Microclimate temperature setting
The thermostat turns off the compressor if the temperature of the air returning to the air conditioner is below the set temperature. Press ▲ to increase or ▼ to reduce the set temperature. If the room temperature is lower than the set temperature, the compressor will stop. The temperature of the cool air is dependent on the environment temperature and humidity, usually 8 to 14 degrees less than the ambient temperature.
Sleep key
When this key is pressed, the air flow of the unit changes into sleep mode (low speed).
- Press “SLEEP” to set sleep function. Press again to cancel sleep function.
- The temperature will increase by 0.5 °C after half an hour and 2 °C after 2 hours.
- When you turn off the unit, the sleep function will be cancelled automatically.
Timer key
TIMER OFF: The timer is used to turn off the unit automatically after the setting time is over.
- Press the “TIMER” key to set the number of hours of desired operating time.
- Once the set time has come to an end, the unit will turn off automatically.
- Press the “POWER” key before the time out, the setting time will be cancelled and the unit will turn off.
Auto key
Automatic fan speed. When the ambient temperature is 2 or more degrees higher than the set room temperature, the unit will run at high fan speed. It will automatically switch to medium and low when the ambient temperature gets closer to the set temperature.
SETUP
IMPORTANT
Always keep Coolzy upright. It may have been stored or transported on it’s
side or laid flat by mistake, so please stand it upright for at least 12 hours
before plugging it into power and turning it on. Failing to do so may damage
the unit.
-
After removing Coolzy from the box, place it in an upright position.
-
Remove the cable from the drawer at the back of the unit and insert the plug into a wall outlet. Make sure you push the drawer fully back in so it is flush with the back panel. Coolzy will make a “beep” noise when plugged into power.
-
Open the warm air deflector fully. This will turn on the unit and the compressor will start.
• Drape a curtain as shown to exclude light when sleeping.
-
Open the cold air deflector and allow 2 minutes for the air coming out to feel cold. Use the remote control to adjust fan speed. Keep the temperature setting at 17 °C unless the air flow feels too cold.
-
Keep a door or window open so fresh air circulates unless it is extremely hot or windy outside.
-
Avoid using a fan nearby as it can disrupt Coolzy’s gentle air flow.
-
The focus enhancer extends the range of cooling and, after fitting the separate transparent deflector flap, enables a higher angle of air flow.
• For a small room, place the unit near an open window or doorway.
Position Coolzy close enough for comfort. The ideal range of distance is 1.5 – 3 metres. Arrange the angle of the cold air deflector so cool air flows around face and shoulders. Use the optional Igloo tent for a more intense cooling effect and insect protection. We recommend using the Igloo tent for sleeping if indoor temperature is consistently over 27-29 °C.
For sleeping, arrange your unit about 15cm from the end of the bed. Adjust the cold air deflector and focus enhancer to the desired angle so the cool air flows over your face and upper body. It also works with larger beds for two people.
DEHUMIDIFICATION
Coolzy will condense water from the room air in humid weather conditions. Normally this water evaporates into the air emerging from the warm air outlet, improving the cooling power.
To collect the condensed water instead, open the cable drawer and remove the rubber bung just above it. This will allow some of the condensated water to collect in the drawer. When the cable drawer is full, the white water drop indicator comes on and Coolzy will pause. Carefully remove the cable drawer and empty the water. The cable drawer can store about two litres of condensed water.
Remember to replace the rubber bung for normal, high efficiency cooling.
FOCUS ENHANCER
Coolzy has a focus enhancer nozzle that adjusts the cool air throw.
Push the blue nozzle down for a more focused air flow that cools at a greater distance. Lift the nozzle for a gentler flow.
Make sure the nozzle is pushed down before closing the cool air deflector.
For a higher angle of air flow, attach the transparent flap to the end of the cool air deflector. Make sure the straight edge is facing you and the two notches slide under the cool air deflector.
To remove, simply pull the flap off.
Tips
- Adjust the angle of the cool air deflector to ensure that cool air flows past face and neck
- Turn off fans when using Coolzy. Drafts from nearby windows and fans may disrupt the focus enhancer air jet.
- Pull the focus enhancer nozzle upright for use with the bed tent. If the focus enhancer nozzle is in the down position, the cool air at the bottom of the tent will mix with the warm air at the top.
- In humid weather, it is normal for moisture to condense on parts of the focus enhancer.
CHECKING AND CLEANING AIR FILTERS
We recommend inspecting at least the return air inlet filter once every two
weeks. Once there is a noticeable amount of dust, clean all three filters by
rinsing them under running water.
Remove the focus enhancer to access the foam filter beneath it. Replace the
focus enhancer after cleaning the foam filter.

In dusty locations, consider arranging for an air conditioning technician to clean the inside before the summer season.
INDICATOR LIGHTS
Power (green light)
This shows that the electrical power is on. When the green light flashes, Coolzy is waiting 1 – 2 minutes for the compressor to start cooling.
Water drop (white light)
In normal conditions, all the water condensed inside the cooler will evaporate into the air emerging from the warm air outlet. This evaporation increases the cooling performance in humid conditions.
If you remove the rubber bung, following the dehumidification instructions below, condensed water flows into the cable drawer instead. The water drop light comes on when the cable drawer is full of water.
The water drop light also comes on if the cable drawer is not fully inserted and flush with the back panel.
When it is extremely humid, greater than 95% lasting for several hours, water can overflow from the cooler into the cable drawer.
If the water drop light is on, carefully remove the cable drawer and empty any water. If there is no water, then carefully push the drawer into Coolzy until it is flush with the back panel.
Snowflake (blue light)
The cooler temperature so low that there is a risk that ice may form, damaging the tubes in Coolzy. Some combinations of low temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure can lead to frosting. Allow the fan to operate for a few minutes to warm up Coolzy.
Also, check the air inlet filters for excessive dust build-up. Ensure that there is nothing blocking the either of the air inlets such as a curtain, cushion or bedding.
Thermometer (red light)
The compressor has overheated. Coolzy can be used in ambient temperatures up
to 40 °C. Above that temperature, the compressor may overheat. Wait for 10 –
20 minutes and try again. Avoid using Coolzy in direct sunlight.
Check the air inlet filters for excessive dust build-up. Ensure that there is
nothing blocking the either of the air inlets such as a curtain, cushion or
bedding.
TOUBLESHOOTING
Symptom 1 – Green light is not on when trying to turn on Coolzy
Make sure the warm air deflector is fully open. Check to see if the power supply is properly connected and on. The unit will make a “beep” sound when plugged in to power. If the power cord seems properly connected, try a different power supply. Check that the cable drawer is fully inserted and flush with the back of Coolzy.
Symptom 2 – Green light is on with no cooling
The green light flashes, the fan runs and the compressor waits to start
cooling for about 90 seconds. This delay protects the compressor from damage.
If the green light is on and the fan is running, and there is no apparent
cooling after 2 minutes, check that Coolzy is in cooling mode. Press the
‘FUNC’ button on the remote until the snowflake icon appears to activate
cooling mode. Reduce the temperature setting because the thermostat may be
preventing the compressor from starting.
Symptom 3 – Green light is flashing continuously
If the green light flashes repeatedly but the fan is not running, this may be due to surge protection mode or an unstable power supply. Turn off the unit using the remote and close the rear flap. Unplug the unit and wait for 5 minutes. When reconnecting to the power supply, a “beep” sound should be heard.
Symptom 4 – Room seems to warm up
As you become accustomed to the cool microclimate that Coolzy provides for you, the other parts of the room may seem to be warmer. There may be a slight increase in air temperature in the space above the warm air deflector, but this is normally not enough to heat up the lower part of the room.
Keep a door or window open. This is a healthy option. Position Coolzy’s warm air outlet to face the open window or door so warm air can flow out more easily. Unlike normal room air conditioners, Coolzy works just best with open doors or windows and fresh air circulating.
A slight temperature increase can occur in a small room, especially if the windows are closed. The setup instructions show how to minimize this effect.
Symptom 5 – Gradual loss of cooling
Dust accumulating on the air filters will reduce the cooling. Clean all three air filters following the instructions in this guide.
