BREITLING CHRONOMETERA

YOUR BREITLING CHRONOMETER
A chronometer is a high-precision time-keeping instrument that has successfully passed the entire battery of tests imposed by the COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute), a neutral and independent body which individually tests each movement according to the specifications in force.

CAUTION
Mechanical watches with date, day, month, and moon-phase indicators are equipped with a complex mechanism that is set in motion between 8 pm and 3 am. It is vital to avoid adjusting the calendar or moving the hands backwards during this period.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

  1. STEP 1
Check whether the crown should be unscrewed (counterclockwise) before you carry out the following steps.

  2. STEP 2
Wind the watch with approximately 40 clockwise turns of the crown.

  3. STEP 3
If the watch has no date aperture, pull the crown out to position 2. Set the hour and minute hands. If the watch does have a date aperture, proceed as follows: pull the crown out to position 3. Turn it so that the hour and minute hands point to 06:25. Push the crown into position 2. Turn it counterclockwise or clockwise to set the date to the previous day. Pull the crown out to position 3. Turn the hands forwards until the correct date appears at midnight. Set the hour and minute hands.

  4. STEP 4
Push the crown back into position 1. If you had to unscrew the crown in step 1, follow this final step: press the crown gently, turning it clockwise, then tighten it again until you feel some resistance. Do not force it!

  5. STEP 5

WHAT TO AVOID

Like any valuable object, Breitling chronometers deserve special care. It is important to protect them from jarring and knocks by hard objects. Do not expose them to chemical products, solvents, dangerous gases, or magnetic fields. Your Breitling chronometer is designed to run smoothly at temperatures ranging between 0°C and 50°C.
