Initial setup
Plug your HM7000 decoder into your DCC ready locomotive, please refer to your locomotive’s instruction manual for full guidance
Bluetooth Only
For Bluetooth only control of your HM7000-TXS, power your track using a compatible power supply* and the HM7020 – Power supply adapter. Turn on mains power then proceed to step [3].

Bluetooth mode: (CV12: 2)
DCC & Bluetooth
For DCC control of your HM7000-TXS, power your track using a compatible DCC
controller and proceed to step [3]. You can now control your locomotive
using your DCC controller. Bluetooth mode will also work whilst powered
through a DCC controller by altering CV12 to a value of ‘2’. Please alter CV’s
(Configuration Values) using the HM I DCC app or your DCC controller.

Default mode: DCC (CV12: 0)
Place your HM7000 fitted locomotive onto the track. Proceed to step [4] if you
wish to control your locomotive via the HM I DCC app.
Installing a HM7070 – Power Bank Module (R7377) (Sold Separately)
— A HM7070 – Power Bank Module (R7377) can be plugged into the Power Bank
Socket as shown below
Installing an external speaker (Included
in pack)
— A Sugarcube Speaker can be plugged into the Speaker Socket shown below OR
the speaker can be cut/soldered to a locomotive that supports it.
Installing speaker enclosures (Included in pack)
— Included is a sugarcube speaker and a set of enclosures to fit a locomotive
without a speaker pre-installed. It is advised to choose the largest possible
enclosure to ensure the highest fidelity of sound. Lastly, fit your HM7000
decoder and sugarcube speaker assembly into your locomotive where best.
Bluetooth App Control
Download the HM I DCC application.
A. Scan the OR code with a compatible Android or iOS phone or tablet.
B. You will be directed to the HM I DCC app in your app store. You can also
search for “HM DCC” in your app store to find the HM I DCC app.
C. Tap on ‘GET’ or ‘Install’ next to the HM I DCC app icon and follow the on-
screen instructions.
D. Wait for the app to download and install on your phone or tablet. Proceed
to Step [5].
Connect your HM7000-TXS Decoder to HM I DCC.
A. Ensure steps 1-3 have been followed and your locomotive is powered. B. On
the compatible phone or tablet you wish to use, ensure that your Bluetooth is
turned on.
C. Open the application and follow the initial setup process, ensuring you
allow HM I DCC to access and use Bluetooth on your device. Ensure all
permissions are granted. Please note: You will be required to login to the
HM I DCC app using your Hornby.com account. A Hornby account can be created
via the Hornby.com website.
D. Once initial setup is complete, the locomotive will respond to inputs on
the ‘Control Screen’.
Locomotive Sounds & Profiles
All sound profiles for HM7000-TXS decoders are FREE of charge. Please note
that the HM7000-TXS decoders feature a factory default profile that is not
specific to any locomotive. Specific locomotive sound profiles are available
via the HM I DCC app.
During initial setup of your connected decoder on the HM I DCC app, follow the
steps provided to OTA sync the sound profile to your decoder.
Once the OTA sync is complete, please ensure that a ‘power-cycle’ is performed
by removing and replacing the locomotive on the track. This will activate the
sound profile.
