Low Battery Notification
- FlashQ Transmitter : During power-ON, press Power button once, blinking RED indicates low-battery and needs a recharge.
- M20 Main Body : A low-battery icon shows up on the display. And flash / video light may get suspended. This needs a recharge / battery replacement.
Charging FlashQ Transmitter
- Charge FlashQ Transmitter (with built-in Li-ion battery) by connecting it to a computer or other USB power adapter using the included USB cable.
- The Status indicator on Transmitter is in RED during charging and turns GREEN when charging is complete.
- Take round 1.5 hours to fully charge the Transmitter.
WARNING:
The included USB charging cable is for charging FlashQ M20 / Transmitter / Receiver only. Total power rating (two micro-USB outputs) is at 5V 800mA.
Charging FlashQ M20
Highly recommend to use rechargeable Ni-MH batteries for FlashQ M20 for quick recycling time and convenience of USB charging capability.

Charge FlashQ M20 (with rechargeable Ni-MH batteries installed) by connecting to a computer or other USB power adapter using the included USB cable.

The USB Charging Indicator is in ORANGE during charging and turns GREEN when charging is complete.

Take around 4.5 hours to fully charge two 2500mAh Ni-MH batteries with FlashQ M20.
WARNING:- FlashQ M20 also accepts two non-rechargeable AA-size alkaline batteries, but
- DO NOT attempt to recharge the alkaline batteries using USB charging.
- Battery may leak or explode if improperly handled.
- Make certain to install the batteries with correct polarity.
- Remove the batteries from FlashQ M20 when not in use for a prolonged period.
- Single AA-size battery cell cannot exceed 1.5V. The use of high-voltage lithium batteries is prohibited.

Safety Warnings and Cautions
- The photoflash (Xenon flash tube) outputs high power light energy. Avoid direct eye exposure.
- Caution hot around the flash tube window and video light window during use.
- Do not expose the product to rain or moisture.
- The product contains small parts. Keep out of reach of small children to prevent accidental swallowing.
- Do not disassemble. Electric shock may occur if high voltage circuit inside the product is touched.

Using FlashQ Transmitter

Press the Power button for 2 seconds to turn on / off FlashQ Transmitter, vice versa. Special LED blink pattern indicates POWER ON.
FlashQ Transmitter blinks GREEN every 4 sec. when it is ON. FlashQ Transmitter blinks ORANGE every 4 sec. when mounted on and recognized a compatible camera (TTL). -
On FlashQ Transmitter, press either one button to remote control M20’s flash power ratio / video light level /Flash Exposure Compensation (FEC).

On FlashQ Transmitter, press the Test button for 2 seconds to have pilot test (remote trigger M20 to fire).
Notes:
- FlashQ Transmitter goes Auto Power OFF after 30 minutes idle.
- To disable Auto Power OFF, press and hold the Power button for 5 seconds to turn on FlashQ Transmitter.
Manual Mode
- Turn on FlashQ M20 and Transmitter.
- Toggle the MODE button to set M20 in Manual mode.
- Toggle the buttons to adjust the flash power ratio.
- If necessary, press the TEST button for a pilot test. (Ensure the button in SOLID GREEN before press)
- On FlashQ Transmitter, press either one button to remote control the flash power ratio. And FlashQ Transmitter can trigger the M20 remotely.
S2 Mode
- Turn on FlashQ M20 and Transmitter.
- Toggle the MODE button to set M20 in 52 mode.
- Toggle the buttons to adjust the flash power ratio.
- If necessary, press the TEST button for a pilot test. (Ensure the button in SOLID GREEN before press)
- On FlashQ Transmitter, press either one button to remote control the flash power level. In this mode, FlashQ Transmitter cannot trigger the M20 remotely. In 52 mode, FlashQ M20 synchronizes to the digital / TTL flash system. The master flash fires a pre-flash (for TTL metering / red eye reduction) and then a main flash. FlashQ M20 (in 52 mode) can ignore the pre-flash, and synchronizes to the main flash.
Modeling Mode
(Video light always ON for modeling purpose. Both Flash and Video light turn ON during fire triggering.)
- Turn on FlashQ M20 and Transmitter.
- Toggle the MODE button to set M20 in Modeling mode.
- Toggle the 0 / E) buttons to adjust the flash power ratio.
- Toggle the O O buttons to adjust the modeling light level.
- If necessary, press the TEST button for a pilot test. (Ensure the button in SOLID GREEN before press)
- On FlashQ Transmitter, press either one button to remote control the flash power level. And FlashQ Transmitter can trigger the M20 remotely.
Flash Length Range
Wireless TTL Mode
- Turn on FlashQ M20 and Transmitter.
- Toggle the MODE button to set M20 in TTL mode.
- Attach FlashQ Transmitter onto a compatible camera’s shoe mount. Ensure that the camera enables and recognizes the external flash. (check with Product Manual of the camera)
- Toggle the buttons to adjust the Flash Exposure Compensation (FEC).
- Press the shutter release button of camera to take photo.
- If necessary, press the TEST button for a pilot test. (Ensure the button in SOLID GREEN before press)
- On FlashQ Transmitter, press either one button to remote control the Flash Exposure Compensation (FEC). And FlashQ Transmitter can trigger the M20 remotely.
S1 Mode
- Turn on FlashQ M20 and Transmitter.
- Toggle the MODE button to set M20 in 51 mode.
- Toggle the buttons to adjust the flash power ratio.
- If necessary, press the TEST button for a pilot test. (Ensure the button in SOLID GREEN before press)
- On FlashQ Transmitter, press either one button to remote control the flash power ratio. In this mode, FlashQ Transmitter cannot trigger the M20 remotely.
In S 1 mode, FlashQ M20 synchronizes to the traditional single flash system (common in film camera). FlashQ M20 just synchronizes to the first flash.
Video Light Mode
- Turn on FlashQ M20 and Transmitter.
- Toggle the MODE button to set M20 in Video Light mode.
- Toggle the buttons to adjust the video light level.
- Toggle the buttons to adjust the colour temperature of video light.
- On FlashQ Transmitter, press either one button to remote control the video light level.
Pairing Up FlashQ M20 and Transmitter
(For proper wireless TTL functionality, FlashQ M20 supports one-to-one pairing only.)
- Turn on FlashQ M20 and Transmitter.
- On FlashQ Transmitter, hold both buttons for 3 seconds to enter Pairing Mode (blinking BLUE).
- On M20 main body, hold the button , for 3 seconds to enter Pairing Mode
- The system goes pairing and selects a new clear channel automatically.
- When pairing gets success, M20 Main Body quits Pairing mode and back to the operation mode automatically.
Finally press either one button on FlashQ Transmitter to complete the pairing.
