WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, serious personal injury and/or property damage:

  • A. DO NOT touch hot surfaces. Always use the handle while it is in use.
    Use protective oven mitts or gloves to avoid burns or serious personal injuries.

  • B. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the power cord, plug or product in water or expose to other liquids.

  • C. Keep the product out of the reach of children and pets. This product is not intended for use by children. Close adult supervision is necessary when any appliance is used near children.

  • D. Unplug appliance from electrical outlet before cleaning and when not in use. Allow to cool down completely before assembling, disassembling, relocating, or cleaning the appliance.

  • E. DO NOT operate the product if it has a damaged power cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.   • G. To disconnect, remove plug from the outlet. Pull directly on the plug –DO NOT pull on the power cord.

  • H. Take proper precautions to prevent burns, fire, or personal or property damage as this appliance generates heat and steam during use.

  • I. DO NOT plug or unplug the product into/from the electrical outlet if hands are wet or moist.

  • J. Use the product in a well-ventilated area.

  • K. Keep the product away from curtains, clothing, dishtowels, or other flammable materials.

  • L. DO NOT use attachments not recommended or sold by the product manufacturer.

  • M. This product is intended for indoor, non-commercial use in cooking or heating food items for human consumption. DO NOT use outdoors or for any other purpose.

  • N. DO NOT allow the power cord to hang (e.g., over the edge of a table or counter) or touch hot surfaces.

  • O. DO NOT place the product on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven or microwave oven.

  • P. Always place the product on a flat, level, stable surface – it is not recommended to use the appliance on temperature sensitive surfaces.

  • Q. Connect the power plug to an easily accessible outlet so that the appliance can be unplugged immediately in the event of an emergency.

  • R. DO NOT use appliance for anything other than its intended use.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE

GROUNDED PLUG: As a safety feature, this appliance is equipped with a grounded plug, which will only fit into a three-prong outlet. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature. Improper connection of the grounding conductor may result in the risk of electrical shock. Consult a qualified electrician if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.

AN EXTENSION CORD MAY BE USED IF CARE IS EXERCISED IN THEIR USE:

  • Minimize the risk of overheating by using the shortest UL or ETL listed cord possible.
  • The marked electrical rating must be at least as great as that of the product.
  • Never use a single extension cord to operate more than one appliance.
  • Arrange the longer cord so that it will not drape over a countertop or tabletop where it can be tripped over, snagged, or pulled on unintentionally (especially by children).

DO NOT alter the plug. DO NOT attempt to defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug.

BEFORE INITIAL USE

  1. Remove all parts & accessories. Dispose of packaging.

  2. Wipe the cooking plates with a damp sponge or cloth.
    WARNING: DO NOT run water directly onto the cooking surface. DO NOT immerse the appliance or power cord in water or any other liquids or place in the dishwasher.

  3. Dry thoroughly.

  4. Wipe the cover with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.

  5. Lightly grease the baking surfaces before the unit is used for the first time. Use the appliance for about 10 minutes with the cover closed. Then wipe it down with a damp cloth.

HOW TO USE

READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE
WARNING: DO NOT touch hot surfaces. Always use the handle of the product. Use protective oven mitts or gloves to avoid burns or serious personal injuries.
NOTE: Never use metal utensils such as forks, knives with this product to avoid scratches on the non-stick surface. Only use plastic, rubber, wooden, or silicone cooking utensils

  • A. Place the product on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface.

  • B. Plug the power cord into a standard 120-volt AC electrical outlet. POWER light (red) will illuminate, indicating the product is heating.
    NOTE: The READY-TO-COOK light (green) cycles on and off indicating the unit is preheating.

  • C. The READY-TO-COOK light indicator (green) will illuminate, indicating the appliance is ready for cooking.

  • D. Open the cover using the front handle (3) and an oven mitt. Avoid contact with the hot surfaces. Fill cupcake cups with batter using a spoon and fill at 3 mm (0,25“) from the edge of the mould. Do not over fill.
    NOTE: If placing mixture directly into the cupcake maker, it is advised to lightly spray the cooking plates with a cooking oil spray before use.
    NOTE: DO NOT open the cover while steam is escaping. Cooking time may vary depending on the type of batter used and the desired level of browning.

  • E. When steam has stopped escaping, it is an indication that cupcake is cooked. You may cook for a longer period of time to achieve the desired color or until a toothpick inserted into the cupcakes comes out clean.

  • F. To remove cupcakes, always use silicone utensils of wooden spatula. Never use a sharp object or metal, as it will damage the non-stick coating of the cooking plates.
    NOTE: The READY-TO-COOK light (green) may cycle on and off during cooking. This is normal and it indicates that the thermostat is maintaining the unit at the proper cooking temperature.

  • G. Close the cover and wait for READY-TO-COOK light (green) to illuminate again before preparing another batch of cupcakes.

  • H. Unplug appliance from electrical outlet after cooking is done. Allow it to cool down before cleaning.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

WARNING: Ensure the appliance is unplugged from the electrical outlet and allow it to completely cool down before handling or cleaning.
WARNING: DO NOT pour cold water on the product, as the sudden temperature change may damage the product or create a burn hazard.

  1. Wipe the cooking plates with a damp sponge or cloth.
    WARNING: DO NOT run water directly onto the cooking surface. DO NOT immerse the appliance or power cord in water or any other liquids or place in the dishwasher.

  2. Wipe the cover and the outside surface with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly. NOTE: DO NOT use bleach or abrasive cleansers/scouring pads to clean the plates, as it may damage the non-stick finish and/or exterior surfaces.

  3. Close the cover and store the unit.

RECOMMENDATIONS

  • DO NOT overmix cupcake batter.
  • Don’t open the cover while steam is escaping from the appliance. This is an indication that the cupcakes are not thoroughly cooked.
  • Always preheat the appliance before cooking.
  • Close the cover and let the appliance heat before cooking another batch of cupcakes.
  • Make sure the READY-TO-COOK light is on.
    DO NOT eat the first cupcakes you make with the Cupcake Maker.

RECIPES

VANILLA CUPCAKES

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 ½ cups (375 ml) all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 1 ½ tsp (7.5 ml) baking powder
  • ½ tsp (2.5 ml) salt
  • ½ cup (125 ml) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (250 ml) powdered sugar
  • 2 eggs at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup (175 ml) milk
  • 2 tsp (10 ml) vanilla extract

Vanilla frosting:

  • ½ cup (125 ml) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups (1 L) powdered sugar, sifted
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) 35% whipping cream (approx.)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch of salt

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Whisk together flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
  2. In a bowl, with an electric mixer, beat butter with sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, incorporating each well before adding the next. Stir in vanilla.
  3. With mixer on low speed, add flour mixture in 3 parts alternating with milk in 2 parts, beginning and ending with flour mixture, scraping bowl as needed between additions.
  4. Spoon batter into cupcake pans and fill to within 3 mm (0.25”) of pan rim. Do not overfill.
  5. Close the electric cupcake maker and start baking. When the steam has stopped escaping, it is an indication that the cupcakes are done. You can bake longer to achieve desired color or until a toothpick inserted into the cupcakes comes out clean.
  6. Remove cupcakes from molds and allow to cool completely before frosting.

Vanilla frosting:

  1. Beat butter until light and fluffy. With mixer on low speed, beat powdered sugar, cream, vanilla and salt until smooth.
  2. Add up to 2 tbsp (30 ml) more cream, if necessary. Increase to high speed and beat for 1 to 2 minutes or until light and fluffy.
  3. Pour frosting into a pastry bag fitted with a rounded tip. Press to decorate cupcakes. If not, spoon frosting into a resealable bag and cut off one corner. Press to decorate cupcakes, or spoon frosting directly onto cupcakes.
CHOCOLATE CUPCAKES

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3/4 cup (187.5 ml) cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ cups (375 ml) all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 1 ½ tsp (7.5 ml) baking soda
  • ½ tsp (2.5 ml) salt
  • ½ cup (125 ml) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (250 ml) sugar
  • 2 eggs at room temperature
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups (375 ml) milk
  • Vanilla frosting (see recipe on previous page)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a bowl, sift cocoa, flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.

  2. In another bowl, using an electric mixer, beat butter and sugar for about 5 minutes or until mixture is pale and light. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla and mix. Stir in reserved dry ingredients in three batches, alternating with milk (start and end with dry ingredients).

  3. Spoon batter into cupcake molds and fill to within 3 mm (0.25”) of edge of mold.
    Do not overfill.

  4. Close the electric cupcake maker and start baking. When the steam has stopped escaping, it is an indication that the cupcakes are done. You can bake longer to achieve desired color or until a toothpick inserted into the cupcakes comes out clean.

  5. Remove cupcakes from the molds and allow to cool completely before frosting.

1-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY.
This warranty covers any defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of the original purchase. Please retain your original receipt as a proof of the purchase date. Any complaints must be registered within the warranty period. The product will be repaired, replaced (parts or entire appliance) or refunded at our sole discretion.
Shipping charges may apply.

This warranty does not cover normal wear of parts or damage resulting from any of the following:
Negligent use or misuse of the product including failure to clean the product regularly, use for commercial purposes, accident, use on improper voltage or current, use contrary to the operating instructions, disassembly, repair or altercation by anyone other than a STARFRIT authorized service agent.
Stains, discoloration and minor scratches on the inside and outside of the utensil constitute normal use, do not affect performance, and are not covered by this warranty.
Decisions as to the cause of damage are the responsibility of STARFRIT. All decisions will be final.
