Do not use on people or animals. Any other use, modification or alteration to the Turbobrush is at the owner’s risk and could be dangerous.
- The vacuum cleaner and Turbo brush can only be used by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience or knowledge, if they are supervised whilst using them or have been shown how to use them in a safe way and understand and recognise the consequences of incorrect operation.
Safety with children
- Children under 8 years of age must be kept away from the vacuum cleaner and Turbo brush unless they are constantly supervised.
- Children 8 years and older may only use the vacuum cleaner and
- Turbobrush unsupervised if they have been shown how to use them safely and recognise and understand the consequences of incorrect operation.
- Children must not be allowed to clean or maintain the vacuum cleaner and Turbo brush unsupervised.
- Please supervise children in the vicinity of the vacuum cleaner and Turbo brush and do not let them play with them.
Technical safety
- Before using the Turbo brush, check for any visible signs of dam‐age. Do not use a damaged Turbo brush.
- Do not immerse the Turbo brush in water. Clean all parts with a dry
or slightly damp cloth only.
Correct use
- Never touch the roller brush while it is rotating.
- Do not use the Turbo brush at head level.
- Keep the Turbo brush away from curtains, clothing, etc. as these could be vacuumed in and become entangled in the roller brush.
- Do not use the Turbo brush to vacuum hard surfaces such as furniture doors, wood or stone flooring.
- Do not vacuum up any inflammable or combustible liquids or gases and do not vacuum in areas where such substances are stored.
- Do not vacuum any surfaces where there is a danger of items being sucked up or becoming entangled in the roller brush.
- Do not vacuum up any water, liquid or damp dirt. Wait until any freshly cleaned or shampooed carpets or floor coverings are completely dry before attempting to vacuum.
- Do not vacuum up anything which has been burning or is still glowing e.g. cigarettes, ashes or coal, whether glowing or apparently extinguished.
Miele cannot be held liable for damage caused by incorrect use or operation or by non-compliance with these Warning and Safety in‐structions.

Turbobrush features
The Turbobrush is operated by the suc‐tion power of the vacuum cleaner. It has
a rotating roller brush which is very effective at vacuuming up thread, hair
and fluff.
When using the Turbo brush please also observe the warning and safety
instructions in your vacuum cleaner instruction manual.
This Turbo brush is particularly suitable for vacuuming upholstery,
mattresses, car seats and carpeted stairs.
It is also important to observe the flooring manufacturer’s cleaning and care
instructions.
Fitting the Turbobrush
Connect the Turbo brush to the handle or suction tube on your vacuum cleaner
depending on how you wish to use it.
Using the Turbo brush
To achieve the best effect, pass the Turbo brush slowly backwards and forwards
over the surface being vacuumed.
Maintenance
Always disconnect the vacuum cleaner from the electrical supply for cleaning and maintenance work on the Turbo brush. Switch off at the wall socket and unplug it.
Removing threads and hairs

Cut any threads or hairs that have become entangled on the roller brush with a pair of scissors. Then run the vacuum cleaner to vacuum up the bits.
For more obstinate tangles or block‐ages inside the Turbo brush, the cover can be opened. Any large particles can then be easily removed . -
Twist the connector until the release button is located in the centre of the slot A.

Then press release button B and pull the connector away from the Turbo‐brush C .

Open up the brush compartment as far as you can and then remove any stubborn soiling from the compartment interior and from the roller brush

Finally close the cover to the brush compartment and push the connector back into position over the release button.
