Thank you for purchasing a quality MORGAN appliance. We trust that you will have a pleasant experience with your new product. To guarantee safety and best efficiency, please read this manual carefully and keep a copy for future reference.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electric appliances, basic safety precautions should always be adhered to, including the following:
- Read all instructions carefully and retain them for future reference.
- Before connecting to the power supply, ensure that the unit is earthed and its voltage corresponds to the voltage indicated on the power supply rating label.
- Do not operate any appliance with a damaged power cord or power plug. If these are damaged, have it replaced by the manufacturer, service agent or a similarly qualified person.
- To protect against fire, electric shock and injury to persons do not immerse power cord or power plug into water or any other liquids.
- Disconnect the power plug from the power supply outlet before cleaning and when not in use. Allow appliance to completely cool down before disassembling or assembling components, or before cleaning.
- The use of accessories not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock and/or other personal injuries.
- The container is designed exclusively for use with this appliance. Do not be use it on a range top.
- Do not clean container with cleansers, steel wool pads, or other abrasive materials.
- Do not allow power cord to hang over the edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
- Do not place the coffee maker on hot surfaces or beside a fire source to prevent damage.
- Always hold the power plug firmly to disconnect power plug from the power supply outlet. Never yank the power cord.
- Do not use appliance for other than intended use and operate it in a dry environment.
- Close supervision is necessary when your appliance is being used near children.
- CAUTION: Be careful of escaping hot steam during operation.
- To disconnect, turn any control to “OFF” and detach power plug from power supply.
- Do not operate the coffee maker without water.
- Never use the appliance if the carafe shows any signs of cracks. Only use the carafe with this appliance. Use carefully as the carafe is very fragile.
- Scalding may occur if the cover is removed during the brewing cycles.
- Do not touch the appliance with hand as some parts of the appliance will be hot during operation. Use handles or knobs only.
- Never leave the carafe empty on the warming plate otherwise the carafe is liable to crack.
- This appliance has been incorporated with a grounded plug. Please ensure the power supply outlet in your house is well-earthed.
- Do not set a hot container on a hot or cold surface.
- The appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance.
- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
- Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
- This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
- staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
- farm houses;
- by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
- bed and breakfast type environments.
- Do not use outdoors.
- Save these instructions.

BEFORE FIRST USE
- Ensure that all accessories are complete and the unit is not damaged.
- Add clean water up to maximum level to brew several times without coffee powder according to the steps below, and then discard the water.
- Wash the detachable parts thoroughly with warm water.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
- Open the water tank lid and fill with cold drinking water. Ensure water level does not exceed the MAX level as indicated on the water gauge.
- Swing the funnel holder out, place the funnel into funnel holder and insert filter into the funnel. Ensure it is assembled correctly.
- Add coffee powder into filter. Usually, a cup of coffee needs a level spoon of coffee powder, but you may adjust according to personal taste.
- Close the top cover, a click sound will be heard when the top cover is closed completely.
- Insert the carafe on the warming plate horizontally.
- Connect the power plug into the power supply outlet.
- Press the power ON/OFF switch down. The indicator will illuminate and the appliance will begin operation.
- Keep power ON/OFF switch on after brewing to keep coffee warm on the warming plate.
- For best results, serve coffee immediately after brewing.
- Always turn the Power ON/OFF switch off and disconnect the power plug from the power supply after every use.
NOTES:
- The carafe may be removed for serving during the brewing process for a duration not exceeding 30 seconds. The appliance will stop dripping automatically. If the serving time exceeds 30 seconds the coffee will overflow into the funnel.
- Once brewing completes, that is one minute later after the coffee stops dripping, you can remove the carafe, pour and serve.
- Brewed coffee will be slightly less than the water added as it is absorbed by the coffee powder.
- CAUTION: DO NOT touch cover, warming plate and other accessible parts during operation as they are very hot.
CARE & CLEANING
CAUTION: Always disconnect appliance from the power supply and allow the warming plate to cool completely before cleaning it. Never immerse the unit or power cord into water or any other liquids for cleaning.
- Clean all detachable parts after each use in hot, sudsy water.
- Wipe the product’s exterior surface with a soft, damp cloth to remove stains.
- Water droplets may build up in the area above the funnel and drip onto the base during brewing. To avoid this, wipe off the area with a clean, dry cloth after every use.
- Use a damp cloth to gently wipe the warming plate. Never use abrasive cleansers to clean.
- Reassemble all parts and keep for next use.
DESCALING
- Periodic cleaning of mineral deposits will help keep your appliance operating efficiently. It is recommended to decalcify using a solution of two tablespoons (30ml) of white vinegar in one carafe of cold water.
- Fill the tank with the vinegar solution to the maximum level as indicated on the water gauge.
- Insert glass carafe onto the warming plate.
- Ensure paper filter (without coffee powder) and funnel are assembled in place.
- Switch on the appliance and allow it to “brew” the descaling solution.
- Switch off the appliance and allow the solution to sit for 15 minutes.
- Repeat steps 2-5.
- Switch on the appliance and run off the solution until the water tank is completely empty.
- Rinse by operating the appliance with water at least 3 times.
GREAT-TASTING COFFEE TIPS
- A clean coffee maker is essential for making great-tasting coffee. Regularly clean the coffee maker as specified in the “CARE AND CLEANING” section.
- Always use fresh, cold water in the coffee maker.
- Store coffee powder in a cool, dry place.
- After opening a package of coffee powder, reseal it tightly and store it in a refrigerator to maintain its freshness.
- For best results, buy whole coffee beans and finely grind them just before brewing.
- Do not reuse coffee powder since this will greatly reduce its flavour.
- Reheating coffee is not recommended it is at its peak flavour immediately after brewing.
- Clean the coffee maker as over-extraction of coffee powder causes oiliness.
- Oiliness may occur more frequently if heavily roasted coffees are used.
