WHAT IS THE STORY AND TECHNOLOGY BEHIND “NEVER LOSES SUCTION”?

Never Loses Suction is an advanced cyclonic technology that separates fine dirt from the air, preventing dirt from clogging the filters and keeping suction power strong. Over time, the filters stay cleaner longer, resulting in steady suction and airflow. This means the Shark Lift-Around maintains its suction power so you never lose cleaning power.

WHAT ARE THE LIFETIME FILTERS?

“Lifetime Filters” – Shark® Lift-Around” comes with washable filters that will last the life of your vacuum, with minimal maintenance and zero replacement costs. Your filters will discolor over time but will not affect the performance of the filters.

WHAT IS MAXIMUM DIRT CAPACITY FOR THE DUST CUP CONTAINER?

The dust cup holds 0.6 dry quarts (to the fill line) and 1.7 dry quarts (real usable capacity). It has an easy, bottom-empty design for quick removal of debris. The top door can be released to clean the upper compartment of the dust cup.

HOW TO STORE THE VACUUM SAFELY?

Store the dusting brush, upholstery brush, the crevice tool or the power brush on the mounts on the removable tool caddy. Wrap the flexible hose around the base of the vacuum and hook the end of the flexible hose into the hose dock. To release the hose, press the Hose Storage button. Wrap the attached cord strap around the power cord when storing. Store your vacuum cleaner with the rest of the accessories safely in a cool dry area where they will not be a hazard, will not get damaged and will not cause damage to anyone or anything.

NOTE : Empty dust cup after cleaning and prior to storing. (See “Care Instructions” section for instructions.)

HOW DO I REMOVE THE DUST CUP?

Press the dust cup release button and remove the dust cup from the vacuum.

HOW DO I ASSEMBLE THE UNIT?

Insert the end of the flexible hose into the connector on the back of the unit. Align arrows to attach the removable tool caddy onto the front of the unit. (To remove the tool caddy, hold the vacuum by the handle, pull out slightly from the right side and then remove it from the unit). Insert the crevice tool, dusting brush, upholstery brush or power brush into the openings on the tool caddy. Attach the shoulder strap onto the hooks on the handle of the unit.

HOW DO I ADD AN EXTENDED CLEANING REACH?

Attach the floor kit handle to the flexible hose. Push it in until it is secure. Insert the telescopic tube into the end of the floor kit handle. Push it in until it is secure.

NOTE : All accessories may be used with the flexible hose, the floor kit handle or the telescopic tube. Attach the desired accessory to the end of the flexible hose, floor kit handle or telescopic tube by pushing it in until it is tightly secured.

HOW DO I TURN THE POWER ON/OFF?

While holding the Portable Vac by the handle, press down on the power button to turn the Portable Vac on and begin vacuuming. Press down again to turn the vacuum off.

HOW DO I ASSEMBLE THE MICRO-FIBER PAD TO THE DUST-AWAY” HARD FLOOR

ATTACHMENT?

To assemble your Dust-Away” hard floor attachment, first place the pad fluffy side out across the bottom of the tool and wrap the tabs up and around to the top and secure with velcro. For best results, you’ll want to make sure the pad is stretched tight and flat across the bottom surface and attached securely.

HOW DO I USE THE DUST-AWAY” ATTACHMENT TO CLEAN BARE FLOORS?

To begin cleaning with your Dust-Away” hard floor attachment, attach the Dust- Away hard floor tool with micro-fiber pad to the end of the telescopic tube. This attachment works well at picking up the finest of dust on all bare floors including wood floors, tiles, linoleum. Note that the floors should be dry before beginning.

HOW DO I CLEAN THE DUST-AWAY” MICRO-FIBER PAD?

Wash the pad separately with warm water either in the washing machine or by hand using liquid detergent. Do not use bleach or fabric softeners as they may damage or leave a coating that will reduce the cleaning performance of the pads. Tumble dry low or line dry to extend the life of the micro-fiber fabric. For best floor cleaning results, we recommend replacing your micro-fiber pads every 3-4 months following normal use.

WHICH TOOLS STORE ON THE REMOVABLE TOOL CADDY?

The removable tool caddy is specially designed to hold the crevice tool, dusting brush, upholstery brush or power brush so you have quick access to these at your fingertips.

WHERE DO I STORE THE OTHER TOOLS?

The telescopic tube, floor kit handle, straight suction nozzle and other tools can be stored in the accessory bag to allow you to keep all your tools together for added convenience. The accessory bag is not included with this unit. However, it can be purchased separately on this website or through customer service at 1-800-798-7398.

HOW DO I EMPTY THE DUST CUP?

Option A: for Quick Empty: Insert the Dust Cup deep inside a trash receptacle to contain the dust and debris. Press the bottom door release button to release the trap door. Tap gently to empty contents or wipe clean with a soft cloth. Press the door shut again until it clicks.

Option B: For Allergy Sufferers: Wrap a trash bag around the Dust Cup leaving space at the bottom for the door to swing open. Locate the bottom door release button within the trash bag and press to release as you shake the dust cup to empty dust and debris. Press the door shut again until it clicks.

Note: Option B can also be performed outside of the home to further minimize releasing dust back into the air. Carry just the dust cup and trash bag outside. Check to make sure the trap door is secure before returning it to the Vacuum. To clean the upper compartment of the dust cup, press the top door release button to open. Empty the contents over a trash receptacle and push the door shut until it clicks into

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I WASH THE FILTERS?

For optimal performance, it is recommended to clean filters regularly. Between washings, your filter can be tapped clean to knock any excess dust and other particles into the waste basket. ”

Pre-Motor Foam Filter: Under normal usage, rinse and let air dry completely (for 24 hours) every month. ” Pre-Motor Felt Filter: Under normal usage rinse and let air dry completely (for 24 hours) every month. ” Post-Motor HEPA filter: Under normal usage, clean once every 24 months or as needed.

Note: Loss of Suction may occur if foam filter is not cleaned every month. Rinse and allow to air dry completely. Tap loose dirt from foam filter as needed in between washing. Foam filter may appear dirty after use – this is normal.

HOW DO I CLEAN THE POST-MOTOR HEPA FILTERS?

Remove the tool caddy from the front of the unit. Remove the filter cover from the front of the vacuum by pulling up on the tab and pulling the cover away from the vacuum. Take out the HEPA filter by pulling it straight out.Turn the filter over so that the dirty side is on the bottom and vigorously tap it clean against a garbage can to remove any dust. Wash the filter under the tap using lukewarm water with the dirty side face down until the water runs clear. DO NOT put the filter in the washing machine or dishwasher.

NOTE : The material in the filter will discolor over time. This is NORMAL and will not affect the performance of the filter. Allow the filter to air dry for 24 hours. Do not use a hair dryer or other heating methods to dry. Once the HEPA filter is dry, replace it back into the vacuum. Replace the cover by inserting the two tabs into the holes at the top and then swinging the cover down until it clicks into place.
