use
Getting started

  1. Unpack the appliance.
  2. Put it on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface.
  3. Wipe the hot plates with a soft, dry cloth. Be careful not to let water get inside the appliance. Rinse with clean water and thoroughly dry using a soft cloth.

Important! Do not put the appliance in water (the hot plates are not removable).
When using it for the first time, pour a little oil on the hot plates. Wipe off the excess with some kitchen towel.
There may be a slight odor and a little smoke when the appliance is used for the first time. This is normal and does not affect the appliance. It will soon stop.

Use
Important! The appliance gets hot when it is on and can cause burns. Do not touch the hot surfaces of the appliance (hot plates): use the handles.

  • Unwind the power cable and then, plug it into the power socket. The red LED lights up. The appliance then begins to preheat. The appliance must remain closed.
  • Preheating takes about 3 minutes. The green “ready-to-cook” light lights up when the plates are at the correct temperature.
  • Open the appliance and place a small amount of waffle batter in the center of each indentation on the lower hot plate.
  • Be careful not to overload the hot plates with dough because any surplus may flow out the sides of the appliance during cooking (making it more difficult to clean).
  • Close the appliance. The green “ready-to-cook” light turns on and off alternately during cooking. Be careful not to close the latch so that the waffles can inflate.
  • Leave to cook for 5 minutes, or according to your personal taste. After 4 minutes, you will get a good browning.
  • When the waffles are done, remove the latch and open the appliance using the handle.

When opening the appliance, be careful of the smoke that comes out.

  • Remove the waffles with a plastic or wooden spatula.

Do not use sharp or metallic objects as they can damage the non-stick coating of the hot plates.

  • When you have finished using the appliance, unplug it from the mains power and leave it open until it has completely cooled down.

Please note: Don’t forget your waffles in the appliance! The waffles will get burnt and the overheating of the appliance could cause a fire!

maintenance and cleaning

Unplug the appliance from the power socket and wait for it to cool down completely before cleaning. Never immerse the appliance, power cord or plug in water or any other  liquid. Do not run water directly over the hot plates.
Do not put any part of this appliance in the dishwasher.
Never use scouring powder or an abrasive pad as this can damage the coating.

Cleaning
Remove food residue with some kitchen towel or a non-abrasive sponge.
Then, use a non-abrasive sponge soaked in hot water mixed with a mild detergent (e.g. washing-up liquid) to clean the hot plates. Wipe with some kitchen towel or a soft  cloth. Wipe the body of the appliance with a soft cloth or a slightly dampened sponge.
