Solving common issues

Water tank leaking or water flow reduced
On the outside bottom of the water tank you will find a small black O-ring that helps seal the water tank when seated on top of the SinuPulse. It is made of material designed to be resistant to the drying effect of hard water mineral deposits and saline. However, occasionally it may lose lubrication and cause difficulty seating the water tank. This can lead to reduced water flow and/or leaking. This is easily corrected with a very small application of Vaseline around the O-ring. Doing this before first use and again every six months will ensure optimum results. Rinse the water tank thoroughly after each use to remove any salt deposits and allow to air dry.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT LEAVE SOLUTION IN TANK WHEN NOT IN USE

Connecting the UK 3-pin plug adapter
The SinuPulse Elite comes with a 2-pin plug built-in, making it convenient for use on 220V shaver sockets (please note – it must not be used with 110V shaver sockets) and for use on mainland Europe. For use in 3-pin UK sockets, a simple adapter is included. Open the adapter, press the two pins into the copper grips as shown left, close the top and tighten the screw. Should you wish to use it in a shaver or European socket later, you can simply reverse this process.

Noise level reduction
The sound level is a result of the robust motor and piston driven pump assembly that delivers the 1200 PPM pulsating cleansing rinse and has been designed to balance the need for both performance and durability.

While the sound is therefore typical for this time of unit, if you need to quieten it then a simple hand towel placed under the unit will reduce the sound level by up to 50%.

Water leaking from handle
This is generally caused by the tip not being fully inserted into the handle. The tip must be fully inserted and seated as the red line on the image to the right shows; this will ensure the O-ring in the handle securely holds the tip in place and avoid leaks. If you are having difficulty getting the tip to connect, then applying a small amount of Vaseline around the base of the tip should make inserting and removing the tip a little easier. If the problem persists, try an alternative tip to see if the problem is isolated to that tip.

Getting started with the SinuPulse Elite

Water pressure and flow velocity are governed by a dial on the front of the unit. For the standard sinus nozzle, adjustment between 4 and 6 is recommended, wetting through the sinus spray nozzle and use with medically recommended additives is preferable with a parameter use between 2 and 4. Important: make sure that the hydraulic pressure before each use is adjusted slightly or when replacing the rinsing nozzles. Hold the flushing nozzle of the appliance above the sink and away from your face, allow time to adjust the water pressure and hydraulic pressure before inserting the nozzle into the nostril.
Press the button until the unit turns on (you must hear a small click). The LED display lights up. Press again until you hear a click to turn off. To temporarily stop the flow of water during use, press the Pause button on the handle.
Keep the flushing nozzle away from your face above the sink. Begin with the lowest setting and then slowly increase the pressure until the water is about 2.5 cm from the standard nozzle before placing the nozzle against your nostril.
Put your tongue on the palate. This facilitates the flow through the nose instead of the mouth.
Carefully insert the nozzle into one nostril and lean over the sink. (See Fig. 1 on page 7 of the complete user manual).
Turn on the power button or release the pause button to begin the flow of water. The solution is now entered through one nostril, rinses the nose and sinuses and will flow through the other nostril. (See Fig. 2 on page 7 of the complete user manual downloaded)
Set the pressure to the desired force.
When using with the irrigation nozzle, contine until the liquid coming out is clear (about 250ml and / or half water tank). When applying with the fogging nozzle for humidification or light cleaning, it is recommended to use less solution (about 30ml), because of the fine drizzle. To rinse and moisten, block your nostril with the mist nozzle and let it flow through the nostrils. Use the mist for humidification until the dry sinuses are wet again.
Turn off the SinuPulse Elite ®.
Remove the nozzle from the first nostril and repeat the process for the second nostril. If necessary, fill the water tank.
Put the nozzle back in the support.
Dry your nose well once you have finished rinsing it. To avoid pressure on your eardrums, do not block your nostrils completely.
Suspend the nasal wash when your sinuses are free or as directed by your doctor
