USE OF THE APPLIANCE
Inserting and replacing batteries
The batteries are supplied with the scale. The batteries must be inserted into the scale before use.
- Remove the batteries from the protective packaging.
- Turn the scale upside down and remove the battery compartment cover.
- Insert two AAA batteries (2x 1.5 V) into the compartment. Observe the correct polarity, which is marked on the bottom of the battery compartment.
- Replace the cover. When replacing the batteries, always replace both batteries at the same time. First remove the empty batteries and then insert new ones. Do not use alkaline and rechargeable batteries at the same time.
Warning:
Never put batteries in fire, short circuit or damage them in any way. After
the end of their lifetime, discard them in environmentally friendly manner.
Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
Note:
If you will not be using the scale for a long time, remove the batteries to
prevent electrolyte leakage and damage to the scale.
Weighing
- Place the scale on a dry, flat and firm surface. Open the cover.
- Press the ON/OFF button briefly to switch the scale on.
- Wait until the display shows “O” and then press the UNIT button repeatedly to select the unit of weight. The unit of weight will be switched in the following order: g – oz – dwt – ozt – pcs.
- Place the object to be weighed on the weighing surface and the display will show the weight of the object.
- If you will no longer be using the scale, press the ON/OFF button to turn the scale off.
Note:
The display backlight automatically dims after about 30 seconds of inactivity.
Press any button and the display will light up fully again. The scale
automatically switches off after 2 minutes of inactivity.
TARE function
This function is used to reset the weight of e.g. a container if it is not to be added to the total weight of the object or raw materials during weighing. This function is also used to weigh items or raw materials one by one.
- Press the ON/OFF button briefly to switch the scale on.
- Wait until the display shows “O” and then press the UNIT button repeatedly to select the unit of weight.
- Place the container whose weight is not to be included in the total weight on the weighing surface and press the VT button.
- Wait until the display shows “O” and place the object or raw materials you want to weigh into the container.
- Press the VT button repeatedly to reset the display value and add more items or resources.
- If you will no longer be using the scale, press the ON/OFF button to turn the scale off.
Note
- If the total weight of all weighed raw materials/ items is less than 4% of the total maximum scale capacity (8 g), an “o” (zero value) icon will appear in the lower left corner of the display each time the VT button is pressed to indicate that the zero value function is active. The maximum total capacity of the scale remains unchanged.
- If the total weight of all weighed raw materials/ items is greater than 4% of the total maximum weighing capacity (8 g), the “TARE” icon will appear in the upper left corner of the display each time the YT button is pressed. The maximum total capacity of the scale will be reduced by the total weight of all raw materials/items on the scale.
- If you weigh several items or raw materials in sequence, the first press of the YT button will first display the total weight and the second press of the YT button will reset the display.
Piece count function
- Place the scale on a dry, flat and firm surface. Open the cover.
- Press the ON/OFF button briefly to switch the scale on.
- Calibration must be carried out first. Prepare a sample quantity of 25, 50 or 100 of the item you want to count in pieces.
- Press the UNIT button repeatedly to select the “pcs” unit.
- Press and hold the UNIT button and the display will flash “25”. Press the UNIT button repeatedly to select the required value. It is important that the value on the display corresponds to the number of pieces you have ready for calibration.
- Place a sample quantity of pieces on the weighing surface. It is important to put the sample quantity of pieces on the scale only after you have selected the desired value.
- Wait for the display to flash. This indicates that the scale has recognized and stored the calibrated quantity (the scale stores the average weight of one piece in memory).
- Now place the pieces you want to count one by one on the weighing surface and the display will show the number of pieces.
Note
The scale remembers the last saved calibration. If you want to count other items, you need to reprogram the scale. We recommend calibration with 100 pcs if possible. An object whose mass is less than the average mass stored during calibration will not be counted.
Display reports
- “Lo” – if the display shows “Lo”, the batteries are almost dead and need to be replaced. Follow the instructions in “Inserting and replacing batteries”.
- “Err” – if the display shows the message “Err”, the scale is overloaded. Remove objects or raw materials from the weighing area. If the scale is overloaded for a long period of time, there is a risk of damage.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Before cleaning, make sure the scale is switched off and the display is off.
Warning
Never immerse the scale in water or any other liquid. Do not use plastic or metal wire, harsh cleaning agents, chemicals, petrol, solvents or other similar substances to clean the scale. The surface finish could be seriously damaged. Wipe the scale with a clean, dry cloth. If the weighing surface is dirty, use a clean sponge slightly dampened in warm water. Wipe dry.
Storage
Make sure that the scale is clean before you store it. If you are not going to
use the scale for a long period of time, remove the batteries from the scale
to avoid possible electrolyte leakage and subsequent damage to the scale.
Store the scale in a dry and well-ventilated place away from children or pets.
Do not place any objects on the scale.
DISPOSAL OF USED BATTERIES
Batteries contain materials harmful to the :a environment. Do not dispose of batteries in a regular community waste. Dispose of used batteries properly at collection points.
