Intended use

This device is an outdoor Wi-Fi camera that works through a WLAN network and the “Smart Life – Smart Living” mobile application software. Motion sensors trigger push notifications to your mobile device and an infrared camera will activate when light levels drop below a certain level.
Using a microSD card (not included), short video clips can be saved when the motion sensor is activated. The IP65 rating offers protection against dust and rain.
For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you use the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In addition, improper use can result in short circuits, fires, electric shocks or other hazards. Read the instructions carefully and store them in a safe place. Make this product available to third parties only together with its operating instructions.

Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety information. General information
  • The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
  • Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. This may become dangerous playing material for children.
  • Protect the appliance from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high humidity, moisture, flammable gases, steam and solvents.
  • Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
  • If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
    • is visibly damaged,
    • is no longer working properly,
    • has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
    • has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
  • Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can damage the product.
  • Consult an expert when in doubt about the operation, safety or connection of the appliance.
  • Maintenance, modifications and repairs must only be completed by a technician or an authorised repair centre.
  • If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions, contact our technical support service or other technical personnel.
Power adaptor

Do not modify or repair mains supply components including mains plugs, mains cables, and power supplies. Do not use damaged components. Risk of death by electric shock!

  • The mains outlet must be located near to the device and be easily accessible.

  • As power supply, only use the supplied mains adaptor.

  • Only connect the power adaptor to a normal mains socket connected to the public supply.
    Before plugging in the power adaptor, check whether the voltage stated on the power adaptor complies with the voltage of your electricity supplier.

  • Never connect or disconnect power adaptors if your hands are wet.

  • Never unplug the power adaptor from the mains socket by pulling on the cable; always use the grips on the plug.

  • When setting up the product, make sure that the cable is not pinched, kinked or damaged by sharp edges.

  • Always lay the cables so that nobody can trip over or become entangled in them. This poses a risk of injury.

  • For safety reasons, disconnect the power adaptor from the mains socket during storms.

Privacy and surveillance
  • It is the responsibility of the user to be aware of all applicable laws and regulations that prohibit or limit the use of cameras, and to comply with the applicable laws and regulations.
  • Recording and circulating an image of an individual may constitute an infringement of their privacy for which you may be held liable.
  • Ask for authorization before filming individuals, particularly if you want to keep your recordings and/or circulate images on the Internet or any other medium.
  • Do not circulate degrading image(s) or one which could undermine the reputation or dignity of an individual.
  • In your country it may be a legal requirement to display a warning when using surveillance cameras on your property. In such cases it is important to display a warning sticker where potential intruders can see it.
  • You should not point cameras where surveillance extends to public areas, and video recordings should not identify people in a public space.
Ingress protection
  • The device has an IP65 rating. It is protected from dust, and low pressure water jets from any direction.
  • To maintain the ingress protection rating:
    • The power cable should be connected to the adaptor in a weatherproof socket box, or routed indoors via a weatherproofed cable inlet.
    • The compartment cover should be properly sealed.

  • Before drilling, check for concealed wires or pipes beneath the surface that could be damaged or cause harm.

Installation

Important: Remove the camera screen protector film before use.

Choosing a location
  • The camera recording angle and sensor detection angle is affected by the placement of the device.
  • Check that the device is within range of your Wi-Fi access point. Use of other 2.4 GHz products e.g. wireless networks and microwave ovens may cause interference.
  • You may need to set up a wireless repeater to improve the connection.
  • The power cable is 2.3 m long. Make sure there is a suitable power outlet close enough to your mounting location.
Power supply

Important:

  • Do not use a USB port of a computer, keyboard, or USB hub without a power adapter as the current supplied by these ports is insufficient.
  • If used outdoors, the cable and the adapter must be protected against water and dust.
Mounting

Important: Check that the provided screws are appropriate for the surface material. If in doubt consult a professional.

  1. Use the holes on the mounting plate as a template to mark where to drill.
  2. If needed, insert the plastic dowels using a mallet.
  3. Fix the mount to the wall using the supplied screws.
  4. Screw the device onto the mount.
  5. Make sure the device is securely attached to the mounting bracket before letting go.

Getting ready for operation

Remove and replace compartment cover

Important:

  • Always replace the cover after inserting the SD card or pairing the camera.
  • Take care not to damage the speaker wires when removing the compartment cover.
  • Make sure the rubber gasket is properly seated in the groove before replacing the compartment cover.
    1. Release the two compartment cover screws to remove the cover.
Install / replace microSD card

Important: The microSD card should be formatted using the FAT32 file system. Refer to your computer software instructions for information about how to do this.

  1. Insert the microSD card into slot, it will “click” into place.
  2. Remove using the tip of your finger to press down until it “clicks”, then release to eject.

Note: Pair the device with the app before replacing the compartment cover.

Turning on and pairing

Power on
  • The camera will turn on when connected to the power supply.
  • It will take a few moments for the camera to load up.
Pairing
  • If the camera is has not been paired with the app:
    • You will hear two beeps.
    • The beeps will continue at 15 second intervals until the camera has been paired.
    • If needed, see section “Reset the camera” to enter pairing mode.
  • If the camera is already paired with the app: The camera will beep once and function as usual.

Reset the camera

Perform a reset if the camera is not functioning correctly or you would like to enter pairing mode.

Important:

  • Any previous connections will be lost after resetting.
  • If previously paired with an app, you must also “Remove Device” via the app after the device has been reset. Refer to the app operating instructions for information about how to “Remove Device”.

1. Press and hold the Reset button 4-5 seconds until you hear a long beep, then wait a few moments for the system to restart.
2. Repeat the pairing process after you hear the startup tone and the camera enters pairing mode.

Application connection tips

Important:

  • * This device is only compatible with 2.4 GHz networks.
    • Enter the exact “Wi-Fi Name“ (case sensitive).
  • Have the password for your Wi-Fi router ready.
  • Connect the mobile phone or tablet to same Wi-Fi network the camera will connect to.

Note: Pairing: “Add device” → “Video Surveillance” → “Smart Camera”

Operation

Low light recording

Important:

  • If the camera is placed behind glass, glare from infrared LED lights may overexpose the image.
  • The device is equipped with a light sensor that automatically triggers “night vision” when ambient light falls below a certain level.
  • The recorded image will be in black and white.
Motion detection
  • With a microSD card inserted:
    • 15 second clips will be saved until the SD card is full.
    • You will receive notifications on your phone.
  • If no microSD is inserted, or if the SD card is full:
    • No clips will be saved.
    • You will receive notifications on your phone, then open the app to view live video (with option to save to mobile device memory).

Care and cleaning

Important: Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions as they can cause damage to the housing and malfunctioning.

  • Disconnect from the power supply before cleaning.
  • Clean the product with a fibre-free cloth, slightly dampen if needed.
  • Do not apply excessive force to the solar panels during the cleaning process.

Disposal

This symbol must appear on any electrical and electronic equipment placed on the EU market. This symbol indicates that this device should not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste at the end of its service life.
