Possible uses and important information
Suitable for all rebated doors and flush doors that open inwards*, DIN right
hinged and left hinged, door leaf widths of 850 mm – 1.000 mm.
- With the mounting set PA1014 the door bar PR1400 can also be mounted on doors opening outwards (separately available as accessories).
According to the situation of the installation, the possibility to fasten the lock may be restricted and has to be checked individually.
Installation
Hold the fastening shackle next to the door edge (fig. 1), mark drill positions (a) and pre-drill: wood Ø 3,5 mm, metal Ø 4,0 mm (fig. 2). Screw down with the inserted metal distance plate (screws 4,8 x 32 mm, fig. 3a). In case of flush doors line with a 5 mm spacer (fig. 3b). Depending on the possibilities to screw, the fastening shackle can also be screwed down with the chamfered side to the door edge. Itshould be taken into consideration that the shackle must snap back at least 5 mm from the door edge (fig. 3c). Insert the bolt case. The side of the bolt which is completely pushed is pointing to the door lock. Adjust it horizontally, hold on the rear fastening shackle and mark the drill position. The distance from the pushed-in bolt to the hinge must be at least 40 mm (fig. 4). Remove the bolt case, pre-drill the screwdown holes (a): wood 3,5 mm, metal 4,0 mm). Screw down the fastening shackle with the inserted intermediate metal plate (screws 4,8 x 32 mm, fig. 5). In case of flush doors line with a 5 mm spacer (fig. 3b). Insert the bolt case into the two fastening shackles. The visible bolt is pointing to the hinge side. Use a grub screw to wedge it slightly from the top (fig. 6).
Press in the red handle plates both on top and bottom, then push out the bolt. For door leaf widths of more than 860 mm, the bolt must be adjusted on the hinge side of the door by 1 to 9 divisions (1 division = 19 mm). Depending to the position of the lock case on the lock side or in case of a narrow recess, push in or out the shorter bolt by 1 division. Adjustment of the bolt: Remove the bolt case. Press in the red handle plates of the bar and hold them (fig. 7).
Attention: Do not let go of the handle plates! When letting go of the red
handle plates while adjusting, the springs might come out!
Adjust bolt by the divisions needed and screw on tight the bar. The screws
will cut the threading on their own (fig. 8).
Re-insert bolt case into both fastening shackles and fix with grub screws
(Abb. 6). (For fitting in recesses see last point)
Push locking case onto the pushed-out bolts. The hole marking points away from
the PR1400. Line with plastic spacers, if necessary (fig. 9).
Determine required position. Distance of locking case to the door edge on the
hinge side must be at least 20 mm (fig. 10).
Push back bolt, mark 4 drill holes (b) and pre-drill: wood Ø 3,5 mm, metal Ø
4,0 mm, stone Ø 8,0 mm – and fix tight with 4 screws (4,8 x 60 mm).
When fitting on the wall additionally use frame dowels. Drill at an angle (c)
through the locking case into the wall pointing at little upwards and
downwards, Ø 10 mm and about 140 mm deep (fig. 11).
Insert screw into the dowel, push both into the dowel hole up to the dowel
collar and tighten the screw firmly. Attention: To open the door push back
both bolts.
Fitting in narrow areas: In case it is not possible to fix the locking case,
push out bolt to the wall and mark the bolt profile. Stem out the bolt opening
and fix the strike firmly in the masonry (fig. 12). Push in bolt until secure
fit is ensured and the bolt engages.
Operation
Opening and closing is done exclusively via the two red push buttons.
