Safety Precautions

In order to prevent accidents or injuries to the user, other people, and damage to property, please follow the instructions below. The following signals indicate the degree of harm and damage when the product is misused.

The symbols are classified and explained as follows.This symbol indicates prohibition. This symbol indicates requirement that must be followed.

WARNING
To prevent electric shock, fire caused by short circuit, smoke, scald or injury.

  • Do not allow infants and children to play with the packaging material. (It may cause suffocation.)
  • Do not disassemble, repair or modify this appliance.
    • Contact Panasonic Service Centre for inspection or repair.
  • Do not damage the power cord or power plug. The following actions are strictly prohibited: Modifying, touching on or placing near heating elements or hot surfaces, bending, twisting, pulling, hanging / pulling over sharp edges, putting heavy objects on top, bundling the power cord or carrying the appliance by the power cord.
  • Do not plug or unplug the power plug with wet hands.
  • Do not use the appliance if the power cord or power plug is damaged or the power plug is loosely connected to the outlet.
    • If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service centre or similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
    • Insert the power plug firmly.
  • Do not immerse the motor housing, power cord or power plug in water, or splash it with water and / or any liquid.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • Keep the appliance and its power cord out of reach of children.
  • Dust off the power plug regularly.
    • Unplug the power plug, and wipe with a dry cloth.
  • Discontinue using the appliance immediately and unplug in the unlikely event that this appliance stops working properly. e. g. for abnormal occurrences or breaking down
    • The power plug or the power cord become abnormally hot.
    • The appliance power fails.
    • The motor housing is deformed, has visible damage or is abnormally hot.
    • There is crack on the bowl or other parts.
    • There is an unpleasant odour.
    • There is abnormal turning noise while in use.
    • There is another abnormality or failure.
  • Make sure the voltage indicated on the label of the appliance is the same as your local supply. Also avoid plugging other devices into the same outlet to prevent electric overheating. However, if you are connecting a number of power plugs, make sure the total wattage does not exceed the rated wattage of the outlet.
  • Be careful if hot liquid is poured into the blender jug or bowl as it can be ejected out of the appliance due to a sudden steaming.

CAUTION
To prevent electric leakage, electric shock, fire caused by short circuit, scald, injury or property damage.

  • Do not use the appliance on the following places.
  • On uneven surfaces, on carpets or tablecloths etc.
  • Place where it may be splashed with water or near a heat source.
  • Near any open water sources such as bathtubs, sinks, or other containers.
  • Near a wall or furniture.
  • Place the appliance on a firm, dry, clean flat worktop.
  • Do not leave the appliance unattended when it is in operation.
  • Do not try to remove the bowl lid or blender lid when the appliance is still operating.
  • Do not blend or place over 60 °C ingredients into blender jug, mill container or bowl.
  • Do not use hot water (over 60 °C) for cleaning purpose or fire to dry the appliance.
  • Do not put any liquids or wet ingredients into the mill container.
  • Do not open the lid and put your fingers or utensils such as spoon or fork into the blender jug while the appliance is operating. (For MK-F510 only)
  • Do not stretch the mill gasket to avoid deforming. (For MK-F510 only)
  • Do not replace any parts of the appliance with non-genuine spare parts.
  • Do not carry the appliance by holding the power cord, bowl, blender jug or mill container.
  • Do not insert any objects in the gaps of the appliance.
  • Do not process more than the maximum capacity marked on each container respectively. Follow the recommended ingredient amount for processing. (P. EN19 “Specifications”)
  • Do not push the safety pin with any implement, such as thin stick etc. (P. EN7)
  • Unplug the plug when the appliance is not in use.
  • Remove the bowl before lift up the motor housing from the table.
  • Make sure to hold the power plug when unplugging it. Never pull on the power cord.
  • Beware not to trip over or get caught in the power cord while in use.
  • In order to avoid a hazard due to inadvertent resetting of the thermal cut-out, this appliance must not be supplied through an external switching device, such as a timer, or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by the utility.
  • Care shall be taken when handling the sharp blades, emptying the bowl, blender jug, mill container and during cleaning. Do not clean blades by bare hand.
  • Always disconnect the appliance from the supply if it is left unattended and before assembling, disassembling, moving or cleaning.
  • Switch off the appliance and disconnect from supply before changing attachments or approaching parts that move in use.
  • Ensure to operate and rest the appliance as stated on specification table. (P. EN19 “Specifications”)
  • Ensure to clean the appliance especially surfaces in contact with food after use. (P. EN16-EN17 “After Use”)
  • This product is intended for household use only.

Important Information

  • Do not use the appliance outdoors.
  • Do not use the appliance for commercial purpose.
  • Do not place the mill container on any heat sources or in a microwave.
  • Do not drop the appliance or attachments to avoid damaging it.
  • Do not wrap the power cord around the motor housing.
  • Make sure the parts or attachments are set firmly before use.
  • Do not operate the appliance without ingredients.
  • Be sure the mill gasket are attached properly to prevent leakage.
  • Do not use prohibited ingredients as stated in this instructions.

Overload and Overheating Protection

In case of overload and overheating, the protection device is triggered to stop operation and it is not abnormal. After rotation stops, follow the below steps: Do not use the appliance repeatedly without any countermeasure

  1. Turn the rotary switch to “0” position, unplug the appliance.
  2. Remove the bowl/blender jug/mill container from the motor housing. Reduce the ingredients to less than half. (For blender jug, it also can add liquid.)
  3. Remove the prohibited ingredient if used.
  4. Reset the bowl/blender jug/mill container, start blending again. (P. EN11 – EN15)

If the appliance still does not operate after performing the above, the overheating protection has been activated. Turn the rotary switch to “0” position, unplug and rest the appliance for about 15 minutes or more (until motor housing returns to a normal temperature) to release overheating protection before using again. (If appliance still does not operate, contact Panasonic Service Centre for inspection or repair.)

Safety Lock

The safety pin is designed to prevent the appliance from switching on when

  • The bowl lid or citrus strainer and the bowl are not fully locked to each other.
  • The bowl, blender jug or mill container are not fully locked to the motor housing.

Note:

  • Do not push the safety pin and safety lever with any instrument, stick etc.
  • Do not pour liquids or ingredient at the safety pin and safety lever area.
  • Keep the safety pin and safety lever area clean to avoid foreign particles accumulate on the area.

Actions above ensure the safety pin and safety lever function properly. If not followed, it will damage the parts related to the safety pin and safety lever.

Food Processor

Before Use
Clean all detachable parts before using the appliance for the first time or when you have not used it for a while, and then assemble them securely. (P. EN11-EN13 “How to Use” and P. EN16-EN17 “After Use”) Unplug when assembling the unit. Before plugging in, ensure that the rotary switch is in the OFF position “0”. Please refer to page EN17 under “Storing” on how to re-position the motor housing

  1. Place the bowl on top of the motor housing until the mark aligns as shown in A.
  2. Turn the bowl clockwise until a “click” sound is heard. Ensure that the triangle mark on the bowl is aligned with the rectangle mark on the motor housing as seen in B.

To disassemble, follow the assembly steps in reverse.

Meat Loaf
Speed: 2 Operating Time (approx.): 30 sec ~ 1 min

Method

  1. Place knife blade and all ingredients in bowl in the order listed.
  2. Rotate the switch to speed 2 and operate for 30 second to 1 minute.
  3. Form the minced mixture into a loaf shape and place into a baking tin, approximately 8 cm high x 17 cm long x 10 cm wide. Place in an oven preheated to 200°C, and bake for approximately 30-40 minutes.

  1. Place all ingredients in bowl except salad oil.
  2. Rotate the switch to speed 2.
  3. Pour the salad oil into the feeding port slowly.
  4. After pouring all the salad oil, continue mixing for another 20-30 seconds.

Method

  1. Place the knife blade in bowl and add onion and parsley.
  2. Rotate the switch to speed 2 and operate for 30 second to 2 minutes.
  3. Mix all the remaining ingredients in another container by hand and add chopped onions and parsley to mix further

| Mix yeast with water and add during the processing of dough (adding yeast directly before processing may result in flaking and premature rising). If dough mix still appears flaky after initial processing, add 1 tsp of water into the mix. When large vibrations occur due to dough mix wrapping around the drive shaft, add 1 tbsp of flour. Do not reprocess the dough

after the process is complete, if the dough is not satisfactory, knead by hand.

How to Use

  1. Place the knife blade (kneading blade or whipping blade) into the bowl.
    Note:
    For the blades, ensure that the drive shaft is protruding from the blade after insertion.

  2. Put the ingredients into the bowl. Place the bowl lid on top of the bowl and turn it clockwise until a “click” sound is heard. Insert the food pusher into the feeding tube. Attach the bowl assembly onto the motor housing as seen in page EN8.Panasonic-MK-F510-Food-Processor-FIG-10

  3. Plug-in the plug into the socket and turn the rotary switch to select the speed required (Refer to “Ingredient Preparations” at page EN8-EN9).

Note:

  • Always ensure that the knife blade is inserted before adding ingredients into the bowl.
  • Do not insert hot ingredients into the bowl for processing. Always ensure that the ingredients are sufficiently cooled before inserting, i.e. boiled potato.
  • Do not exceed the stated amount of ingredients for the kneading blade as abnormal vibration may occur. (For MK-F510 only)
  • Do not overprocess the whipping cream, it may break down to form clumps of butter.
  • Using different brands of whipping cream will have varying results. It is recommended to process until the cream is sufficiently whipped.
  • Depending on the speed and amount of ingredients used, there will be significant vibrations present. In that case, hold down the bowl lid with both hands to support it during its operation.
  • For kneading, do not reprocess after the dough has formed the first time. (For MK-F510 only)
  • High amounts of butter and sugar in the dough may cause abnormal vibration when using the kneading blade. (For MK-F510 only)
  • Using flour other than bread flour on the kneading blade may cause abnormal vibration. Before processing, remove 1 ~ 2 tbsp of water from the total amount stated and add the water little by little during processing if necessary. (For MK-F510 only)

  1. Fit the projected detent of the desired blade onto the blade stand and ensure it is seated properly. Push down on the dimple on the blade as seen above until a “snap” sound is heard.
    Note:

  2. Beware of the sharp edges on the blades while inserting into the blade stand.

  3. To remove the blade, turn over the blade stand and push down on the reverse side of the dimple on the blade.

  4. Insert finger and thumb into the finger holes to grip the blade stand. Place the assembled blade stand into the bowl. Attach the bowl to the motor housing as seen in page EN8, then place the blade stand into the bowl. Place the bowl lid on top of the bowl and turn it clockwise until a “click” sound is heard.
    Note:

  5. Plug-in the plug into the socket and turn the rotary switch to select the speed required (Refer to the “Ingredient Preparations” at page EN10). Insert the ingredients into the feeding tube and push down with the food pusher

Note:

  • When using long and narrow ingredients, place it against the front wall of the feeding tube as indicated in Figure 1, for support while in operation to avoid uneven processing.
  • Dispose of any remaining lumps of unprocessed ingredients.
  • Align high fibre ingredients as indicated in Figure 2 for a consistent processing result

Citrus Press Attachment (For MK-F510 only)

  1. Place the citrus strainer onto the bowl. Turn it clockwise until a “click” sound is heard. Attach the citrus cone onto the drive shaft.
  2. Attach the bowl assembly onto the motor housing as seen in page EN8. Plug-in the plug into the socket and turn the rotary switch to select the speed requiredPanasonic-MK-F510-Food-Processor-FIG-16
  3. Place the half cut fruit with the cut side on top of the citrus cone and press down firmly to extract juice.
  4. After the processing is completed, return the rotary switch to OFF position “0” and unplug from the socket. Remove the citrus press attachment from the bowl before removing the processed ingredients.Panasonic-MK-F510-Food-Processor-FIG-17

Note:

  • Always ensure that the citrus cone is placed onto the citrus strainer before usage.
  • Stop the processing periodically to remove the pulp remaining on the citrus strainer to ease the juice extraction process.
  • It is not recommended to operate the citrus press attachment at speed 2.

Blender (for MK-F510 only)

Before Use

  1. Place the blender jug on top of the motor housing. Ensure that the mark on the blender jug is aligned with the triangle mark on the motor housing as seen in position A.
  2. Turn the blender jug clockwise until a “click” sound is heard. Ensure that the mark on the blender jug is aligned with the rectangle mark on the motor housing as seen in B.

How to Use

  1. Insert ingredients into the blender jug and close with the blender lid. Attach the blender attachment onto the motor housing as seen above. Plug-in the plug into the socket and turn the rotary switch to select the speed required.
  2. After the processing is completed, return the rotary switch to OFF position “0” and unplug from the socket. Remove the blender attachment from the motor housing and proceed to remove the ingredients.Panasonic-MK-F510-Food-Processor-FIG-20

Note:

  • Maximum working capacity: 1 L.
  • Prohibited ingredients for blender jug: Refer to page EN5.
  • It is not recommended to blend hard and viscous ingredients. However, if necessary, cut the hard ingredients into small pieces (e.g. cut carrot into 1 cm³ cubes) and fill the blender jug with the ingredients not exceeding half its rated capacity.
  • Do not fill exceeding the maximum level and reduce ingredients when appliance makes abnormal sound or vibration during operation.
  • Add in soft ingredients (fruits, vegetables) into the blender jug before adding in other ingredients.
  • If the blender blade gets stuck, switch off immediately and unplug. Do not attempt to proceed to unstuck the ingredients with your fingers, use an object like a rubber spatula instead.
  • During blending, there is a possibility that the ingredients will splash out of the blender lid hole. In the event that it splashes out, wipe it off with a dry cloth.
  • Do not operate exceeding the rated operation duration (3 min ON, 1 min OFF).

How to Use

  1. Turn the mill container upside down and fill in the ingredients without exceeding the maximum level indicated. Place the mill container base into the mill container and turn it clockwise until a “click” sound is heard.

  3. After the processing is completed, return the rotary switch to OFF position “0” and unplug from the socket. Remove the dry mill attachment from the motor housing and proceed to remove the ingredients

Note:

  • While removing the ingredients, be careful of the cutting blades.
  • Do not operate exceeding the rated operation duration (1 min ON, 2 min OFF).
  • Prohibited ingredients: Refer to page EN5.
  • Do not operate the unit with empty dry mill.
  • Do not fill exceeding the maximum level and reduce ingredients when the appliance makes an abnormal sound or vibrates during operation

After Use

Cleaning

Pre-wash
The pre-wash enables easier cleaning. It can be used for the knife blade and blender attachment. To pre-wash, simply follow the steps below

  1. Put the used attachment inside the bowl, fill the bowl with water until the attachment is submerged in water (max. 500 mL). Place the bowl lid on top of the bowl and turn it clockwise until a “click” sound is heard
  2. For the blender attachment, fill 500 mL of water into the blender jug and cover with the blender lid. Plug-in the plug into the socket.Panasonic-MK-F510-Food-Processor-FIG-23
  3. Food Processor : Turn the rotary switch to “P” 5 ~ 10 times.
  4. Blender: Turn the rotary switch to select speed 2 and operate for 10 ~ 20 seconds.
  5. Return the rotary switch to OFF position “0” and unplug from the socket. Remove the attachments and proceed for cleaning.
  6. Bowl: When cleaning, if ingredients falls into the handle hole accidentally, turn the bowl upside down, then rinse with waterPanasonic-MK-F510-Food-Processor-FIG-24

Storing
Ensure all attachments and the bowl are removed from the motor housing prior to storage.

  1. To release the rubber suckers suction of the motor housing by the following steps:First, pull up the ears of the 2 rubber suckers on the back with your hands, and then lift the tail of the body to leave from the desktop. 2nd, pull up the ears of the front 2 rubber suckers, and then lift the whole body away from the desktop.
  2. Store the knife blade inside the bowl. The blade storage stand is included to store the slicing blade, the shedding blade and French fry blade. Place blade storage stand into the bowl.
    Note:
    When storing, in order to avoid injury, grip the projected detent of blade and align the circle on the blade with the circle on the blade storage stand, then put it into the blade storage stand.Panasonic-MK-F510-Food-Processor-
