You need to install and setup both the ThermoPro Home APP and Amazon Alexa APP.

Step 1 : Search for “ThermoPro Home“ on the Apple Store for IOS devices or on the Google Play Store for Android devices. Download the App and install it on your smartphone.

Step 2
Open the ThermoPro Home App, and you will be asked to register a ThermoPro account.

Step 3

Once your account is setup, power on the ThermoPro thermometer/hygrometer device and follow the instructions in the APP to add the sensors.

Please note

  1. The device can be added via two pairing modes, EZ mode and AP mode. You should try using EZ mode first to add the device. If you have trouble in adding devices using EZ mode, then switch to using AP mode to add the devices.
  2. Currently, these devices only support 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Do NOT select a 5Ghz Wi-Fi network.

Step 4

You may add as many devices as you wish but ensure you name them different names. For example, you can place one device in the master bedroom and name that device, Master Bedroom. Another device in living room and name that device, Living Room. Step 5: Search the Google Play Store or Apple App Store for an APP called “Amazon Alexa” and install it onto your smartphone. If your smartphone already has Amazon Alexa APP installed, please skip this step.

Step 6
Open the Amazon Alexa APP and search for the Skill called “ThermoPro” and ENABLE this Skill. After you press ENABLE, it will ask you to enter your ThermoPro Home APP account ID and password. If done successfully, “ThermoPro has been successfully linked” should appear. If you couldn’t successfully link the device, please go back to the ThermoPro Skill, press SETTINGS and then press Link Account and enter your ThermoPro Home APP account ID/password. Done! Test with the following command “Alexa, ask ThermoPro, (wait for Alexa’s response) what’s the temperature in the (device’s name)?”

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this utilize the Zigbee or Zwave protocol?

No, I’ve never thought that was conceivable. It will only provide information for Alexa Routines.

How long is the product’s warranty? How long will the fan be on all the time?

If you want to keep the fan running constantly, you should definitely examine the fan to determine if the bearings are permanently lubricated or if they need to be oiled from time to time. In the long term, the bearings will begin to loosen and probably begin to rattle.

Can I use these without Wi-Fi and read it by hand instead?

I agree, but why spend so much money if you’re only going to use it offline? If not using the Wi-Fi feature, I would not advise using this device.

Can a client who lives out of state set this up and check the progress while in his second house if I setup it for him?

Actually, you may share the App with him, but to set it up initially, you must plug it in close to the WiFi you’re connecting to. Once installed, you can move the device to different rooms within that WiFi range and give each area a different name for multiple units. If you have many devices, you can share the app and devices with other people’s phones, however if you erase one from your phone, I don’t believe the others will function either.

Is my location necessary for the app to function? I ask because these cloud services are incredibly unreliable and hackable.

No, it is not necessary. Make sure to select “never” or “only while using app” in your privacy settings.

The USB power cord’s length Can it be pushed back?

It has a maximum extension length of 6′ and may be lengthened with either a standard AC extension chord or a USB MF extension cord (not sure what the length limit is on USB).

Can you install a sensor for the outside?

Since this sensor is categorically INDOOR ONLY, I don’t know if the manufacturer also makes outdoor sensors.

Does it still function on 5G?

It will never. Long range transmissions or signal penetration through barriers like walls are difficult with 5GHz communications. This is why devices like this use 2.4GHz.

Will this function with the “smart living” application?

Since they all appear to have the same interface, it’s possible that it will work with even more. It works with the Tuya Smart app as well, which is how I was able to get mine to function.

Can I use the thermopro wifi thermometer and hygrometer tp90 inside the refrigerator?

I suppose it might, but you’d have to live with a cord sticking out of your fridge since it plugs into the wall.
