Installation & Programming
Installation Locations
Common installation locations include areas where small leaks are likely to go
undetected.
Such as, behind and under washers, water heaters sinks, refrigerators, etc.
Mounting Sensor
Select a location for the Leak Sensor that will be accessible for future
inspection.
Peel off backing on the included adhesive pad and mount onto the wall. Slide
the sensor onto the mounting plate.
(Optional) For additional holding strength, the included screws and plastic
anchors can be used. Pre-drill using a 7/32” (5.5mm) drill bit.
Sense Cables
Ensure style and quantity of Sense Cables ordered fit installation
requirements.
Plug in the Sense Cable, tone will confirm connection.
For Rope Sense Cable, route and secure the cable. Water will be detected
anywhere along the cable.
For Targeted Sense Cable, secure with contacts touching the floor using provided hardware.
For multi-point detection, connect additional Sense Cables to extend detection area up to 18 feet.
Programming
Programming is the process of associating the sensor’s serial number with its
installed location.
This process is quick and simple using the NextCentury web or mobile app. The
website offers a rapid programming interface which is convenient for pre-
programming devices before installation
(nextcenturymeters.com) Or, your meters can be
programmed incrementally during installation using the mobile app.
Create the Building Layout
Using the web or mobile app, recreate your property’s layout by adding
buildings or floors and unit numbers.
Add Gateway and Repeaters
Add the serial number of the Gateway and Repeaters which have been or will
be installed.
Scan the Sensor’s Barcode
Using an accessory barcode scanner or the mobile app’s built-in barcode
scanner, capture the serial number of the sensor.
Enter any location or description information that will be useful for tracking and maintenance.
Wireless Communication
Open the cover of the sensor and press the red button to initiate a two-way
wireless check-in.
The sensor’s LED indicator will blink green two times verifying its connection
with the Gateway.
If green blinks are not seen, ensure the Gateway is online and any needed
Repeaters are powered on.
Press the red button again to retry – if green blinks are not seen after
retrying, an additional Repeater likely needs to be installed.
