Please read this manual carefully before operating this product.

SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS

  • Don’t try to repair the unit by yourself or you invalidate the warranty. Repairs must only be carried out by a qualified technician.
  • Keep the unit dry and do NOT use in rain or snow.
  • Make sure the lid of the feeding hopper is well covered when using the unit. Accidentally burning of Ti powder can only be extinguished with sand. Composite Ti should be kept away from moisture and stored in a dry, sealed environment.
  • Do not mount the product on a flammable surface (linoleum, carpet, wood, paper, carton, plastic, etc.). Keep audience and flammable material at a minimum distance of  3m from SPARKFIREWORKS. Make sure the sparks shoot out by the unit can NOT touch any objects.
  • Clean the unit before and after the show. Make sure that no Composite Ti remains in the pipe and the nozzle. Remove all residues of Composite Ti aggregate, otherwise  it will affect the shooting effect or even damage the unit. Let it cool down for at least 5 minutes after power off.
  • Do not use the unit in a confined space. Always install the product in a location with adequate ventilation, at least 50cm from adjacent surfaces.
  • For better heat dissipation, never block the air intake and air outlet.
  • Do not cover the nozzle of the unit. Do not aim the nozzle at people or objects.
  • After use, remove the gas tank and store it in a cool, ventilated place, away from direct sunlight.

CONNECTORS ON THE REAR PANEL:

Plug in the supplied mains lead into the POWER IN socket of the machine. If you wish to daisychain several machines, plug another power lead into the POWER OUT  socket and the other end into the POWER IN connector of the following machine.
Plug a 3-pin DMX cable into the DMX IN socket and the other end into the DMX OUT connector of your DMX controller. If you want to connect another machine, connect the DMX OUT connector to the DMX IN connector of the following machine.
IMPULSE terminals: When an external 12V control signal is connected to these terminals, the machine will start loading gas and fire automatically once the gas charge has  been completed.
This function is used with firing systems to trigger the shooting without the need of a DMX controller.

INSTALLATION OF THE MACHINE

Install the machine on a solid horizontal ground or truss via four M8 nuts on the base plate.

The angle of the gun tube can be adjusted by the user between 15° and 60° in 5 steps of 15°. Pull up the lock pin and adjust the angle. When the shaft is placed in the desired  position, release the lock pin to lock the shaft into position.
INSTALLATION OF BUTANE GAS
The butane gas used in this machine must be approved quality. The cartridges must have the size of Ø68 x 180mm height with a volume of 220 ±5g.
INSTALLATION OF THE BUTANE GAS CARTRIDGES:
The gas cartridge compartment is located in the right side of the machine. Open the hatch to access to the 2 compartments for the gas cartridges. Each compartment shows  the symbols and . Remove the cap of the cartridge and align the notch on the top with the UNLOCK sign.
Push the cartridge all the way into the compartment and turn it towards the LOCK sign. If the cartridge has been properly installed, it can’t skip back. Proceed the same way  for the second cartridge. Close the compartment.
To remove the cartridge, turn it to the UNLOCK position and take it out of the compartment. Put the cap back on the cartridge to avoid any gas leakage during storage.

FILLING IN THE GRANULATE
Please use our MEDIUM size granulate for spark fountains of 2-3m height (order code: SPARK-POWDER-MEDIUM).

  1. Loose the hopper screw on the nozzle and remove the hopper.
  2. Turn the hopper upside down and unscrew the cap.
  3. Fill in the granulate as shown in the illustration below.
  4. Close the hopper, turn it upside down and place it on the nozzle. Secure the hopper with the screw.

OPERATION

POWER ON
Connect the machine to an appropriate mains outlet and switch the ON/OFF button to ON. The RUN LED lights up in red. If a DMX controller is connected, the DMX  light lights up in red.
DMX CONTROL
Connect a DMX512 controller via a DMX signal cable to the DMX IN connector. Push the pot meter of channel 2 to the maximum. Wait about 7 seconds until the RUN  indicator flashes in green.
Push the potmeter of channel 1 to the max and the machine will shoot sparks.
Lower both potmeters to the miniumum position. If you want to shoot sparks again, push the potmeter of channel 2 to the top and wait until the RUN indicator flashes  quickly in green. Then push channel 1 to the max.
ERROR MESSAGES
Error code E1: Lack of granulate. Please fill granulate into the hopper.
Error code E3: Lack or leakage of gas. Replace the gas cartridges.
POWER OFF AND CLEANING

  1. Turn off the machine.
  2. Disconnect the power and the DMX signal cable.
  3. Remove the gas cartridges and store them in a cool, dark, well ventilated place away from sunlight.
  4. Check if foreign objects have entered the machine and remove them.
