SD-10 Digital Colour Spectrophotometer

Attach the strap.
Connect to your computer or USB AC adapter to charge the battery.
The light around the button on the top turns white while charging. When charging is complete, it turns off. It may take approx. five hours when connecting to a computer, approx. three hours when connecting to a USB AC adapter.
Hold down the power button until the LCD screen turns on.
Select a language, date, and time.
Performing Spot Color Measurement
Follow the on-screen calibration instructions when they are displayed. When calibration is complete, the color measurement screen is displayed.

Important Safety Instructions
- Use of another USB cable may cause fire or shock. Do not use the USB cable with any other equipment.
- Except as specifically explained in your documentation, do not attempt to service the product yourself.
- Do not let the USB cable become damaged or frayed.
- Do not place or store the product outdoors, near excessive dirt or dust, water, heat sources, or in locations subject to shocks, vibrations, high temperature or humidity.
- Take care not to spill liquid on the product and not to handle the product with wet hands.
- Keep this product at least 22 cm (8.7 inches) away from cardiac pacemakers. Radio waves from this product may adversely affect the operation of cardiac pacemakers.
- If the LCD screen is damaged, contact your dealer. If the liquid crystal solution gets on your hands, wash them thoroughly with soap and water. If the liquid crystal solution gets into your eyes, flush them immediately with water. If discomfort or vision problems remain after a thorough flushing, see a doctor immediately
- If the battery is not fully charged within the specified time, stop charging. Otherwise, the battery could become hot, emit smoke, rupture, or catch fire.
- Do not place the product in a microwave oven or a high-pressure container. Otherwise, the battery could become hot, emit smoke, rupture, or catch fire.
- If liquid leaks from the product (or the product gives off a bad smell), remove the product from any area containing flammable objects immediately. Otherwise, electrolytes leaked from the battery may catch fire, emit smoke, and possibly rupture the battery.
- If battery acid gets in your eyes, immediately rinse your eyes thoroughly with fresh water without rubbing them, and then see a doctor immediately. Otherwise, permanent eye damage could result.
- If battery acid gets on your skin, immediately rinse the affected area thoroughly with water, and then see a doctor immediately.
- Do not drop or throw the product or subject it to strong shocks. Otherwise, the battery could leak or the protection circuit in the battery could be damaged. As a result, the battery could become hot, emit smoke, rupture, or catch fire.
- Do not use or leave the product in a hot location (more than 40 °C (104 ˚F)), such as near a fire or a heater. Otherwise, the plastic separator could melt and the individual cells could short-circuit. As a result, the battery could become hot, emit smoke, rupture, or catch fire.
- Do not use the product if it is leaking or damaged in any way. Otherwise, the battery could become hot, emit smoke, rupture, or catch fire.
- Do not leave the product in a vehicle. Otherwise, the battery could overheat.
- Do not charge the product near an open flame or in very hot locations. If the protection circuit in the battery is activated, you will not be able to charge the battery. If the protection circuit is damaged, the battery could become hot, emit smoke, rupture, or catch fire.
- Dispose of the battery (D181A) in accordance with local laws.
- Always keep this guide handy.
