Electrical Safety
-
The product is built according to protection class I. It must be powered by a stand-ard earthed mains socket.
-
The mains socket that you use to connect the power cable must be easily accessible.
-
Before connecting the product, make sure that the mains voltage in your region meets the specifications on the name plate. Only connect the product to the mains socket when it is switched off.
-
Do not pull the mains plug from the mains socket by pulling on the cable.
-
Do not touch the mains cable or the workstation if there are any signs of damage, as this may cause a fatal electric shock!
-
If the mains cable is damaged, it must be replaced by a new mains cable with the same specifications. Stop using the damaged mains cable and dispose of it in an
-
environmentally friendly manner. Do not attempt to repair the damaged mains cable.
-
Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold room into a warm one. This may generate condensation, which can cause the product to malfunction or damage the interior components. Moisture on the workstation, mains cable or power adapter may also cause a fatal electric shock!
-
Never work on or solder live electrical components or parts. Always disconnect these components from the power supply beforehand.
Caution! -
If liquid does enter the workstation, switch off the mains voltage to the socket containing the mains plug (switch off at the corresponding circuit breaker or remove the safety fuse and then switch off at the corresponding RCD protective switch). You can then unplug the power adapter from the mains socket.
-
Discontinue use immediately and take the product to a specialist repair shop or dispose of it in an environmentally friendly manner.
Operation
- Never touch the element or tip of the soldering iron. Risk of burns!
- Hold wires to be heated with tweezers or clamps.
- Never use the soldering iron to heat up liquids.
- Never solder live electrical components or parts. Always switch off the power before-hand.
- Do not cover or fasten any items to the soldering iron. Otherwise there is a risk of fire.
- Touching or soldering capacitors (or similar components) or leads/cables that are connected to capacitors may cause a fatal electric shock! Capacitors may stay charged for several hours after you switch off the power supply!
- Always solder on non-flammable surfaces. Protect other materials nearby from damage through heat.
- During breaks, set it down on an even and heat/fire resistant surface to cool down; make sure that it cannot roll or fall.
- Risk of fire or explosion! Do not use around or near explosive or flammable ma-terials.
- Turn off the power while taking breaks or finishing using.
Work safety
- Ensure that there is sufficient lighting.
- Ensure proper ventilation during soldering. Solder and flux vapours can be harmful to your health.
- Wash your hands thoroughly after working with solder. This is particularly impor-tant when using lead-based solder.
- Do not put soldering alloys into your mouth. Do not eat or drink during soldering.
- Wear suitable protective clothing and safety goggles when soldering. Liquid/splashing solder may cause serious burns or eye damage.

-
Turn the power ON: Flip the power switch (8) to the [ I ] position.
The LCD display (4) shows the preset target temperature for a few seconds, followed by the actual working temperature of the soldering tip (12). -
Select the required working temperature by:
- Pressing one of the preset buttons (1), (2), or (3).
- Pressing the temperature increase [+] (9) or decrease button [-] (10).
The temperature can be adjusted in 10 °C increments. The working temperature range is 200 to 450 °C.
-
Turn the power OFF: Flip the power switch to the [O] position.
-
Disconnect the power plug (11) from the mains power outlet, and allow the soldering iron to completely cool down before storing away.
Troubleshooting
Maintenance and care
- Never clean the tip with coarse, abrasive materials like files.
- If oxide forms on the tip, lightly rub with abrasive paper, wipe clean, then immediately reheat and re-tin the tip to prevent oxidation of the wettable surface.
- Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions as they can cause damage to the housing and malfunctioning.
