Before use
Please read instructions carefully and completely before using the appliance. Caution: Due to the high power of this steam iron please make sure that your mains supply is sufficient. Please contact your local electric power company to make sure that the so called mains impedance is not higher than 0.350 Ohm.

Intended Use
The appliance must be used only for ironing garments which are suitable for ironing according to the care label. Never iron or dampen garments while wearing them.
(A) Start Ironing
For details refer to fi g.A.
Before starting to iron, follow the garment care label instructions carefully.
Fabrics with this symbol are not ironable.
Note: If you have extremely hard water, we recommend that you use 50 %
tap water and 50 % distilled water. Never use distilled water exclusively.
Do not use condensation water from a tumble dryer.
(B) Steam Options
Continuous steam (normal)
It is suggested for garments like wool, polyester and cotton/linen.
Continuous steam (turbo)
It is suggested for garments that need more powerful steam, like thick
cotton/linen and jeans.
Note: While ironing, do not turn the steam regulator beyond setting «6».
Steam shot
Prior to use, press the steam shot trigger 3 to 4 times to activate it. For a
powerful boost of steam, press the steam shot trigger at intervals of a few
seconds.

(C) Auto Off
For safety reasons and reduction of power consumption, the auto-off function is automatically activated. For details refer to fi g. C.
(D) After Ironing
Let the iron cool down before storing. For details refer to fi g. D.
(E) Descaling
Do not use commercial decalcifi ers, they may damage the iron.
Frequency of descaling depends on the hardness of the water, quantity of steam
used and frequency and duration of ironing sessions. It is a good practice to
run the descaling procedure at least once per month.
For TS 9 only
The steps described under „Preparation“ and „Self clean“ need to be repeated
twice.

Note: The iron must never be used without steam regulator.

Before cleaning, always make sure that the iron has cooled down completely. For details refer to fi g. F.

Water droplets drip on the fabric during ironing| Press the water tank lid and
check if it is closed
Check that the temperature selector is at least on ••. Select a higher
temperature setting. Take longer intervals when pressing the steam shot

If chemicals have been put into the water tank, empty the water tank, rinse it
2-3 times.
The iron produces little or no steam| Check water level and refill tank
Perform descaling procedure
Check that the temperature selector is at least on ••.| Wait until the iron
heats up and the temperature control LED is permanently ON.
Flakes and white impurities come out of the soleplate during ironing| Perform
the descaling procedure
The spray function or the steam shot do not work properly| Refill the water
tank
Soleplate is not heating up| Unplug the iron and plug in again. Rotate the
temperature selector from fimini, to amax•. Then select the desired
temperature.| n/a
The temperature control LED turns permanently on| n/a| Unplug the iron and
plug in again. If the problem does not disappear contact the Braun customer
service.
