Owner’s Manual

The KG-XS20G Plus introduces some new features and functionality to the XS20G Series that are not included in the manual for the original KG-XS20G radio. These new features are as follows:

• Four New Display Themes – The KG-XS20G Plus now has a new THEME menu item with with four options, labeled WHITE-1, WHITE-2, BLACK-1, and BLACK-2. For those who want to keep the theme from the original XS20G, the name of the theme is now WHITE-2. The default theme is now BLACK-2.
• Night Mode Function – The KG-XS20G Plus adds a new feature called NIGHT mode. When Night Mode is activated, the Bright Active (BRT-ACTV) and Bright Standby (BRT-STBY) values are reduced by 50%, and an icon of a moon is shown in the top icon area of the display to indicate that Night Mode is active. The Night Mode feature can be assigned to a programmable function key (PF key) for instant activation.
• Assignable TDR Function Key – In addition to the TDR key on the radio, the TDR function itself can now be assigned to a programmable function key (PF key) for instant switching between single and dual display.
• Faster Channel Switching – The speed of changing channels via the front panel channel knob has been in- creased.

30: PF1-SHRT] Side Key PF1 Short Press Assignment
Function: Assigns a function to the [PF1] side key. A function is assigned to a short button press.
Options: UNDEF/TDR/NIGHT/BRT/DCS-SCAN/CTC- SCAN/REVERSE/TALK-A/WEATHER/MONI/ FM-RADIO/SOS/ALARM/SCAN
Default: SCAN
[31: PF1-LONG] Side Key PF1 Long Press Assignment
Function: Assigns a function to the [PF1] side key. A function is assigned to a long button press.
Options: UNDEF/TDR/NIGHT/BRT/DCS-SCAN/CTC- SCAN/REVERSE/TALK-A/WEATHER/MONI/FM-RADIO/SOS/ALARM/SCAN/SELEC CALL/FRQ2-PTT
Default: MONI

[56: THEME] LCD Mode
Function: Sets the theme of the LCD display to one of 4 display themes.
Options: WHITE-1/WHITE-2/BLACK-1/BLACK-2
Default: BLACK-2
