SVEN SPS-710 2.0 Multimedia Speaker System with Bluetooth

BUYER RECOMMENDATIONS

  • Unpack the device carefully. Make sure there are no accessories left in the box. Check up the device for damage; if the product was damaged during transportation, address the firm which carried out the delivery; if the product functions incorrectly, address the dealer at once.
  • Check up the package contents and availability of the warranty card. Make sure the warranty card has a shop stamp, a legible signature or the seller’s stamp and purchase date, and the goods number corresponds to that in the warranty card. Remember: in case of warranty card loss or discrepancy of numbers you forfeit the right for warranty repairs.
  • Do not switch on the speaker system immediately after you bring it into a room from environment with negative temperature! After unpacking, the speaker system should be kept in conditions of room temperature for at least 4 hours.
  • Before installing and using the speaker system, read this Manual carefully and keep it for future reference.
  • Shipping and transportation equipment is permitted only in the original container.
  • Does not require special conditions for realization.
  • Dispose of in accordance with regulations for the disposal of household and computer equipment.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

  • Caution! High voltage inside! To avoid the risk of electric shock do not open or touch elements inside.
  • To avoid electric shock, do not open the MSS and do not perform repairs by yourself. Service and repairs should be performed only by qualified specialists in an authorized service center. The list of authorized service centers is available on www.sven.fi.
  • Do not allow the circuit of wires (including the grounded ones) between the speakers, on the power amplifier or the ground, for it causes damage to the power amplifier output stage.
  • Do not touch the MSS power cord plug pins for 2 seconds after unplugging it from the mains.
  • Do not put foreign objects inside the holes of the MSS.
  • Protect the MSS from high humidity, water and dust.
  • Protect the MSS from heating: do not place it closer than 1 m from a heat source. Do not expose it to direct sunlight.
  • Do not place any open flame sources on or close to MSS.
  • Do not place the MSS in poorly ventilated areas. Leave an air gap of 10 cm or more. When operating the MSS, do not put any devices on it, do not cover it with cloth or other objects preventing it from cooling.
  • Do not use any chemical agents for cleaning. Clean it with dry soft cloth only.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

  • SPS-710 Multimedia Speaker System (MSS) with Bluetooth is designed to play music, sound games, movies, etc. The MSS has a built-in power amplifier allowing to connect it to virtually any audio source. MSS has a built-in Bluetooth wireless signal transmission protocol, FM radio and audio player. Remote control (RC) is included.

  • The storage device must be formatted as FAT, FAT32. Memory cards SDHC class 10 or less can be used. Connection of external hard disks other than USB flash drives is not recommended, otherwise, it can cause MSS damage.

Notes:

  • Use the remote control at an angle no more than 30 degrees, no more than 7 meters away from the IR receiver.
  • Direct the RC at the IR receiver display on the control panel.
  • If the RC isn’t working, check the batteries and replace the discharged batteries with new ones.
  • Remove the batteries from the remote control if the device is left unused for a long period of time (more than a week).

PREPARATION AND OPERATION

Speaker placement

  • Place the speakers symmetrically to the listener at least one meter away.
  • Place the speaker system far away from supersensitive monitors and TV sets, as insignificant image distortion in these devices is possible.

MSS сonnecting and control

  • SPS-710 Multimedia Speaker System can be connected to virtually any audio source: laptop/mobile device,
  • PC sound card, etc. (see connection diagram in Fig. 4).
  • Before making any connections, make sure that the MSS is unplugged. Connect the active speaker with the passive one using the audio cable (included). To do this, wring out the connector terminals on a passive speaker, insert the red cable wires of speakers to the red terminals and the black cable wires of speakers – to the black terminals (see connection diagram in Fig. 4), and then connect cables to the active speaker terminals k.
  • Note. Check the reliable fixation of wires in terminals, connection compliance with polarity and the absence of contact of bared wires with each other and the metal parts of the hardware.
  • To connect the MSS to a PC, or MP3 player, first, plug the RCA jacks of the 2RCA to mini-jack Ø 3,5 mm signal cable (included) to the РС audio AUX input of the active speaker, then plug the mini-jack of the signal cable to the the computer sound card LINE OUT port or to the mobile device audio OUTPUT (see connection diagram in Fig. 4).
  • Note. Sound quality is directly affected by correctness and reliability of the connection of cables. It is recommended that cables included in the package contents of the MSS be used.
  • Insert the power cord plug into the main outlet.
  • Turn on the MSS power using the ON/OFF switch (l, ON) on the active speaker rear panel. Then, turn on the audio source.
  • Turn on the speaker by turning any knob on the control panel of the active speaker or using button a on the remote control.
  • Select a desired signal source pressing short M e button on the control panel or pressing e, g, i button on the remote control, display will show the selected input.
  • Adjust the volume level with VOL +/- knob on the control panel or with the VOL+/- l buttons on the remote control.
  • Adjust the bass and treble level using the TREBLE +/- b and BASS +/- c knobs on the control panel or buttons TR+/- j, BASS +/- k on the remote control (Fig. 3).
  • To listen to the radio, connect the antenna to the FM ANT o jack (see Fig. 4) and adjust it for better reception.
  • After completing the MSS operation, mind to switch it off using the ON/OFF switch (l, OFF position), and unplug the power cord from the socket.

Bluetooth mode

  • For the signal transmission in this mode it is necessary first to interconnect the MSS with a signal source. For this press and hold the button i on the remote control or button e on the control panel, the display will show the selected input. The MSS will go to the search mode. Then on the signal source (telephone, smartphone, etc.) choose the search mode of devices with Bluetooth. The name SVEN-SPS-710-2-0-Multimedia-Speaker-System-with-Bluetooth-fig-8
  • of the MSS «SVEN SPS-710», will be displayed on the signal source screen, with which you need to intercommunicate*. Select this device and the “connect” command.
  • It is possible to control the player of a signal source from the remote control using button m or using buttons f, i on the control panel

AUX Mode

  • To turn on AUX mode press the M e button on the control pa nel or button AUX e on the RC, the display will show the selected input.

Player Mode

  • The system will automatically enter the Player mode when a USB device (USB-flash or micro SD-card**) is connected to the appropriate connectors, or press the M e button on the control panel or the g button on the remote control, the display will show the selected mode. The files will automatically start playing.
  • You can select the player mode using the remote control DEL/REP c button (“ONE” – the playing track replay; “RND” – play random tracks; “ALL” – play all tracks available), the display will show the selected mode.
  • The MSS operation may be incorrect if an SD card of 512 Mb capacity or lower is used. If a USB flash device of 8 Gb capacity or more is used, command processing time may be extended.
  • If the MSS has been already listed in the device list of the signal source, then the second activation of the search mode is not required. Select only this device and the “connect” command. You might have to enter the “0000” code to connect some models of devices via Bluetooth.

ST-BY Mode

  • To enter/exit this mode, press and hold down the M button on the control panel or a button on the remote control.

Mute Mode

  • Press the MUTE b button on the remote control to select the MUTE mode. Press this button again to leave the MUTE mode.

Radio Mode

  • Use button e on the control panel or button i on the remote control to enter the Radio mode. The display will show the selected input.
  • Press the long button on the control panel or AUTO n on the remote control. To stop the auto scanning process press twice this button before the scanning is over. The frequency being scanned is displayed on the front panel and when the station is being memorized its assigned sequence number is displayed for a short moment.
  • To save the selected station, press the SAVE f button on the remote control then select the desired memory with the buttons, on the control panel or on the remote control, and press the SAVE f button again.
  • If preset radio stations are available in the memory, you can switch from one to another by short pressing buttons, on the control panel or, on the remote control. You can also enter the frequency or the number of the preset station using numeric pad buttons o on the remote control.

Clock Mode

  • When the MSS is in the ST-BY mode, the display shows the current time. When the system is in another mode, use the TIME button on the remote control to see the time. The current time will be displayed for 3-5 seconds.

To set the current time from the remote control:

  • Switch to «ST-BY» mode. Enter the time setting mode by long pressing the TIME button (the corresponding digit will blink on the display). Set the required hour with the buttons , . Switching between the hour / minute settings and exit from the setting mode is performed by pressing the

AUTO button.

To set the current time from the control panel:

  • Turn on MMS, press the M button several times switch to the clock mode. Long press the button (the corresponding digit will flash on the display). Set the required hours with the buttons, Switching between setting hours/minutes and exiting setup mode is done by pressing a button.

Alarm Mode

To set the alarm with the remote control:

  • Switch to ST-BY mode. Spend setting hours, after the process of setting the alarm. The alarm time will flash on the display. Set the desired value of the clock buttons, after pressing them, the button then set the required minutes using the buttons, next press the button, then turn on / off the alarm with the buttons, and Exit setup mode with the button.

To set the alarm from the control panel:

  • Turn on the speakers, and switch to the alarm mode by pressing the several times M button. Press the long button (the corresponding digit will flash on the display). Set the required hours with the buttons
  • then press the button, then set the required minutes using buttons, after that press button, then turn on / off the alarm with the buttons, Exit setup mode by pressing the button.
  • When the alarm is on, a white LED lights up to the right of the display.

SLEEP Mode

  • The SLEEP mode enables the to switch over the device in the ST-BY mode after a lapse of time chosen by a user. Press the SLEEP button on the control panel to enter the SLEEP mode.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem Cause Solution
The MSS does not turn on. The MSS isn’t connected to a mains outlet. Check

the connection.

No sound or the sound is too quiet.
