Kings Reels Electric Wiring
Revision: -Effective Date: 11/24/2021
Purpose
This work instruction details the method for wiring power to a Kings electric reel.

Connection information
3.1 Required components
a.) Select a proper location for mounting the battery (if the vehicle battery
is not used), and bolt or strap it down to prevent movement.
b.) The cables are to be AWG #6 for approximately 10 ft and shorter cables,
and AWG #4 for longer cables. Terminal lugs should be used on the ends.
c.) A 40 amp fuse or circuit breaker should be installed in the positive wire
leading to the reel.
3.2 Attachment to the Reel
Attach the positive (+) cable to the front lug on the solenoid as shown, and
attach the negative (-) cable to either of:
- a vehicle chassis ground if usign the vehicle battery
- the ground bolt shown below
- Reel frame mounting bolt
o Note that for grounding on the reel, the frame to which the frame is mounted must be eventually connected to the battery ground.
3.3 Wiring diagram
Note fuse placement in the diagram below, and connections as described in the previous section. Note that the motor and push button are pre-wired by the factory.
