Safety information
General
- Please read these instructions carefully and retain them for reference.
- Use this appliance solely in accordance with these instructions.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- Have any repairs carried out solely by a qualified electrician. Never try to repair the appliance yourself.
Electricity and heat
- Before use please verify that the mains voltage is the same as indicated on the rating plate of the appliance.
- Make sure that you always use an earthed wall socket to connect the appliance.
- Always remove the plug from the mains socket before moving the appliance and when the appliance is not in use.
- Remove the plug from the wall socket by pulling the plug, not the power cord.
- Check the appliance’s power cord regularly to make sure it is not damaged. Do not use the appliance if the power cord is damaged. Have a damaged power cord replaced by a qualified repair service.
- Certain parts of the appliance may get hot. Do not touch these parts to prevent burning yourself.
- The appliance needs space to allow heat to escape, thereby preventing the risk of fire. Make sure that the appliance has sufficient space around it, and does not come in contact with flammable material. The appliance must not be covered.
- Make sure that the appliance, the power cord or the plug do not make contact with hot services, such as a hot hob or naked flame.
- Make sure that the appliance, the power cord and plug do not make contact with water.
During use
- Never use the appliance outdoors.
- Place the appliance on a flat, stable surface.
- Always remove the plug from the wall socket after use, and before cleaning the appliance.
- Never allow the power cord to hang over the edge of the draining board, worktop or table.
- Make sure that your hands are dry before touching the appliance, power cord or plug.
- Never use the appliance in a humid room.
- Never immerse the appliance, the plug or the power cord in water or other liquid.
- Do not pick up the appliance if it falls into water. Remove the plug from the wall socket immediately and do not use the appliance any more.
- Use solely the base supplied with the jug kettle. Never use the base for other purposes.
- Remove the jug from the base, and fill with water from the tap. Never fill the jug above the ‘max’ level.
- Do not switch on the appliance before you have filled it with water. Fill only with cold water.
- The jug’s lid must remain securely closed whilst the appliance is in use.
- Never open the lid when the water is still boiling.
- Use the appliance only to boil or heat water. Never use it for other liquids!
- Fill the jug kettle with at least 0,5 litre of water.
- Allow the appliance to cool to room temperature before storage
- This appliance may not be used through an external timer or by means of a remote control.

Before use for the first time
Before first use, remove possible manufacturing process residues by boiling 3
full kettles of water. Dispose this water.
Tip: You can use vinegar or special descaling agents for the first time.
Use

Turn the jug so that the spout faces away from you.

Pull up the handle to open the lid (3).

Fill the jug with the required quantity of water (at least 0,5 litres, and a maximum of 1.7 litres). Never fill the water boiler over the “max”. Otherwise the hot water can spatter out of the base.
ATTENTION
Make sure that you do not spill any water on the base. -
Release the button to open the lid.

Place the jug on the base, and insert the plug in the wall socket. Push down the on/off switch. The on/off pilot light will illuminate.

The jug kettle is now switched on, and the water will now begin to heat. The jug kettle switches off automatically a few seconds after the water has come to the boil. The on/off pilot light will now extinguish.

Remove the jug from the base by the handle, and pour the water out.
ATTENTION
Be carefully you do not contact the hot water. It can cause serious burning wounds -
When you wish to heat the water without it coming to the boil you can switch off the jug kettle at any time you require.

Remove the plug from the wall socket when you have finished using the jug kettle.
Overheating safeguard
The jug kettle is fitted with an overheating safeguard. This will switch off
the jug kettle if it is operated without (sufficient) water. Allow the jug
kettle to cool down for at least 10 minutes before using it again.
Cleaning and maintenance
- Remove the plug from the wall socket, and allow the appliance to cool.
- Clean the jug with a damp cloth. Never immerse the appliance in water. Never put the appliance in a dishwasher. Make sure that the electrical connections do not become damp.
- If the interior of the jug has become severely discoloured, then the best way to clean it is with a damp cloth and a little washing soda. After cleaning, rinse the jug very thoroughly.
ATTENTION
- Never use corrosive or scouring cleaning agents or sharp objects (such as knives or hard brushes) to clean the appliance.
- Before cleaning, make sure that the appliance is not connected to the power supply and that it has cooled down.
Descaling
This appliance is equipped with an integral heating element, and consequently limescale will not be formed. Consequently you do not need to descaled the appliance. However, if you nevertheless do wish to descale the appliance:
- Remove the plug from the wall socket, and allow the appliance to cool.
- The jug kettle is fitted with a descaling filter. This filter must be removed for cleaning.
- Fill the jug with a vinegar solution to the MAX level, and bring to the boil.
- Leave the jug with the vinegar solution to stand for a couple of hours.
- Empty the jug, fill with clean water to the MAX level, and bring to the boil. Empty the jug. Repeat this process twice.
- Never use ammonia or other products to descale the appliance. These can be injurious to your health. Use solely a vinegar solution, or special descaling agents available from retailers.

lnnoteck warranty, subject to conditions stated below, that from the date of purchase, this product will be free from mechanical defects for a period of ONE(1)year. lnnoteck, at its option and with an accompanying receipt, will repair or replace this product found to be defective during the warranty period. Should this product become defective by reason of improper workmanship or material defect during the warranty period of one year from the date of purchase listed on the receipt. If product is no longer available we will replace it with a product of equal value. Transportation charges of parts, or products in whole, submitted for repair or replacement, under this warranty must be borne by the purchaser. This product is void if the product is used for other than single-family household use or subjected to any voltage and wave form other than as specified on the product rating label (eg, 220V – SOHz) This warranty is available to consumers only. You are a consumer if you own a lnnotek that was purchased at retail for personal, family or household use. Except as otherwise under applicable law, this warranty is not available to retailers or other commercial purchasers or owners.
Conditions
This warranty is valid for the original UK retail purchaser from the date of the initial purchase and is not transferable. Keep the original sales receipt. Proof of purchase is required to obtain warranty service or replacement. Service centres or retail stores do not have the right to alter, modify or in any way, change the terms and conditions of this warranty. Warranty registration is not necessary to obtain warranty on lnnoteck products. Please save your proof of purchase.
About your Warranty
Most warranty repairs are handled routinely, but sometimes requests for warranty service may not be appropriate. For example, warranty service would NOT apply if the product damage occurred because of misuse, lack of routine maintenance, shipping, handling, 3rd party warehousing or improper installation. Similarly, the warranty is void if the manufacturing date or the serial number on the product has been removed or the equipment has been altered or modified. During the warranty period, the authorised service dealer, at its option, will repair or replace any part that, upon examination, is found to be defective under normal use and service.
Normal Wear
This warranty does not cover normal wear of any parts or damage resulting from any of the following negligent use or misuse of this product: improper voltage or current; use contrary to the operation instructions; deviation from the instructions regarding storage and transportation; repair or alteration by anyone other than lnnotek or an authorised service centre. Further the warranty does not cover Acts of God, such as fire, flood, hurricanes or tornadoes. lnnotek shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages caused by the breach of any express or implied warranty. Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for the particular purpose is limited in duration to the to the duration of the above warranty. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights as stated in the UK Consumer rights laws that may vary slightly.
How to obtain Warranty Service
If your lnnotek product should prove to be defective within the warranty period, we will repair or replace the item. To obtain the warranty simply go to www.innoteck.co.uk and register on line. The communication must be accompanied by a copy of the original purchase receipt in order for warranty to be valid.
