IMPORTANT! KEEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE USE. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE ASSEMBLING AND USING THE SOFT CARRIER.
PLEASE REFER TO THESE PARTS WHEN READING THE INSTRUCTIONS
FRONT
HARNESS
CARRYING YOUR NEWBORN BABY
1. Put on the harness. The BABYBJÖRN logo should be on your left side.| 2.
Adjust the back cross so it sits just below your shoulder blades for maximum
comfort.
---|---
|
3. Check that the size adjustment is set to the smallest size, 21″ (53cm), to
fit your newborn.| 4. Fasten the harness to the front of the baby carrier by
locking the double buckle. Each side is locked when you hear a click.
|
5. Fasten the side latch on one side by inserting the hook into the slot.
Check that it is firmly locked. Slightly tighten the shoulder straps.| 6.
Place the child in the baby carrier facing you.
Each leg should be on its respective side of the baby carrier front, and the
child’s arms should be placed through the armholes.
|
7. Fasten the side latch on the other side by inserting the hook into the
slot.| 8. Fasten the head support buckle on both sides.
Place your thumb behind the head support knob on the harness. Click into
place! You can adjust the head support by carefully pulling on the head
support straps. Always make sure there is enough room around your baby’s face
to provide a clear source of air.
|
9. Fasten the leg straps on both sides. The leg straps must be used for
children between 7 and 10 lbs (3.2 and 4.5 kg) in order to reduce the size of
the leg openings.| 10. Adjust the shoulder straps one at a time while lifting
your child and adjusting the leg position. You should carry your child so
close and high up that you can kiss the top
of their head. Finally, check that the back cross is centered just below your
shoulder blades.
|
REMOVING YOUR CHILD/TAKING THE BABY CARRIER OFF
Make sure you hold onto your child throughout the entire movement!
- Start by unfastening the leg straps if they are being used. Then unfasten the head support on both sides. Place your thumb and index finger on either side of the knob. Press and lift off.
- Unfasten the side latch on one side. Place your thumb on the grooved marking on the colored back of the hook. Press and pull upwards. You can now lift the child out. If your child is asleep, open the side latches on both sides to open the front completely.
- Unfasten the double buckle.
CARRYING YOUR OLDER BABY
We recommend carrying your child facing inwards at least up until the age of
five months. Around that time, your child’s neck, spine and hips will be
strong enough for you to use either the facinginward or the facing-outward
position.
I. Adjust the baby carrier to your child’s approximate length. Read the length
from the bottom of the buckle and adjust it by wiggling the buckle.
II. When carrying your child facing outward, make sure you fold down the head
support. Please also keep in mind that a younger baby’s arms should be through
the armholes, but an older baby’s arms can be above the folded-down head
support.
