Space required during operation.

Instructions for Placing the Printer
Install the printer in a location like that described below.

  • Choose a location with at least as much space as shown above.
When running cables from the front of the printer around sides, leave a space of around 10 mm through which the cables can pass.

  • Choose a location with access to a dedicated power outlet.

  • Choose a level and stable location that can support the printer’s weight of approximately 7 kg.

  • Choose a location with a temperature of 10–35 C° and a humidity of 20–80%.
When the printer is placed on a system rack, make sure the environment of the rack is within these ranges.
Even the conditions above are met, you may not print properly if the environmental conditions are not proper for the paper.
Also, keep the printer away from drying, direct sunlight, or heat sources to maintain the appropriate humidity.

Initial Ink Charging

  • Fill all ink tanks before turning the printer on.

  • Epson recommends the use of genuine Epson ink bottles.
Epson warranty does not cover damage caused by inks other than those specified, including any genuine Epson ink not designed for this printer or any third party ink. Other products not manufactured by Epson may cause damage that is not covered by Epson’s warranties, and under certain circumstances, may cause erratic printer behavior.

  • The initial ink bottles will be partly used to charge the print head. These bottles may print fewer pages compared to subsequent ink bottles.

  • Ink bottles (sold separately) are required for ink charging.

Make sure that the color of the ink tank matches the ink color that you want to fill.

  • Remove the cap while keeping the ink bottle upright; otherwise ink may leak.
  • Do not allow the top of the ink bottle to hit against any objects after removing its cap; otherwise ink may spill.
  • Do not forcibly squeeze the bottle, as the ink could spill.
  • Check the upper line in the ink tank.

After checking the color, insert the bottle into the filling port.

  • When you insert the ink bottle into the filling port for the correct color, ink starts pouring and the flow stops automatically when the ink reaches the upper line.
  • If the ink does not start flowing into the tank, remove the ink bottle and reinsert it.

Do not remove and reinsert ink bottles once the ink has reached the upper line, as this may cause the ink to spill.

Once the level of ink in the tank has reached the upper line, remove the ink bottle and close the cap.

Do not leave the ink bottle inserted; otherwise the bottle may be damaged or ink may leak.
If any ink remains in the ink bottle, tighten the cap and store the bottle upright for later use.

  • Do not perform operations other than those specified on the screen.
