Thank you for purchasing an Air Sniper BACnet Induct 300W. This manual
provides step-by-step instructions on how to set up and take care of your new
unit.
Please contact Air Sniper or your local distributor if/when a unit needs to be
replaced.
Warnings
Do not attempt to operate the UV-C lamps outside the unit. UV-C radiation
is extremely harmful to unprotected (uncovered) eyes and skin *Disconnect
unit from power source before conducting Maintenance***
Bulb contains small amounts of Mercury. Please dispose of responsibly
according to your local regulations.***
Bulb may also be returned to AIR SNIPER head office.
System Overview Features
Indicator lights
- The Power ON light will be lit green when power is switched to on
- The Lamp Operating light on the unit shows light status of green, yellow or red. Green indicates bulb is good, Yellow, bulb life is coming to an end, Red, the bulb is at the end of its life cycle and the bulb/unit needs to be changed out
- I/O (Input/Output) to connect multiple units
- Reset Button – The Air Sniper 300-Watt has a reset button that allows you to turn off an audible alert which indicates end of lamp life
- Recommended to check-bulb status indicator light every month
How to tell if the lamp is on and working/UV lamp check procedure

- Make sure unit is plugged in to supplied power source
- Once airflow is established, Lamp Operating indicator light will be lit
Performance
- The Air Sniper 300-Watt unit is intended to last 5 years based on 24/7 run time (43,800 hrs)
- The Air Sniper 300-Watt contains a pressure differential switch (air sensor). When airflow is detected, the unit is active. The Lamp Operating light is lit green when it detects airflow and not lit when it does not
Replacement
- Air Sniper provides a “Hot Swap” replacement program. When replacing your old unit, Air Sniper will offer a credit towards a new unit

Warranty
We take pride in the quality of our products. In the case of a defective piece of equipment, AIR Alpine Innovate Research Inc. offers a limited three-year warranty on all our products (excluding bulbs). In the case of a discovered defect, we will replace or repair the unit.
Extended warranty available
Limited Warranty Three Year Warranty AIR Alpine Innovative Research Inc.
warrants the Air Sniper™ to be free from defects in the workmanship or
materials under normal use and service (the “Warranty”) for a period of three
(3) years (the “Warranty Period”) from the date of purchase through an AIR-
authorized dealer/distributor. During the Warranty Period, should an Air
Sniper™ be determined to be defective, AIR shall repair or replace the
defective Air Sniper™ unit(s) (at AIR or dealer’s option) within a reasonable
period. Remedy Procedures If the Air Sniper™ proves defective within the
Warranty Period, the purchaser may choose one of the following remedies, after
contacting AIR for a Return Authorization Number: 1. Return the defective Air
Sniper™ unit to the dealer/distributor from whom it was purchased together
with a copy of the bill of sale, or dated proof of purchase thereof and the
Return Authorization Number; or 2. Ship the defective Air Sniper™ unit
directly to Air Alpine Innovative Research Customer Warranty Department along
with the Return Authorization Number.
Limitations This Warranty is the only representation regarding the Air
Sniper™, by Alpine Innovative Research Inc. of merchantability and fitness for
use and shall extend to three (3) years from the date of purchase. The
warranty excludes replaceable UVC bulbs. If it is determined by either Alpine
Innovative Research Inc or an authorized dealer/distributor that the defect is
the result of damage caused by the purchaser, the Warranty is null and void.

Items included with this system
- The Operation/Installation Manual is uploaded when scanning the supplied QR CODE

- 8’ power extender cord (plugs into unit coming from power source 208V)
- Reflective panels x 4 (22 ¾” x 8” )
- Supplied magnetic strips to be installed on the back of reflective panels
Tools required
- Drill for Tek screws
- Drill bit to initiate cut-out puncture
- Sheet metal tin snips or appropriate cutting equipment
- 12 #8 Tek screws
How to set up your Unit (Installation)
- Remove from box
- a. Carefully remove your Air Sniper Standard Induct 300W unit from the shipping carton and remove all exterior packaging
- b. Look for damage
- c. Report any damage
- d. Register your unit
- Prepare location for installation
- a. Decide on the best location for installation. You can refer to the 4 diagrams of the different configurations
- b. Both supply and return ducting locations acceptable for installation
- c. Return air installation can assist with coil cleaning
- d. Position unit so airflow is parallel to longest side (Bottom right of unit shows airflow direction)
- e. All exterior insulation of the HVAC duct must be cut 2” back from the point of installation
- f. Using one of the reflective panels as a template, identify cut-out location for mounting the Air Sniper 300W and trace the panel of where the unit will be installed. (ref. to figure 2f)
- Cutting into duct
- a. Drill a hole large enough on one of the corners of the outline, staying within the trace line as a starting point to cut out of your duct
- b. Use the sheet metal snips or cutting device to carefully follow the trace, slowly cutting out where the unit will be installed (ref. to figure 3b) Please note once the cut-out is complete, interior insulation of the HVAC duct must be cut back 24” from the unit.
- Placing the reflective panels
- a. Place magnetic stripping on back outer edge of the 4 reflective panels
- b. Remove blue protective plastic on the provided magnetic reflective panels (ref. to figure 4b)
- c. Carefully place each panel in the duct where they will be opposing and adjacent to the bulb for best reflective opportunities. Once installed, assure the magnetic grip is secure and will not be compromised by the air flow (ref. to figure 4c and 4c)
- Mounting the Air Sniper 300-Watt Induct Unit
- a. Carefully place the unit through the cut-out of the duct work
- b. Using your drill and the 12 #8 Tek screws and the pre-drilled mounting holes around the unit, secure the unit into the duct work where you cut into (ref. to figure 5a)
- Operating/Connecting Instructions
- a. Turn off supplied power and wire the 8’ power extender cord to the selected power source (208V/60Hz)
- b. Connect the 8’ power extender cord (clips) to the Induct 300W BACnet unit, then turn power back on (refer to figure 6b)
- c. Power On light will be lit green when unit is powered from the selected power source
- d. Once the air handler is providing airflow (heating, air conditioning, or air handler fan) the unit will sense air pressure and turn on the UVC lamp. When the UVC lamp is engaged the Lamp Operating light (green) will be lit (figure 6d)
- e. If there are multiple units to connect to the BACnet system, use the I/O (Input/Output) connections located on right side of the unit
- f. If there are any abnormal sounds, please turn the unit off immediately and contact the dealer or AIR, Alpine Innovative Research as damages may have occurred during transport
Suggested mounting parameters
- Easy access for maintenance and unit replacement is considered
- Depending on access to the duct work, the unit can be installed in several configurations (ref. to configuration diagrams)
Unit replacement
- The bulb in your Air Sniper BACnet 300W Induct is part of a complete unit that will need to be changed every 5 years (based on 24/7 operation (43,800 hrs)
- The bulb life status of the unit can be monitored on the Lamp Operating light on the face of the system, green, yellow or red. Green indicates bulb is good, Yellow, bulb life nearing the end, Red, bulb is at the end of its life cycle and bulb/unit needs to be changed out
- To order replacement units, please contact your local distributor or Air Sniper.
The bulb itself contains small amounts of Amalgum, (mercury alloy). If unit is disposed of, dispose of responsibly according to your local regulations. Unit may also be returned to AIR head office for proper disposal.
Tools needed
- New Air Sniper 300 watt BacNet unit
- Flat head screwdriver or drill
Unit Replacement
- a. Disconnect power source. The 8’ power extender cord can be disconnected from the clip supporting the power. The Power On light will not be lit when the unit is off (ref to figure 1a). (Allow 20-30 minutes for the unit to cool off before touching the bulb)
- b. Locate and remove the 12 #8 Tek screws (located around the mounted unit) and carefully remove the unit from the duct
- c. Insert the new bulb assembly into the duct
- d. Place and tighten the 12 #8 Tek screws back in place
- e. Plug unit back into power source and turn power back on. Power On indicator light will turn green (ref. to fig 1e)
- f. Make sure airflow is provided to activate the unit, Lamp Operating light will also be lit green (refer to figure 1f)
- g. Once installed, package and ship the used equipment to a local Air Sniper dealer or direct to Air Sniper for core credit
