COOL-AIR FUNCTION FAN NOISE
The curler produces a fan noise when the cool-air function is turned on – this is completely normal.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Wash, condition & dry your hair as normal.
Ensure your hair is combed through & tangle-free.

  1. Plug your curler into a 230-240V~ suitable power outlet & place on a heat protective, flat level surface. The red temperature setting & green fan LED light up immediately. The lights blink & cycle through 3 times & then turn off.

  2. Press & hold the button marked ‘ ’ for 1-2 seconds to turn the curler on. At this time:
    • The curler will automatically default to the medium heat setting (II = 180°C)
    • The lowest heat LED indicator light will remain red & solid, whilst the medium heat LED indicator light will flash red, indicating the curler is heating up
    • The cool-air function LED indicator light will flash green. Once the selected temperature setting has been reached, both the red heat setting LED indicator light & green cool-air function LED indicator light will remain solid.

  3. To select a heat setting suitable for your hair type, press the ‘ ’ button until the desired heat setting is selected. The indicator light will flash until the selected temperature has been reached.
Temperature setting is set to low heat setting (I = 160°C). The 1st red LED flashes, then turns solid when the temperature has been reached.
Temperature setting is set to medium heat setting (II = 180°C). The 1st red LED remains solid, while the 2nd red LED flashes, then turns solid when the temperature has been reached.
Temperature setting is set to high heat setting (III = 200°C). The 1st + 2nd red LED remains solid, while the 3rd red LED flashes, then turns solid when the temperature has been reached.
NB – the outer barrel will keep warm with the cool-air function switched on. The outer barrel won’t reach the same temperature as the low/medium/high heat settings, but it will remain warm, so always take extra care when styling.
    COOL-AIR FUNCTION
Once the selected temperature has been reached the cool-air function will turn on automatically. To turn the cool-air function off, simply press the ‘ ’ button twice in short succession. The green indicator light will continue to flash whilst the cool-air function is switched off. To turn the cool-air function back on again, simply press the ‘ ’ button twice in short succession.

  4. Divide your hair into equal sections & comb section once more before curling. NB – The curl result will depend on the size of the hair section. Smaller sections will give a tighter curl effect, whilst larger sections will create a looser curl/waves effect.

  5. Press & hold the barrel release button (button nearest to the barrel) to open the plates. Take your desired section of hair & place between the plates, roughly half a cm from the roots. (See Fig. 1). Release the plates by letting go of the button so that the hair is held securely between the inner plates.

  6. Holding the curler handle in one hand & the cool tips in the other, turn the curler 180° back on itself so that the hair is wrapped once around the outside of the appliance. (See Fig. 2).

  7. Slowly glide the curler along the length of the hair from root to tip in a downward motion. (See Fig. 3), while the cool-air is channeled along the barrel to instantly set the curl or wave after it is formed.

  8. Release the curler from the hair section.

  9. Repeat this through all sections.

  10. After use, turn your curler off by pressing & holding the ‘ ’ button for 1-2 seconds.
Please note: The cool-air function will keep running for a few moments after switching the curler off. Allow curler to cool before storing.

VARIABLE HEAT SETTINGS
Please ensure you choose the required temperature setting according to your particular need & hair type. If you have delicate, fine, bleached or coloured hair, use the lower heat settings. For thicker hair, use the higher heat settings.
It is suggested to always complete a test on initial use to ensure the correct temperature is used on the hair type. Start on the lowest setting & increase the temperature until desired result is achieved.

SETTINGS/ TEMPERATURE HAIR TYPE
I – 160°C Delicate, fine, bleached, coloured hair
II – 180°C Average to thick or treated hair
III – 200°C Thick or wavy hair

AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF
This curler has an automatic shut-off feature for added safety. If the curler is switched on for more than 60 minutes continuously, it will automatically switch off. If you wish to continue using the curler after this time, simply press and hold the ‘ ’ button for 1-2 seconds to turn the power on again.
HEAT PROTECTION GLOVE
A universal heat protective glove has been supplied to help protect your hand from temporary contact with the barrel when wrapping your hair around the curler. Please note that the heat protective glove is only designed to give initial contact protection. Discomfort will be caused by prolonged contact with the hot surface.
HOW TO STYLE WITH THE COOL CURL BRILLIANCE TIGHT BOUNCY CURLS
For a sleek, glamorous look; Roll less hair in sections, in the same direction.
FREE-FLOWING CURLS
