  • Full Menu: Press to access Full Menu, and to scroll,   to select,   and to exit menu to main screen.

  • Full Menu is used to choose NDT and Pin Scales (Wood Standard, Wood Species, WME, Drywall), Pin Temperature, Language and Temperature Scale (Cº of Fº). For complete instructions, see the online user guide.

  • Press the CMEX5 fully against concrete slab or screed surface. (Surface should be smooth and free of coatings/contaminants)

  • Instant readings displayed on digital screen.

  • The built-in Relative Humidity Sensor provides Temperature, Relative Humidity, DewPoint and grains per pound readings.

  • Last scale used is memorized on power off and automatically restored on next power up.
Hold/freeze: Press once, “II” will appear on the screen. Press again to release hold. (If powered down while on Hold, will retain information until powered up and hold pressed again to release)

NON DESTRUCTIVE MODE

  • CONCRETE %MC scale: Quantitative %MC Moisture Content by mass/weight readings for Concrete slabs and sand/cement screeds using Gravimetric testing as a baseline.
  • CM CONCRETE scale: Equivalent reading to Carbide Method (CM) test for Concrete slabs and Sand/Cement screeds.
  • CM ANHYDRITE: Equivalent reading to Carbide Method (CM) test for Anhydrite, Hemi-hydrate, Gypsum and Calcium Sulphate Screeds.
  • GYPSUM REF 0-12: Reference readings replicating measurements using concrete scale on concrete & sand/cement floors/screeds, for use on Gypsum floors/screeds.
  • REFERENCE 0-99 scale: Comparative/qualitative scale to identify areas with moisture; where direct contact to bare concrete is not possible due to thin coating or covering; for non-concrete/screed materials such as ceramic tiles or stone.

PIN-PROBE WOOD/WME MODE

  • Attach the pin-probe (if purchased) into Bayonet connection at top of the instrument. (Line up arrow on front and twist.)

  • Use Shortcut Menu to select from Recently Used scales.

  • Use Full Menu to select Pin Scale options (Wood Standard, Wood Species, WME, Drywall, Pin Temperature)

  • When pins are inserted into wood, measurements of 5% to approx. 30% are displayed.

  • WME scale is a Wood Moisture Equivalent scale for comparative pin readings in many building materials.

  • DRYWALL scale is a comparative scale for use in drywall.

EQUILIBRIUM RELATIVE HUMIDITY PROBE MODE

  • Attach the RH cable and probe (if purchased) into the Bayonet connection at the top of the instrument. (Line up arrow on front and twist.)

EQUILIBRIUM RELATIVE HUMIDITY PROBE MODE

  • The CMEX5 automatically switches into Hygrometer mode, displaying readings of RH%, Temperature, Dew Point & Humidity Ratio. For information on how to perform Equilibrium Relative Humidity (ERH) testing of concrete and other floor screeds see the online user guide.

BLUETOOTH

  • Press to switch Bluetooth ON/OFF. Readings will be sent to the Tramex App on your mobile device.
