Installation
- Install rear bearing flange (item 2110) with thrust washer (item 746), oil pump (item 2020) and oiled gaskets.
- Install front bearing flange (item 2140) with with thrust washer (item 2250) and oiled gasket.
- Pay attention to the correct installation position of the thrust washer, coated surface in direction of crankshaft!
- Adjust axial clearance on the front bearing flange (item 2140) accordingly.
- Tighten screws crosswise in two steps! Observe the tightening torques!
INFO Adjust axial clearance! See figure 1.
The axial clearance of the crankshaft should be min. 0.1 mm (F76) resp. min. 0.2 mm (F18, F88) and max. 0.75 mm. When parts of the driving gear of the compressor have been repaired or replaced, an accurate measurement of the axial clearance is necessary. The measurement has to be at the disassembly shaft seal cover. If the end play is larger than 0.75 mm, the thrust washer (item. 2250) has to be replaced by a thicker thrust washer (3.0 mm instead of 2.5 mm, included in the kit).
