GENERAL INFORMATION

This manual has been compiled by Draper Tools and is an integrated part of the product with which it is enclosed and should be kept with it for future references.
This manual describes the purpose for which the product has been designed and contains all the necessary information to ensure its correct and safe use. We recommend that this manual is read before any operation or, before performing any kind of adjustment to the product and prior to any maintenance tasks. By following all the general safety instructions contained in this manual, it will ensure both product and operator safety, together with longer life of the product itself.
All photographs and drawings in this manual are supplied by Draper Tools to help illustrate the operation of the product.

GUARANTEE

Draper Tools have been carefully tested and inspected before shipment and are guaranteed to be free from defective materials and workmanship for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase except where tools are hired out when the guarantee period is ninety days from the date of purchase.
Should the machine develop any fault, please return the complete tool to your nearest authorized warranty repair agent or contact Draper Tools Limited, Chandler’s Ford, Eastleigh, Hampshire, SO53 1YF. England. Telephone: (023)
A proof of purchase must be provided with the tool. 8026 6355.
If upon inspection it is found that the fault occurring is due to defective materials or workmanship, repairs will be carried out free of charge. This guarantee does not apply to normal wear and tear, nor does it cover any damage caused by misuse, careless or unsafe handling, alterations, accident, or repairs attempted or made by any personnel other than the authorised Draper warranty repair agent.
Note: If the tool is found not to be within the terms of warranty, repairs and carriage charges will be quoted and made accordingly.
This guarantee applies in lieu of any other guarantee expressed or implied and variations of its terms are not authorised.
Your Draper guarantee is not effective unless you can produce upon request a dated receipt or invoice to verify your proof of purchase within the 12 month period.
Please note that this guarantee is an additional benefit and does not affect your statutory rights.

SAFETY WARNING

WARNING: Please read the following instructions carefully failure to do so could lead to serious personal injury.
IMPORTANT: Draper Tools recommends that this compressor should not be modified or used for any application other than that for which it was designed. If you are unsure of it’s relative applications do not hesitate to contact us in writing and we will advise you.

GENERAL SAFETY RULES FOR AIR COMPRESSORS

  1. Know your compressor
    Before operating the compressor, read and fully understand the starting, operating and stopping sections in this manual. Read all labels affixed to the compressor. Learn it’s applications and limitations.

  2. Servicing and maintenance
    Do not service or maintain this compressor until you have read and understood the maintenance section of this manual.

  3. Check damaged parts
    Before further use of this compressor, parts that are damaged should be carefully checked to ensure that it will operate correctly and perform its intended function. Check for alignment of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other conditions that may effect its operation. A guard or other part that is damaged should be properly repaired or replaced.

  4. Disconnect from power supply
    Before servicing, maintaining or replacing damaged parts ALWAYS disconnect the compressor from the power supply.

  5. Avoid dangerous environments
    Do not use the compressor in damp or wet locations or expose it to rain. Keep the work area well lit. Provide adequate surrounding work space.

  6. Avoid accidental starting
    Make sure the power supply is off before connecting to the power supply.

  7. Never leave the compressor running unattended
    Turn the power supply off. Do not leave the compressor until it comes to a complete stop.

  8. Use Recommended Accessories
    Only use the recommended adaptors as supplied.

  9. Overheating
    Operation over an extended period of time will overheat the unit and damage the compressor. When this occurs stop the unit immediately and do not restart until cool, approximately 30 minutes.

  10. Keep children away
    Ensure the compressor is stored out of reach of small children.

  11. Tyre pressure
    The gauge on the compressor is intended as a guide only. Tyre pressures should be regularly checked against a tyre pressure gauge manufactured to BS4613, such as Draper Stock No.26443.

GETTING TO KNOW YOUR MINI AIR COMPRESSOR

  1. Compressor on/off switch.
  2. Light on/off switch.
  3. Pressure gauge.
  4. Light.
  5. Cigar lighter adaptor.
  6. Amber lens.
  7. Needle adaptor.
  8. Plastic adaptor.
  9. Inflating adaptor.
  10. Valve connector.
  11. Cigar lighter adaptor housing.

– UNPACKING: After removing the packing material, make sure the product is in perfect condition and that there are no visible damaged parts. If in doubt, do not use the product and contact the dealer from whom it was purchased.
The packaging materials (plastic bags, polystyrene, etc.), must be disposed of in an appropriate refuse collection container. These materials must not be left within the reach of children as they are potential sources of danger.

OPERATION & USE

– INFLATING TYRES (Figs.1 – 5):

Push the connector A onto the tyre valve with the locking lever B in the released position.

With the connector on the valve, lock it in place by folding down the locking lever B.
NOTE: Listen to ensure no air loss can be heard.

With the on/off switch D in the ‘OFF’ position, plug the cigar lighter adaptor E in to the vehicles cigar lighter socket.
NOTE: Some vehicles may require the ignition to be switched to the ‘ON’ position to power the cigar lighter socket.

Referring to the vehicle data check the correct pressure for tyres.
Turn ‘ON’ the compressor with switch D and check the pressure in the tyre with gauge F. When the pressure is correct. Turn ‘OFF’ the compressor with switch D , unplug the cigar lighter.
Loosen and remove the valve connector as quickly as possible to avoid any air loss.
NOTE: When the compressor is being stored ensure the valve connector lock is in the release position.

– TORCH/WARNING LIGHT (Fig.6):

To turn the light ‘ON’ press switch H to the ‘|’ position.
To turn the emergency light ‘ON’, press switch H to the ‘ || ’ position.
The amber lens is fitted, by removing the holder I.

– FOR INFLATABLES (Fig.7):

Select the suitable adaptor and secure in the valve connector.
Insert the adaptor into the item to be inflated, and begin to inflate.
NOTE: Do not over inflate.

    b. Check plug and socket for tobacco or other obstruction.

  1. Poor connection onto the valve.
  2. Air escaping.

  1. Ensure the adaptor is pushed firmly onto the valve before locking into place.
  2. a. Check the item for leaks.
    b. Ensure hose has no breaks or leaks at the fitting.

Runs slowly.|

  1. Overheating.
  2. Voltage too low.

  1. Unplug from power supply and leave to cool for approx. 30minutes.
  2. Check condition of battery.

DISPOSAL

  • At the end of the machine’s working life, or when it can no longer be repaired, ensure that it is disposed of according to national regulations.
  • Contact your local authority for details of collection schemes in your area.
    In all circumstances:
    • Do not dispose of power tools with domestic waste.
    • Do not incinerate.
    • Do not abandon in the environment.
