Introduction

Thank you for choosing the IL-C5FM as your audio input solution. The IL-C5FM is designed to provide the connecting link between your Apple IOS device and the C5 radio. Using the supplied accessories, you will be able to connect, charge and play all Apple IOS devices (Except Nano 7G) through the C5 radio FM band

The IL-C5FM; (unlike wireless FM transmitters) connects directly to the radio antenna socket to provide the high quality sound as you would expect from a commercial FM radio station without having to switch between stations when traveling through different areas. .See the Frequently Asked Questions at the end of this guide for more details.

Frequently asked questions & troubleshooting

  1.   Does the IL-C5FM work in all C5 radios?
YES; works on all Bose and Non-Bose radios. (FM band).

  2.   How to I access music played from my iPhone?
Turn radio to FM band and tune to either 87.9 or 88.3 MHz For easier access we recommend storing the selected frequency to a radio present button.

  3.   Do you offer a music streaming option for C5 without CD changer?
    YES, See our A2D-C5FM

  4. After connecting everything, the playback is noisy/humming. Any ideas?
Ensure audio device volume is set to 90% or more.

  5. What is the difference between this FM modulator and FM transmitter?
FM modulators connect directly to the C5 radio antenna socket (input) to provide high quality FM sound as you would expect from a commercial radio station. FM transmitters send its signal over the airwaves, picked up by the antenna mast prone to interference depending on weather conditions, topology, and landscape.

  6.   How good is the sound quality from this module?
Contrary to what you may have heard, the modulator included in this kit sounds very good and far better than FM transmitters which are subject to noise and interference.

  7. It is possible to install the IL-C5FM at the 10-pin plug in the trunk/hatch?
NO; the IL-C5FM installs at the radio (Radio removal required).

  8.   Can I control smart device from radio buttons?
NO; you must continue to use audio device built-in controls and radio volume control button to set playback level.

  9.   Will radio mute when I receive or make a phone call on my smartphone?
Yes. And music playback resumes after call ends.
