coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, please proceed as
follows:
The wires in the mains lead are labelled in accordance with the following
code:
Blue neutral [N] Brown live [L] Green/Yellow [EARTH] Plug Fitting Details
(Where Applicable).
- The wire labelled blue is the neutral and must be connected to the terminal marked [N].
- The wire labelled brown is the live wire and must be connected to the terminal marked [L].
- The wire labelled green/yellow must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter [E].
- On no account must either the brown or the blue wire be connected to the [EARTH] terminal.
- Always ensure that the cord grip is fastened correctly.
- The plug must be fitted with a fuse of the same rating already fitted and conforming to BS 1362 and be ASTA approved.
- If in doubt consult a qualified electrician who will be pleased to do this for you.
Non-Rewireable Mains Plug.
If your appliance is supplied with a non-rewireable plug fitted to the mains
lead and should the fuse need replacing, you must use an ASTA approved one
(conforming to BS 1362 of the same rating).
If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician who will be pleased to do this
for you.
If you need to remove the plug – disconnect it from the mains – then cut it
off of the mains lead and immediately dispose of it in a safe manner. Never
attempt to reuse the plug or insert it into a socket outlet as there is a
danger of an electric shock.

Read all instructions and safety information carefully before first use. Please retain this information for future reference.
- Remove all packaging materials, including those that may be inside the toasting slots or toasting lever slots.
- Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Dry thoroughly. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
- Do not put the toaster, cord or plug in water.
- Make sure the crumb tray is securely locked into place and the toasting lever is in the Up position.
- Unwrap the power cord from the cord storage area on the underside of the toaster and plug into a 220-240V AC outlet.
- Turn the browning selector dial to the lightest setting.
- Lower the toasting lever until it locks into place. Operate without bread once or twice to burn off any manufacturing residue. You may notice a light amount of smoke; this is normal and will stop as the heating elements continue to heat.
Using Your Appliance
Automatic Centring Guides:
Lowering the toasting lever closes the centring guides and holds the bread or
food to be toasted centrally in the toasting slots.
NOTE: The toasting lever will not lock down unless the toaster is plugged
into an electrical outlet.
- Make sure the crumb tray is securely locked into place and the toasting levers are in the Up position.
- Make sure no bread or other objects are inside the toasting slots.
- Place the toaster on a flat, level, heat resistant surface.
- Plug the power cord into a mains outlet.
- Slide the Browning selector control to the desired setting. To test toasting times for browning, it is best to use both toasting slots and position the Browning selector control between 3 and 4, and then adjust each subsequent toasting to your preference.
- Remove all protective wrappings from food before placing it into the toasting slots.
- Insert bread or foods suitable for toasting into the toasting slots.
- Lower the toasting lever until locked into place. The automatic centring guides hold food upright for uniform side-to-side toasting. When the bread is lowered into position, toasting will begin.
- When the toast reaches the selected browning level, it will pop up automatically.
- Remove the bread from the toasting slot. Be careful when removing the bread, as the bread and the top of the toaster will still be hot.
- To interrupt toasting, press the corresponding CANCEL button. NEVER attempt to interrupt toasting by lifting the carriage handle.
- Unplug the cord from the wall outlet when not in use.
Bun Warmer:
Use the bun warmer to heat up rolls or other bread.
-
Place the bread on the top of the rack.
Note: only heat up one piece at a time. -
Select browning setting and press the carriage control lever down to switch on the toaster.
-
The toasting cycle will commence and the toaster turns off when the desired toast color is achieved automatically.
Buttons:
- Reheat Buttons: These buttons allow you to reheat your food without any extra browning or toasting.
- Defrost Buttons: These buttons allow you to defrost and toast frozen bread.
- Cancel Buttons: These buttons allow you to stop the toasting process.
NOTE: The toasting lever will not lock into position unless the toaster
is plugged in. When toasting a single slice, the bread may be placed in any
toasting slot.
To prevent a fire hazard, never place bread over the opening of the toaster;
always place it into the slots.
DO NOT change the browning level setting during the toasting cycle. First
press the CANCEL button; then turn the Browning selector control to adjust the
browning level. Lower the toasting lever and toast until the desired toast
colour is achieved.
IMPORTANT: Never use a fork or sharp-edged utensil to remove toast, as
that may damage the heating element or cause injury.
Troubleshooting
Questions | Answers |

Why is there a burning smell emitting from my toaster? | Unplug the toaster and |
allow it to cool.
Crumbs in the crumb tray may be causing the burning smell. Remove the crumb tray and empty over a bin. soft. Try using bread that is slightly thicker or less pliable.
The browning dial will not operate.| There may be crumbs stuck in the socket.
Unplug the toaster and try shaking it to dislodge any debris.
If the browning dial still does not work, contact our Customer Support team.
