Weather station – wiring & configuration
(Version 2206)
Description
The weather station is a robust unit without any moving parts, it measures
temperature, precipitation, relative humidity, wind speed and direction.
Furthermore, is it equipped with a GPS antenna for e.g., time registration /
synchronization.
The weather station is supplied with a 20m connection cable incl. connection
plug, which must be used.
The weather station is used together with Window Master Motor Controllers WCC
3×0 Plus ver. x4 and smoke panels WSC 3×0 Plus ver. E4 and WSC 5xx ver. E2.
WOW 600 is a customized version of the GMX600 from Gill Instruments.
Instructions for the GMX600 can be found on Gill Instruments home pages
http://gillinstruments.com/.
WOW 600 does not detect snow, if snow detection is desired, the purchase of WLA 331 is recommended. For connection of WLA 331, please refer to the WLA 331 instruction manual or the instruction manual for the control panel.
The supplied cable and connector is a customized version and is mandatory for the WOW 600 to function on WindowMaster Motor Controllers / smoke panels.
Mounting
The weather station is mounted with the supplied brackets.
Mounting bracket in anodized aluminium.
The weather station is supplied with mounting bolts in stainless steel and
wall/pole mounting kit, for mounting on a pole with a diameter of 30-58mm
(1.2’’ – 2.3’’).
For best possible measurements, Window Master recommends placing the weather
station at least 2m above the highest point of the building.
- Mount the sensor on to the bracket mount.
- Secure the sensor to its mount using the supplied screws and washers.
- Torque screws to a max of 1.5Nm.
The bracket uses a mounting clamp for attaching to a vertical pipe/pole with a
diameter of 30-58mm. Mount at the top of a pipe/pole to ensure a clear
unobstructed measurement view.
Note: The mounting pipe/pole should first be degreased and when
assembling the bracket clamp the outer clamp nuts need to be tightened evenly
to a torque of 3Nm.
The moving plate part of the clamp needs to be reversed for pipes/poles below
38m diameter. Screw an Earth cable minimum 6mm2 to the bracket chassis using
screw and terminal fixing supplied (see drawing above).
WOW 600 must be aligned towards north, see illustration below.
Wiring
WCC 3×0 Plus and WSC 3×0 Plus panels
WSC 5xx panels
WOW 600 comes with 20m (65’ 7 3/8’’) cable. The cable can be increased to 40m
(131’).
When WOW 600 is connected to a smoke control panel (WSC 3×0 or WSC 5xx), the
supplied cable can be used up to the vapor barrier. After the vapor barrier,
there may be requirements for fireproof cables, so you must ensure that the
installation complies with current national guidelines.
Configuration
When the WOW 600 is connected to the control panel (WCC 3×0 Plus, WSC 3×0 Plus
or WSC 5xx), the panel must be configured to recognize the weather station.
Under “Configuration”, choose the “Weather” menu and under “Sensor type”
select “WOW 600”.
If the weather data of the WOW 600 is shared over “AOnet” or “WSK-Link™”, only
the master panel must be configured like below.
Slaves are configured to either “WOW 600 from AOnet” or “From WSK-Link™”
The control panel has now been configured to use signals/values received from the WOW 600.
