Introduction

Congratulations on the purchase of your new appliance.
You have selected a high-quality product. The operating instructions are part of this product. They contain important information about safety, usage and disposal. Before using the product, please familiarize yourself with all operating and safety instructions. Use the product only as described and for the specified range of applications. Please also pass these operating instructions on to any future owner.

Intended use

This appliance is intended exclusively for grilling and heating food indoors. This appliance is intended solely for use in private households. It is not suitable for commercial use.

Package contents and transport inspection

  • Do not allow children to play with packaging materials.
  1. Remove all parts of the appliance and the operating instructions from the box.
  2. Remove all packaging materials as well as any protective films and labels from the appliance.

NOTE

  • Check the package for completeness and signs of visible damage. If the delivery is incomplete or damage has occurred as a result of defective packaging or during transport, contact Customer Service.

The appliance is supplied with the following components as standard:

  • Pizza/raclette grill (base and griddle)
  • 8 pans
  • 8 spatulas
  • Pizza dough cutter
  • Operating instructions

Controls and functions

Use the switches 2 /   3 to switch the heating elements on and off. Use the upper heating element for grilling and gratinating. To bake pizza dough, also switch on the lower heating element.
As soon as you press the switches 2 /   3, the heating elements start to heat up and the integrated operating lights indicate that the heating elements are in operation.
The temperature control 4 can be used to set the temperature level of the upper heating element. The lower heating element has a preset temperature and cannot be adjusted.

Safety information

DANGER! ELECTRIC SHOCK!

  • Check the appliance for visible external damage before use. Do not operate an appliance that has been damaged or dropped.
  • Do not expose the appliance to rain, and never use it in a humid or wet environment. Ensure that the power cable never becomes wet or moist during operation.
  • The appliance must be connected to a mains socket with a protective earth.
  • Protect the power cable from contact with hot appliance parts. Never use the appliance near naked flames, a hotplate or a heated oven.
  • The power cable must be checked for signs of damage at regular intervals. If the power cable is damaged, the appliance may no longer be used.
  • To avoid potential risks, damaged mains cables should be replaced by the manufacturer, their customer service department or a similarly qualified person.
  • The appliance must not come into contact with moisture such as rain or water.

Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquids! There is a risk of fatal electric shock if residual liquids come into contact with live components during operation.

  • This appliance may be used by children over the age of 8 and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or by those without experience and/or knowledge, if they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the appliance and have understood the potential risks.
  • Do not allow children to play with the appliance.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children unless they are older than 8 years of age and are supervised.
  • Children younger than eight years of age must be kept away from the appliance and the power cable.
  • After use, allow the appliance to cool down completely before cleaning it! Risk of burns!
  • If possible, set up the appliance close to a power socket. Ensure that the power plug is quickly reachable in case of danger and that the cable poses no risk of tripping.
  • Provide a stable location for the appliance.

Caution! Hot surface!

  • The appliance and the accessories become very hot during operation. During operation, touch only the controls and the handles.

ATTENTION! PROPERTY DAMAGE!

  • Do not use an external timer switch or a separate remote control system to operate the appliance.
  • Never leave the appliance unattended during operation.

  • Ensure that the appliance, the power cable and the plug do not come into contact with heat sources such as hotplates or naked flames.
  • Do not use charcoal or similar fuels to operate the appliance!
  • Do not use metal tools such as knives, forks, etc. when re-moving food from the griddle or pans, as they may damage the non-stick coating. If the non-stick coating is damaged, stop using the appliance.
  • Operate the appliance only with the original accessories supplied.

Before first use

  1. Clean all of the components as described in the section “Cleaning and care” to remove any packaging residue. Make sure that all parts are completely dry before operating the appliance.

  2. Set up the appliance as described in section “Setting up”.

  3. Use the switches 2 /   3to turn on both heating elements; the integrated operating lights light up.

  4. Turn the temperature control 4 to MAX and heat up the appliance for around 20 minutes.
    NOTE

    • The first time the appliance heats up, a small amount of smoke and odour may result from production-related residues. This is normal and is complete-ly harmless. Ensure sufficient ventilation; for example, by opening a win-dow.
  5. Afterwards, turn the temperature control 4 back to MIN, switch off the heating elements with the switches 2 /   3, unplug the mains plug from the mains socket and allow the appliance to cool down.

  6. Clean the griddle 1 again as described in the section “Cleaning and Care”.

  7. Ensure that all parts are completely dry before operating the appliance again.

Setting up

WARNING! RISK OF FIRE!

  • Never place the appliance underneath wall cupboards or next to curtains, cupboard walls or other flammable objects.
  • Always place the appliance on a heat-resistant surface.
  1. Place the appliance on a clean and level heat-resistant surface. Ensure that you do not place the appliance directly next to a wall or a cupboard. Each person should have unimpaired access to the pans 6.
  2. Place the griddle 1 on the appliance with the grooved grilling surface facing upwards.
  3. Insert the plug into a mains power socket.
Operation

WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!

  • The appliance and the accessories become very hot during operation. Only touch the controls and the handles during operation.
Raclette

ATTENTION! PROPERTY DAMAGE!

  • Do not use metal utensils such as knives, forks, etc. when you remove food from the griddle 1 or from the pans 6 as they could damage the non-stick coating. If the non-stick coating is damaged, stop using the appliance.
  1. Lightly oil the griddle 1 and the pans 6 on the inside.

  2. Use the   switch 3 to turn on the upper heating element for the grill and for gratinating the pans 6 and turn the temperature control 4 to MAX.
    Preheat the appliance for about 10 minutes.

  3. Turn the temperature control 4 towards MIN if you want to reduce the temperature. Turn the temperature control 4 towards MAX if you want to increase the temperature again.

  4. Fill the pans 6 with the desired ingredients. Make sure that the pans 6 are not overfilled; otherwise, the food could get too close to the heating elements or even touch them!

  5. Place the pans 6 onto the upper shelf of the appliance. The slight indentations 5 help them sit more firmly.

  6. Remove the pans 6 from the appliance as soon as the ingredients are cooked.
    WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!

    • Apart from the insulated handles, the pans 6 are very hot! Therefore, only touch them by the handle!
  7. Push the contents of the pan 6 onto your plate using the spatula 7.
    You can now refill the pans 6 and push them back into the appliance. You can place used, empty pans 6 in the lower shelf of the appliance as long as the lower heating element is switched off. Do not place the pans 6 there when the lower heating element is switched on, as the food residues would be burnt onto the pans 6.
    NOTE

    • Because of the non-stick coating in the pans 6, it is not necessary to re-grease them before every use.
  8. When you have finished using the appliance, turn the temperature control 4 to MIN, turn off the upper heating element with the   switch 3, unplug the mains plug from the mains socket and let appliance cool down.

Grill

WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!

  • Very moist or frozen food can splash 1 strongly when placed on a hot griddle. Thaw frozen food before grilling and pat moist food slightly dry.
  • Always keep a sufficient distance from the hot grill plate 1.

ATTENTION! PROPERTY DAMAGE!

  • Do not use metal utensils such as knives, forks, etc. when you remove food from the griddle 1 or from the pans 6 as they could damage the non-stick coating. If the non-stick coating is damaged, stop using the appliance.

Using the griddle 1, you can grill meat, fish or vegetables on their own or at the same time as using the raclette.

  1. Lightly oil the griddle 1.
  2. Use the   switch 3 to turn on the upper heating element for the grill and turn the temperature control 4 to MAX. Preheat the appliance for about 10 minutes.
  3. Turn the temperature control 4 towards MIN if you want to reduce the temperature. Turn the temperature control 4 towards MAX if you want to increase the temperature again.
  4. Place the food to be grilled onto the griddle 1 and turn it occasionally as required.
  5. Remove the cooked food from the griddle 1 with a non-metallic object.
  6. When you have finished using the appliance, turn the temperature control 4 to MIN, turn off the upper heating element using the switch 3, unplug the mains plug from the mains socket and let appliance cool down.

Select temperature setting
The temperature setting and how long the food needs to be grilled depend on many factors, such as the type of meat or fish, the initial temperature of the food, how thick it is cut and personal preferences. Use the following guidelines to set the temperature:

Temperature setting suitable for:
Low to medium temperature Fish/seafood, vegetables
Medium to high temperature Game, poultry
High temperature Meat, meat substitutes
Pizza

  • Always keep a sufficient distance from the hot grill plate 1.

You can use the pizza function separately or at the same time as the raclette or grill.

  1. Use the   switch 3 to turn on the upper heating element for the grill and for gratinating the pans 6. Use the switch 2 to turn on the heating element for baking the pizza dough. Preheat the appliance for about 10 minutes.

  2. If you want to reduce the temperature of the upper heating element, turn the temperature control 4 towards MIN. Turn the temperature control 4 towards MAX if you want to increase the temperature again.

  3. Roll out the pizza dough to a thickness of 2–3 mm and cut out suitable pizza dough pieces using the pizza cutter 8.

  4. Lightly oil the pans

  5. Place the pizza dough pieces in the pans 6 and top them with the desired ingredients. Make sure that the pans 6 are not overfilled; otherwise, the food could get too close to the heating elements or even touch them!

  6. Place the pans 6 onto the upper shelf of the appliance. The slight indentations 5 help them sit more firmly.

  7. Remove the pans 6 from the appliance as soon as the ingredients are cooked. Depending on the topping and thickness of the dough, the pizza will be ready after 8 to 10 minutes. We recommend using the spatula 7 to turn the mini pizza 180° in the pan 6 after approx. 4-5 minutes to achieveeven browning.
    WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!

    • Apart from the insulated handles, the pans 6 are very hot! Therefore, only touch them by the handle!
  8. Push the contents of the pan 6 onto your plate using the spatula 7.
    You can now refill the pans 6 and push them back into the appliance. Do not place used, empty pans 6 into the lower shelf of the appliance while the lower heating element is switched on. Any remaining food in the pans 6 could burn.
    NOTE

  9. When you have finished using the appliance, turn the temperature control 4 to MIN, switch off both heating elements using the switches 2 /   3, unplug the mains plug from the mains socket and let appliance cool down.

Recipe for pizza dough
Ingredients (for around 25 mini pizzas)

  • 250 g wheat flour
  • 150 ml lukewarm water
  • 5 g fresh yeast or 2 g dried yeast
  • 5 g salt
  • 5 g sugar
  • 0 ml olive oil
Preparation
  1. Dissolve the yeast and sugar in a little lukewarm water.
  2. Mix the flour with the salt, oil and yeast-sugar solution in a bowl.
  3. Gradually add the remaining water and work it into the dough.
  4. Knead the dough until it has a smooth surface.
  5. Cover the dough with a clean cloth and leave it to rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  6. Then roll out the dough to a thickness of approx. 2–3 mm and cut out mini pizzas using the 8 pizza cutter.

Cleaning and maintenance

DANGER! ELECTRIC SHOCK!

  • Before cleaning the appliance, disconnect the power plug from the mains power socket!
    There is a risk of electric shock!
    Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids!

WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!

  • Always allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning it. There is a risk of burns!

ATTENTION! PROPERTY DAMAGE!

  • Do not use abrasive or aggressive cleaning materials. They can irreparably damage the surfaces!

NOTE

  • It is best to clean the appliance as soon as it has cooled down. This makes food residues easier to remove.
  • Wipe the appliance housing and the heating elements with a moist cloth. If necessary, apply a mild detergent to the cloth and wipe with a cloth moistened only with water. Dry everything thoroughly.
  • Clean the griddle 1, the pans 6, the spatula 7 and the pizza cutter 8 in warm soapy water. Dry all parts thoroughly after cleaning.

Storage

  • After it has cooled down, store the cleaned appliance in a dust-free and dry location.

Troubleshooting

Error Cause Solution
The appliance is not working. The plug is not connected to the mains power.

Insert the plug into a mains power socket.
The mains power socket is defective.| Use a different mains power socket.
The appliance is defective.| Contact the Customer Service department.
The overheat protection has been triggered.| Disconnect the plug from the mains power socket and wait until the appliance has cooled down. If the appliance still does not function after cooling down, contact the

Customer Service department.

If the malfunction cannot be corrected using one of the suggestions above, or if you have found some other kind of malfunction, please contact our Customer Service department.

Disposal

Never dispose of the appliance in your normal domestic waste. This product is subject to the provisions of European Directive 2012/19/EU.
Dispose of the appliance via an approved disposal company or your municipal waste facility. Please comply with all applicable regulations. Please contact your waste disposal facility if you are in any
doubt.

Your local community or municipal authorities can provide information on how to dispose of the worn-out product.

The packaging is made from environmentally friendly material and can be dis- posed of at your local recycling plant.
Dispose of the packaging in an environmentally friendly manner.
Note the labelling on the packaging and separate the packaging material components for disposal, if necessary. The packaging material is labelled with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with the following meanings:
1–7: plastics, 20–22: paper and cardboard, 80–98: composites.

Dear Customer,
This appliance has a 3-year warranty valid from the date of purchase. If this product has any faults, you, the buyer, have certain statutory rights. Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by the warranty described below.

Warranty conditions
The warranty period starts on the date of purchase. Please keep your receipt in a safe place. This will be required as proof of purchase.
If any material or manufacturing fault occurs within three years of the date of purchase of the product, we will either repair or replace the product for you or refund the purchase price (at our discretion). This warranty service requires that you present the defective appliance and the proof of purchase (receipt) within the three-year warranty period, along with a brief written description of the fault and of when it occurred.
If the defect is covered by the warranty, your product will either be repaired or replaced by us. The repair or replacement of a product does not signify the be-ginning of a new warranty period.

Warranty period and statutory claims for defects
The warranty period is not prolonged by repairs effected under the warranty. This also applies to replaced and repaired components. Any damage and de-fects present at the time of purchase must be reported immediately after unpack-ing. Repairs carried out after expiry of the warranty period shall be subject to a fee.

Scope of the warranty
This appliance has been manufactured in accordance with strict quality guide- lines and inspected meticulously prior to delivery.
The warranty covers material faults or production faults. The warranty does not extend to product parts subject to normal wear and tear or to fragile parts which could be considered as consumable parts such as switches, batteries or parts made of glass.
The warranty does not apply if the product has been damaged, improperly used or improperly maintained. The directions in the operating instructions for the product regarding proper use of the product are to be strictly followed. Uses and actions that are discouraged in the operating instructions or which are warned against must be avoided.
This product is intended solely for private use and not for commercial purposes. The warranty shall be deemed void in cases of misuse or improper handling, use of force and modifications / repairs which have not been carried out by one of our authorized Service centres.

  • Please have the till receipt and the item number (IAN) 383209_2101 available as proof of purchase.
