CONDITIONING STEAM MIST
The Vapor Infusion Technology transforms even the hardestto-style hair, particularly thick, coarse, afro-textured, naturally kinky hair types, whilst also being perfect for fine, damaged & colour-treated hair. You can choose to style with the steam function switched on or off, and you can also choose to refill thestraightener reservoir directly using the pipette or use with the base station for effortless gravity refill.
NB – When you first turn the straightener on, the steam function will default off.

To use the straightener without steam:
Simply just press the On/Off ( ) button to turn your straightener on.

To use the straightener with steam & the base station gravity **refill:**

  1. Before filling with water, ensure the black rubber plug on the bottom of the base station is secured tightly closed.
  2. Lift the black rubber plug on the top of the base station water reservoir & fill with distilled water (We recommend using distilled water as this will help protect the appliance best & lessen the chance of clogging the inside mechanism that allows the steam to flow through). The base station water reservoir holds 100ml of water & will provide around 60 minutes of steam usage time from a full tank.

Replace the black rubber plug & ensure it’s secured tightly closed.

  1. Place the base station onto a heat-protective, flat-level surface & push down to secure the suction feet onto the surface. This will prevent the base station from moving around.
  2. Ensure that the water reservoir on the bottom of the straightener is empty of water & secured in place, then place the straightener onto the base station by aligning the 2 pins & pushing down until the straightener slots into place.

NB – there’s no need to close or lock the plates – you can place the straightener onto the base station with the plates in the open position. However, if the straightener is switched on, we recommend locking the plates before placing the straightener onto the base station & always wearing the heat protection glove to avoid the hot surfaces of the straightener coming into contact with the skin.
TIP – To avoid the straightener from overfilling, always ensure that the straightener water reservoir is nearly or completely empty of water before placing onto the base station for refilling.

  1. As soon as the straightener is correctly in place, the water will automatically refill within 10-15 seconds & the straightener is then ready to use. NB – the straightener doesn’t need to be switched on to refill with water, BUT if the straightener is switched on, we recommend locking the plates before placing the straightener onto the base station & always wearing the heat protection glove to avoid the hot surfaces of the straightener coming into contact with the skin.

  2. Remove the straightener from the base station & press the On/Off ( ) button to turn your straightener on. The default 140°C LED indicator will illuminate & start to flash. At this point the straightener will start heating up.

  3. Press the steam ( ) button once to switch on the steam function. The steam LED indicator will illuminate.

  4. When using the steam function & the plates are closed, the straightener will make a clicking sound. This is completely normal & part of standard operation as the pump is pushing the water through the inside mechanism.

  5. To refill the straightener water reservoir, you can simply click the straightener onto the base station in between brushing & sectioning your hair, being careful not to touch the hot surfaces of the straightener. No fussing or fiddling required!
TIP – To avoid the straightener from overfilling, always ensure that the straightener water reservoir is nearly or completely empty of water before placing onto the base station for refilling.
IMPORTANT – The base station should only be used for refilling the straightener water reservoir. Please do not rest the straightener on the base station when not in use.

  6. Once you’ve finished styling your hair, ensure you empty all the water reservoirs:
    a) Base station water reservoir – empty water from the top section of the base station by lifting the black rubber plug on the top & pour remaining water into a sink.
    b) Base station bottom tank – empty water from the bottom section of the base station by lifting the black rubber plug on the bottom & pour remaining water into a sink.
    c) Straightener water reservoir – remove the water reservoir from the bottom of the straightener, lift the black rubber plug & pour remaining water into a sink.

ALWAYS remove excess water from the base station water reservoir + the base station bottom tank + the straightener water reservoir after use, since leaving unused water in the reservoirs can cause clogging over time.
NB – NEVER add any other liquid aside from distilled water to the water reservoirs.

To use the straightener with steam, without the base station:

  1. Remove the water reservoir located at the bottom of the straightener by pulling the release switch down with one hand & removing the water reservoir with the other hand.

  2. Lift the black rubber plug & using the pipette, fill with distilled water (We recommend using distilled water as this will help protect the appliance best & lessen the chance of clogging the inside mechanism that allows the steam to flow through). The straightener water reservoir holds 10ml of water & will provide around 6 minutes of steam usage time from a full tank. Replace the black rubber plug & put the reservoir back on the straightener until it clicks into place. Check that the reservoir is properly positioned & secured in place.

  3. Press the On/Off ( ) button to turn your straightener on. The default 140°C LED indicator will illuminate & start to flash. At this point the straightener will start heating up.

  4. Press the steam ( ) button once to switch on the steam function. The steam LED indicator will illuminate.

  5. When using the steam function & the plates are closed, the straightener will make a clicking sound. This is completely normal & part of standard operation as the pump is pushing the water through the inside mechanism.

ALWAYS remove excess water from the base station water reservoir + the base station bottom tank + the straightener water reservoir after use, since leaving unused water in the reservoirs can cause clogging over time.
NB – NEVER add any other liquid aside from distilled water to the water reservoirs.

VARIABLE HEAT SETTINGS

Please ensure you choose the required temperature setting according to your particular need & hair type. If using the steam function & depending on the texture & condition of your hair, you may not need to select a high- temperature setting. You might also decide to use a combination of steam & high heat, steam & low heat, or no steam, but we always suggest starting with the lowest temperature setting when using for the first time, until you get used to using the Steam Straight Brilliance.

NB: The heat-up time will vary depending on which temperature setting you select.

REMOVABLE DETANGLING COMB
The Steam Straight Brilliance includes a detangling comb that helps to provide more uniform results & complete 3D straightening, as it helps to sections & detangles as you style. The comb is useful for helping to straighten hard-to- style, coarse & afro-textured hair types as it helps to create more tension as you straighten. The comb is easily removable – simply slide it along the plate to the left to fully remove it.

HEAT PROTECTION GLOVE
A universal heat protective glove has been supplied to help protect your hand from temporary heat contact. Please note that the heat protective glove is only designed to give initial contact protection. Discomfort will be caused by prolonged contact with the hot surface.

AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF
This straightener has an automatic shut-off feature for added safety. If the straightener is switched on for more than 30 minutes continuously, it will automatically switch off. If you wish to continue using the straightener after this time, simply press the ( ) button again to turn the power on.

HOW TO STYLE WITH THE STEAM STRAIGHT BRILLIANCE

STRAIGHT
Start with clean & dry, thoroughly combed through hair. Apply a heat spray for extra protection & longer lasting results. Straighten your hair in sections ensuring you go over each section once to get that gorgeous, silky finish. If you are needing to go over the section more than once, creating thinner sections will help create straight hair in the first glide.

VOLUME
Create volume by making a curved movement with your wrist as you glide the straightener down the hair section.
EXPERT TIP
Set your style with a spritz of light hold hair spray, for extra hold if needed.
