TROUBLESHOOTING

  • Both LEDs were flashing and meter was frozen.
    • RWS is in HOLD mode.
    • Press the HOLD button to release.
  • Check Battery strength by pressing the Audio/Battery button, checking that needle reaches above the Battery line on the dial.

OPERATION

  • Press the ON/OFF button.
  • Signal Penetration is selected by switching between yellow & red LEDs using the white and orange buttons to match the sequence to the key displayed on the label. Please refer to the online User Guide for more information.
  • Place the RWS onto the material under test with the appropriate scale/mode/signal penetration selected.
  • Adjust the Sensitivity wheel to place the needle at a low starting point above zero.
  • Readings are displayed instantly in the 0-100 comparative scale.
  • To Hold/freeze the readings press the HOLD button once. When the HOLD button is pressed both LED’s will flash continuously. If the RWS isshut down in HOLD mode it will retain the stored reading when powered up next and remain in Hold mode.
  • Automatic power timeout (10 mins) conserves battery life.

FURTHER TESTS TO SUBSTANTIATE READINGS

  • Taking core samples of the EIFS or foamed roof insulation and/or the use of a pin type resistance meter such as a TRAMEX PTM2 with deep wall probes is recommended to substantiate the RWS readings.
