Friendly Tips

  1. A 32GB TF memory card is included with the camcorder along with an SD card adapter to allow you to insert your card into your camera. The camcorder supports TF and SD memory cards up to 128GB. For best results we recommend using abranded u3 SD/SDHC card which is required to be formatted in the camcorder before first time use.
  2. This camcorder is powered by one lithium battery. Please install the battery correctly before using the camera for the first time, otherwise the camera will not charge and will not boot.

WARNING
To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock,

  1. Do not expose the unit to rain or moisture.
  2. Do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on the apparatus.
    • Do not expose the batteries to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.
    • Do not ingest the battery, as it is a chemical burn hazard.
    • The remote control requires two AAA batteries.
    • If swallowed, batteries can cause severe internal burns.
    • Keep new and used batteries away from children. If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from children.
    • If you think batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of body, seek immediate medical attention.

CAUTION
If the battery is mishandled, the battery pack can burst, cause a fire or even chemical burns. Observe the following cautions.

  • Do not disassemble.
  • Do not crush and do not expose the battery pack to any shock or force such as hammering, dropping or stepping on it.
  • Do not short circuit and do not allow metal objects to come into contact with the battery terminals.
  • Do not expose to high temperature above 60°C (140°F) such as in direct sunlight or in a car parked in the sun.
  • Do not incinerate or dispose of in fire.
  • Do not handle damaged or leaking lithium ion batteries.
  • Keep the battery pack out of the reach of small children.
  • Keep the battery pack dry.
  • Replace the battery with the specified type only. Otherwise, bursting, fire or injury may result. Dispose of used batteries according to the rules and laws of your municipalities.

About the camera

System requirement
Users can transfer videos and photos to computers with the following configurations: Intel Pentium 2.0GHz or higher/ Microsoft Windows XP or higher operating system 2GB RAM 40GB above available disk memory/ Standard USB interface / 1GB GPU or higher 1920×1080 pixels or higher resolution.

Remote Controller
Users can control the camcorder by remote controller . The remote control can accomplish the below actions:polaroid-4k-digital-camcorder-

Notes

  • The remote controller can be used at a distance of approximately 10 meters.
  • The remote takes 2 AAA batteries. Put batteries in with the correct polarity(+,-). Do not mix old and new batteries or different types of batteries.

Charging the battery

  1. Power off your camcorder, open the battery cover and insert the battery in the direction as shown in the picture below, then close the battery cover.
  2. You can use the supplied USB cable to charge your camcorder via an adapter (5V/1AN5V/2A) or connect to your PC directly.

Note:

  • The charging indicator illuminates while the battery is charging.
  • The charging indicator light turns off automatically when the battery is fully charged. Normally it takes approximately 2-3 hours to fully charge the battery.

When the battery is fully charged, the battery life is approximately 90 minutes for recording.

Power on /off the camcorder

You can also power on the camcorder by pressing the Power/Light button
To power off the camcorder, close the touch screen or hold and press the Power/Light button for approximately 3 seconds.

Note:
It takes 5 seconds to power on/off the camcorder by opening the touch screen. If you open/close the touch screen twice during this reaction time, it may cause the camcorder not to power on/off properly. Please wait for the camcorder to complete the power on/off procedure before using it again.

Set the language

  • Once your camcorder is powered on, press the MENU button to enter the settings menu.
  • In the setting menu, use the up or down arrow buttons and press the Mode/OK button to choose settings options.
  • Press the up or down arrow buttons repeatedly until Language is selected. Press the Mode/OK button to choose the language menu. In the language menu, use the arrow buttons to select a language and press Mode/OK to confirm your selection.polaroid-4k-digital-camcorder-fig-7

Insert and format the memory card

  • u3 or higher speed memory card is recommended for normal use.
  1. Open the battery cover, and insert the memory card until a “click” sound is heard.polaroid-4k-digital-camcorder-fig-8
  2. To remove the memory card, open the cover and push the memory card inward slightly and it will automatically pop out.

Format the memory card

  • Once your camcorder is powered on, press the MENU button to enter the settings menu.
  • In the setting menu, use the up or down arrow buttons and press the Mode/OK button to choose settings options.
  • Press the up or down arrow buttons repeatedly until Format is selected. Press the Mode/OK button to choose the format menu. In the format menu, use the arrow buttons to select Format or Cancel and press Mode/OK to confirm your selection.polaroid-4k-digital-camcorder-fig-10

Note:
If the memory card is not native format, the screen will display the following message: “Card error … “. Please format the memory card as outlined above. Formatting the memory card will erase all the data stored on it and the data will be irrecoverable. It is recommended to save your important data to your computer before formatting.

Take a video

After powering on the camcorder, Video Capture Mode, the default mode, is active. The camcorder records movies and saves them onto the memory card. The default video size is 4K@30fps. To record a video, after powering on the camcorder, press the REC/Stop button to begin recording.polaroid-4k-digital-

Take a photo

After powering on the camcorder, press the Mode/OK button to switch to enter the Mode select menu. Then press the up/down arrows repeatedly until Photo Mode is selected and press Mode/OK to select. . Press the shutter button lightly to adjust the focus, then press it fully to take a photo.

Note: The camcorder can not take a photo while in Video Mode.

Playback

Playback on TV

  1. Connect the HDMI OUT of the camcorder to the HDMI IN jack of a TV using the supplied HDMI cable.polaroid-4k-digital-camcorder-fig-16
  2. Set the TV input to HDMI in.
  3. Playback images on the camcorder.

Connect to computer

Connect the camcorder to a computer to transfer your captured images to your computer. The camcorder can also be used as a PC camera.

  1. Connect the Mini USB port of the camcorder and the USB port of the computer using the supplied USB cable.
  2. Power on the camcorder. The screen displays the following options as shown below.

Press the Up/Down button to choose “Mass storage” or “PC Camera”. Then press the Mode/OK to confirm the setting.

Transfer files:
Select “Mass storage”. The computer displays the memory card disk of the camera. You can then transfer these files from the memory card to your computer.

PC Camera:
After selecting “PC Camera”, open the computer’s camera program and select USB camera. The real-time images captured by the camera will be displayed on the computer.

Connect to the DV King 4K app

Use your camcorder’s built-in Wi-Fi functionality to download photos or video from the camcorder to your smartphone.

Download the app
Search for “DV King 4K” on Google Play (Android) or on Apple App Store (iOS) to download the app. The app is can also be downloaded by scanning the following QR code:polaroid-4k-digital-camcorder-fig-17

  • Android 6.0 or higher is required
  •  iOS 8.0 or higher is required

Connect to the camcorder’s Wi-Fi network
Note: The camcorder’s Wi-Fi cannot be used to access on-line social networks. It is only for your smartphone’s access to the camcorder.polaroid-

Once your camcorder is powered on, press the MENU button to enter the settings menu. In the setting menu, use the up or down arrow buttons and press the Mode/OK button to choose settings Options.  Press the up or down arrow buttons repeatedly until Wi-Fi is selected. Press the Mode/OK button to turn Wi-Fi on. The following information displays on your camcorder’s screen:

  • Wi-Fi ID: 4K_WIFI
  • WI-Fl pwd: 12345678

Press UP to turn off WIFI Go to your phone’s settings menu, and make sure that Wi-Fi is turned on. Connect to the network named “4K_WIFI” and if prompted, enter a password of 12345678 Once connected, open the DV King 4K app to download photos or videos. Note that 4K videos may be too large in many instances to download over a Wi-Fi connection.

IMPORTANT NOTE: When using the DV King 4K app, you may be asked if you would like the app to automatically connect to your Wi-Fi network each time you run the application. Choose Yes when prompted, as failure to do so may cause difficulty when connecting to your camera’s Wi-Fi.

Accessing Menus

  • Select a menu option with the Up/Down button, then press the Mode/ OK button to open the sub-menu.polaroid-4k-digital-camcorder-fig-20
  • Press the Up/Down button to select a desired menu item and then press the Mode/OK button to confirm your selection.
  • Press the Menu/Wi-Fi button to return to the previous menu.

Accessing the Mode Menu
After powering on the camcorder, press the Mode/OK button to go to the Mode Menu. You can switch between different camera and camcorder modes using the mode menu. Use the arrow buttons to highlight a mode of your choice and press the Mode/OK button to select that mode.polaroid-4k-digital-camcorder-

Recordable time of videos
The following data shows the approximate maximum recording time based on different video resolution and capacity of the memory card. Recordable time may vary depending on shooting conditions and the different type of memory card.polaroid-4k-digital-camcorder-fig-24

Note:

  • If the video size exceeds 4GB while recording, the camcorder automatically divides the file and creates a new one. This is a fundamental limit of all FAT file systems. The maximum allowed file size on a FAT volume is 4GB. This restriction ensures that the video can be played on the computer.
