PRODUCT SAFETY
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
- Read all instructions. Misuse of appliance may result in personal injury.
- European Union only: Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
- European Union only: This appliance shall not be used by children. Keep the appliance out of reach of children. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
- To protect against risk of electrical shock, do not put the Blade Coffee Grinder, USB Adapter, USB Cable, or Battery in water or other liquid.
- Turn the appliance off ( ), remove the Battery when not in use, before assembling or disassembling parts and before cleaning.
- Avoid contacting moving parts.
- Do not operate any appliance with a damaged Battery or charger or after the appliance malfunctions or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest Authorised Service Centre for examination, repair or adjustment.
- If the Battery is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
- The use of accessories/attachments not recommended or sold by the KitchenAid may cause fire, electric shock or injury to persons.
- Keep hands and utensils away from moving blade while grinding food to reduce the risk of severe injury to persons or damage to the Blade Coffee Grinder. A scraper may be used only when the Blade Coffee Grinder is not running.
- Blade is sharp. Care should be taken when emptying the Bowl and during cleaning.
- Be certain cover is securely locked in place before operating Blade Coffee Grinder.
- Do not attempt to defeat the cover interlock mechanism.
- Refer to the “Care and Cleaning” section for instructions on cleaning the surfaces in contact with food.
- Disconnect the Battery from the appliance before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing appliance. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the appliance accidentally.
- Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to Battery, picking up or carrying the appliance. Carrying the appliance with your finger on the switch or energizing appliance that have the switch on invites accidents.
- Recharge only with the charger specified by KitchenAid. A charger that is suitable for one type of Battery may create a risk of fire when used with another Battery.
- Use appliances only with KitchenAid 12 V Battery. Use of any other batteries may create a risk of injury and fire.
- When the Battery is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the Battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
- Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the Battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the Battery may cause irritation or burns.
- Do not use a Battery or appliance that is damaged or modified. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behaviour resulting in fire, explosion or risk of injury.
- Do not expose a Battery or appliance to fire or excessive temperature. Exposure to fire or temperature above 129°C may cause explosion.
- Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the Battery or appliance outside of the temperature range specified in the instructions. Charging improperly or at temperatures outside of the specified range may damage the Battery and increase the risk of fire.
- Never service damaged Battery. Service of Battery should only be performed by the manufacturer or authorised service providers.
- Allow the appliance to cool completely before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
- Check hopper for presence of foreign objects before using.
- Do not use Coffee Grinder in rain or wet conditions. Do not expose to rain-store indoors.
- Do not place the appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
- Do not use the appliance for other than intended use.
- Do not modify or attempt to repair the appliance or the Battery.
- Do not operate Blade Grinder continuously for more than 30 seconds.
- Remove empty Batteries from the appliance and safely dispose.
- Remove the Battery if the appliance is stored unused for a long period.
- If the Battery leaks, remove the Battery from the appliance and do not use the Battery again.
- Remove rechargeable Batteries from the appliance before charging.
- IMPORTANT: Use only with approved USB adapter by market.
- This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
- staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
- farmhouses;
- by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
- bed and breakfast type environments.

NOTE: If the USB Adapter does not fit fully in the power source, contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the USB Adapter in any way.
NOTE: Do not use or store batteries or products in locations where the temperature is less than 10°C or more than 40°C.
LITHIUM-ION BATTERY OPERATED PRODUCT DISPOSAL
Always dispose the Battery operated products according to federal, state, and
local regulations. Contact a recycling agency in your area for recycling
locations.
GETTING STARTED
BEFORE FIRST USE
- Charge the Battery until it is fully charged.
- Clean all the parts and accessories (see “Care and Cleaning” section).
- Remove all packaging materials, if present.
NOTE: Some dust may be on the product. This is due to the recycled materials used in packaging. This can be cleaned with a soft towel.
BATTERY CHARGING
USING THE USB CABLE
- Attach the USB Cable to the adapter. Connect the other end of the USB Cable to the Battery.
- Plug the USB Adapter into a power source.
PRODUCT USAGE
OPERATING BLADE COFFEE GRINDER
NOTE: Make sure the Battery is fully charged before using.
To Use Blade Coffee Grinder:
-
Make sure the inside of the Top Cover is free of coffee grinds or residue.
-
Place the Bowl in the grinder Base until it is seated properly.
-
Fill the Bowl to the desired amount of beans up to the MAX fill line.
-
Place the Top Cover onto the Bowl and twist clockwise (right) to lock. The Top Cover will click when locked into place.
NOTE: Make sure both Top Cover and Bowl are in position; otherwise, the Coffee Grinder will not operate. -
Insert the Battery on the Battery slot located at the back of the appliance, making sure it is aligned. The LED will light and display the Battery level for five seconds, then turn off.

Press down on the Button to start processing. For optimum grinding results, do not pulse the top Button. Continue grinding until all the beans are ground to the desired consistency.

To stop processing, release the Button.
-
Wait until the blade has stopped rotating and remove Top Cover.

Remove Bowl from the Motor Housing.
-
Pour out ground coffee. A scraper may be needed to remove residual coffee grounds from the Bowl.
NOTE: If coffee grounds stick to sides of Bowl, use a utensil to remove grounds from Bowl when appliance is off and avoid fingers coming into contact with the blade.
NOTE: The coffee grinder cup is not intended to grind spices. -
Press and hold the Battery Unlock Button to remove the Battery.
CARE AND CLEANING
IMPORTANT: Allow the appliance to cool completely before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.

Always remove the Battery from the Coffee Grinder before cleaning.

Remove the Bowl and Top Cover. Wash in hot, soapy water, rinse, and dry. Bowl and Top Cover can also be washed in the dishwasher (top rack only). After removing from the dishwasher, allow to cool before reassembling.

Wipe the Motor Housing clean with a damp, soft cloth.
NOTE: Do not use abrasive cleaners. Do not immerse the Motor Housing in water. -
Reassemble your Coffee Grinder after cleaning.
ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT WASTE DISPOSAL
DISPOSAL OF PACKING MATERIAL
The packing material is recyclable and is marked with the recycle symbol . The
various parts of the packing must therefore be disposed of responsibly and in
full compliance with local authority regulations governing waste disposal.
RECYCLING THE PRODUCT
- This appliance is marked in compliance with law in the EU and UK covering, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE).
- By ensuring this product is disposed of correctly, you will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health, which could otherwise be caused by inappropriate waste handling of this product.

The Guarantee applies in addition to and does not limit or affect the
statutory warranty rights of the end-customer against the seller of the
product. In summary, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 says products must be as
described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. During the expected
lifespan of your product your legal rights entitle you to the following:
- Up to 30 days: if your product is faulty, then you can get an immediate refund.
- Up to six months: if your product can’t be repaired or replaced, then you’re entitled to a full refund, in most cases.
- Up to six years: if your product does not last a reasonable length of time you may be entitled to some money back.

SCOPE AND TERMS OF THE GUARANTEE

The Guarantor grants the Guarantee for the products mentioned under Section 1.b) which a consumer has purchased from a seller or a company of the KitchenAid-Group within the following countries: U.K., Ireland, or the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The Guarantee period commences on the date of purchase, i.e. the date on which a consumer purchased the product from a dealer or a company of the KitchenAid-Group.

The Guarantee covers the defect-free nature of the product.

The Guarantor shall provide the consumer with the following services under this Guarantee, at the choice of the Guarantor, if a defect occurs during the Guarantee period:
- Repair of the defective product or product part, or
- Replacement of the defective product or product part. If a product is no longer available, the Guarantor is entitled to exchange the product for a product of equal or higher value.

The costs of repair, including spare parts, and any postage costs (if applicable) for the delivery of a defect-free product or product part shall be borne by the Guarantor. The Guarantor shall also bear the postage costs for returning the defective product or product part if the Guarantor or the country specific KitchenAid customer service centre requested the return of the defective product or product part. However, the consumer shall bear the costs of appropriate packaging for the return of the defective product or product part.
To be able to make a claim under the Guarantee, the consumer must present the receipt or invoice of the purchase of the product.
LIMITATIONS OF THE GUARANTEE
- The Guarantee applies only to products used for private purposes and not for professional or commercial purposes.
- The Guarantee does not apply in the case of normal wear and tear, improper or abusive use, failure to follow the instructions for use, use of the product at the wrong electrical voltage, installation and operation in violation of the applicable electrical regulations, and use of force (e.g. blows).
- The Guarantee does not apply if the product has been modified or converted, e.g. conversions from 120 V products to 220- 240 V products.
- The provision of Guarantee services does not extend the Guarantee period, nor does it initiate the commencement of a new Guarantee period. The Guarantee period for installed spare parts ends with the Guarantee period for the entire product.

Further or other claims, in particular claims for damages, are excluded unless
liability is mandatory by law.
After expiry of the Guarantee period or for products for which the Guarantee
does not apply, the KitchenAid customer service centres are still available to
the end-customer for questions and information.
