Before you start
Please read carefully the SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS AND REGULATORY WARNINGS document included in the product box before you begin the installation of your MGA5331.
Check the contents of the box
Your box must contain at least the following items:

Insert the SIM card
The MGA5331 must always be turned off when inserting the SIM card.
To install the SIM card, proceed as follows:
- Check if the MGA5331 is turned off .
- Slide the SIM card into the indicated place with the chamfer facing down and with the golden contacts facing to the right of the MGA5331.
Turning on the MGA5331
Plug the power supply plug into the power input of your MGA5331.
- Connect the power supply to any nearby outlet.
- After a few minutes, the LED on the front panel should light up.
- if not, check the connections.
If the LED on the front panel is flashing in white, the software of your MGA 5331 is being updated. If this is the case, wait until the LED stops flashing and is lit in solid white. This could take several minutes! Do not unplug any cable and do not unplug the device during this process!
Connect your network devices
We recommend that you connect first the desktop/laptop devices (if possible, via network cable), then complete the process by connecting the other devices via network cable or wireless network.
Connect your wired devices (Ethernet)
If you wish to connect a device using an “Ethernet” connection, use the network cable.
- Connect one end of the network cable to one of the yellow ports on the back panel of your MGA5331.
- Connect the other end of the network cable to your other device.
Connect your wireless devices
You can connect your wireless device:

Automatically using WPS:
- Start the WPS setting on your device.
- If your wireless device prompts you to select your access point from a list, choose the one that has the Network Name identical to the one printed on the label of your MGA5331.
- Press the WPS button on the back panel of your MGA5331 for at least 1 second.
- The Wi-Fi LED on the back panel of the device will flash in green.
- The Wi-Fi LED will be in one of the states below:

Steady green color: The wireless device was successfully detected and connected.

After two minutes, blinking quickly in green color: Your MGA5331 was unable to find the wireless device. Try again or connect your wireless device manually

Manually:
Set up your wireless device with the Wireless Network Name and Password printed on the label of your MGA5331. -
Via QR code:
Another way to connect your smartphone to the wireless network is by using the smartphone to scan the QR code printed on the label of your MGA5331. After scanning the code with your smartphone’s camera, tap the prompt or alert that appears to confi rm the action. -
Important:
Make sure that your smartphone supports QR code-scanning. The QR code connection will only work if you keep the MGA5331 wireless network parameters adjusted with the factory values.
Connect your phones
Plug your traditional phone device into the existing phone port on the back panel of your MGA5331.
Configure the services of your MGA5331
Step 1: Browse to the WEB interface of your MGA5331
- Browse to http://192.168.1.1 (this is the default IP address of your MGA5331) through a computer or device that is connected to your MGA 5331 via network cable or over the wireless network.
- The MGA5331 WEB interface will appear. Enter the Username and Password according to the information printed on the label of your MGA5331.
Step 2: Set up your Internet connection over the mobile network
If the status on the Mobile page is:
- Connected, then your mobile connection is already configured and operational.
- Please enter the PIN:
- Click on Mobile. The Mobile page will appear. If necessary, click on SIM tab.
- In the PIN Protection item, click Unlock.
- The PIN box will appear. Enter your SIM card PIN, click Confirm and then Close.
- After a few minutes, the status of the Mobile card will change to Connected.
- SIM not present, then turn off the device and make sure that the SIM card is inserted as described in “3. Insert the SIM card”.
Step 3: Set up your wireless access points
- Change the following settings under Access Point:
- Under SSID, enter the name of the network that you want to use for that access point (in case you don’t want to use the default name).
- In the Security Mode list under the Access Point, select the security mode that you want to use for that access point. We recommend that you use WPA2-PSK.
- In Wireless network, enter the Password that you want to use for that access point. The Password must have between 8 and 63 alphanumeric characters.
- Click on Save.
- Reconnect your wireless clients to your MGA5331 using the new wireless configuration parameters.
Check LTE/5G signal quality
The speed of your internet connection via mobile network depends on the level of the signal received. Therefore, it is important that you install your MGA5331 in a location where the received signal level is optimal.
How to check the signal level?
The LED on the front panel indicates the signal quality among other device
statuses:
Front-state LED
Status | Description |
---|---|
Blue | Connected to the 5G network with excellent signal quality or connected |
to 2.5G WAN port.
Cyan| Connected to the 5G network with optimal signal quality, between -115
dBm and -105 dBm.
Green| Connected to the 5G network with signal lower than or equal to -115 dBm
or; Connected to the 4G network with signal greater than -105 dBm.
Orange| Connected to the 5G network with signal lower than or equal to -115
dBm or; Connected to the 4G network with signal lower than or equal to -105
dBm.
Red| Could not connect to the mobile network, check that the SIM card is
inserted correctly and that there is 4G/5G signal in your region.
Flashing Green| The MGA5331 has successfully booted and is looking for
connection to the mobile network
Flashing White| The MGA5331 is in the process of updating the firmware, do not
turn off the equipment until the end.
Lighting all colors cyclically| The MGA5331 is in the process of returning to
the factory settings, do not turn off the equipment until complete.
White| The MGA5331 is in the process of booting.
Off| The MGA5331 is off.
In addition, the existing 5G/4G LED on the back panel of your MGA5331 displays the following connection statuses to the mobile network:
Status | Description |
---|---|
Green | Connected to the 5G network with optimal signal quality. |
Orange | Connected to the 4G network with optimal signal quality. |
Red | Weak or non-existent signal (and is not connected to another device via |
WAN port).
Improving the signal quality
To improve signal quality, you can try the following:
- Reorient the MGA5331 and check the front panel LED again.
- Avoid placing the MGA5331 near any equipment that may cause interference.
- Relocate the MGA5331 to another place in your home.
