The American Security vault door is the perfect solution to secure any walk-in space that you want to use as a vault, gun room, safe room, or storm shelter. The door is available in Granite Black and Sandstone colors. The newest feature of the vault door is the Panic Room Lockout, which allows the user to safely lock themselves inside, even if the lock combination is entered from the outside.

Panic Room Lockout.
Our all-new panic room lockout allows the user to safely lock themselves inside, despite the lock combination being entered from the outside.

  • The panic room lockout feature comes standard with all VD models
  • New vault door size to fit a 79.5” x 41.5” wall opening (VD8042)
  • 2” thick door offers a defense barrier constructed of a 1/2” steel plate for BF models and a 1/4” steel plate for BFQ models filled with DryLight® insulation material that provides a barrier against extreme heat.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Determine the location and size of the walk-in space where you want to install the vault door.
  2. Measure the dimensions of the space to ensure that the vault door will fit properly.
  3. Order the American Security vault door in the desired color and size.
  4. Prepare the opening by framing it with wood or steel studs to match the thickness of the vault door.
  5. Install the vault door using the provided installation instructions.
  6. To use the Panic Room Lockout, enter the lock combination from the outside as usual. When inside, turn the Panic Room Lockout knob to engage the lock and prevent anyone from entering from the outside.
  7. To exit, turn the Panic Room Lockout knob again to disengage the lock and enter the lock combination, as usual, to open the door from the inside.

With these instructions, you can install and use the American Security vault door with confidence, knowing that your walk-in space is secure and easily accessible in case of an emergency.
