Use

Rehabilitation supports are an ancillary equipment to facilitate tilting and moving of patients with different types of motor disorders. They can be used as an aid for patients after surgery (lower limbs) who are unable to use crutches, showing no coordination disorders, patients with mild dysfunction of the lower limbs or weakness. They are used in patients with in patients with impaired balance preventing them from independent vertical position and locomotion, as well as various types of circulatory dysfunction (e.g. intermittent claudication). Supports can also be used as an aid for geriatric patients. Contraindications to the upright position, injuries and dysfunctions of upper limbs preventing the patient from supporting themselves, impaired coordination and perception.

Usage

  • The product is packed in folder position.
  • After unpacking the package, check if it containsall parts in accordance with the list of elementsset out above.
  • Ensure that all components have no visibledamage. If any doubts, please contact themanufacturer.
  • Do not use the rollator until all parts are properlyconnected.
  • Installation – Please refer to illustration 1.

  • In the holes of the side frames should be mountedhandle (Illustration 8). From the inside side offrame, should put the screw, while from the outerside, should put pad and then tighten the knob
  • Then pull the lower part of the frame to which is attached wheel, to the point where you will hear click of the latch on both side of rollator

  • Before connecting the basket to the rollator mustbe dismantled basket as shown on illustration 4
  • Hooks for fixing must be attached to the rollatorside frames under knobs.
  • Then on the basket, should place the tray
  • In order to submit the rollator, shouldproceed in reverse order
  • Before using the rollator, refer to this manual andkeep it for future reference.
  • At standstill and the use of seat should apply thelocking rotation of the wheels both rear wheels.
  • The stand will not replace the wheelchair, the seat isused only for temporary resting or transport thepatient on a short distance.
  • The rollator is used only to provide rest to one user.Do not stand on it.
  • The rollator should be used on even surfaces at anincline less than 5 %.
  • With the rollator you can only use on surfaces whereall four wheels touching the ground are to use all offour wheels.
  • Use of the product on the icy, wet, greasy, stronglygritty surfaces is unacceptable – it creates a risk offalling.
  • Before each use of this product: -Perform visual inspection of all structural componentsof the product.
  • Check the operation of the braking system. Squeeze the brake handles to see if the brake pads are fitproperly to wheels and are able to stop rollator. Pressthe handles down to activate the parking brake andcheck if it works properly.
  • Carefully check the stability and condition of thesupport frame.
  • Do not use the support in the event of any visible orperceptible damage (e.g. cracks in the frame). It maycause an accident.
  • The rollator is designed for users with a maximumweight of 120kg.
  • Maximum weight that can be moved in the bag:5kg.
  • Do not leave the stroller with the user close to opensources of fire.
  • Be aware that the surface temperature of theupholstery and the frame parts may be increased afterexposure to the sun or other heat source. Furthermore,with low temperatures there is a danger of overcoolingmetal parts of stroller. It may cause burns or frostbiteparts of the body.
  • All repairs must be carried out by qualified personnel.And during the warranty period only by themanufacturer’s service.
  • Do not exceed the maximum height of the handles topush, rollator will lose stability.
  • Push the rollator with both hands simultaneously inthe direction of travel.
  • Before using, make sure that all screws are tight.
  • Make sure that the lock used to folding and unfoldingthat product work properly.
  • Due to the possibility of jamming the fingers putextreme caution in the area of horizontal hinge strut,fold-out footrest and side frame hinge.

Everyday use and maintenance

HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT HANDLES

  • Handles should be located at a height that willprovide comfort and a sense of security forthe user. It is important to ensure that bothhands are positioned at the same height.
  • To change the height of the handles unscrewthe knob for fixing handles, remove washers,the screws and depending on the needs extendor shorten the frame handles.
  • After adjusting the appropriate height put thescrew on the inner side of the side frame,while the outer side on the screw put pad, andthen tighten the knob. (Illustration 8 and 9.)
  • Make sure that the handle is properlytightened, so that it prevents movement of thehandles.

FOLDING

  • In order to fold rollator for ease of transport, you must first block rotation of the wheels
  • Then it is necessary to remove the tray, basket for small items and emptied a bag for small items

UNFOLD

  • To unfold rollator slide outward side frames,then lock the levels hinge of stretcher.
  • Before each use, check the operation of thebraking system. Squeeze the brake handles tocheck if the brake pads are right adherewheels and stop the rollator.
  • Press the handle down to activate the locking rotation of the wheels and check if it worksproperly

BREAK FORCE ADJUSTMENT

  • To adjust the brake, first, loosen a nutlocated above an adjusting bolt of the brakejust over the wheelThen turn the adjusting bolt anticlockwise tilla proper brake force is achieved.MEYRA-VCBK52211-3-Wheel-ROLLATOR-fig-11
  • When the brake force is adjusted, tighten thenut.
  • After adjusting the braking force, it isimportant to check the operation of thebraking system.
  • Make squeeze the brake handle to checkthat the brake pads properly adhere and areable to stop rollator. Then pull the handlesdown to apply the parking brake and check ifit works properly.

BRAKE SYSTEM

  • The rollator is equipped with multi-functionalbrake. The brake handle is located under therollator handle. It can operate as a standardbrake as well as parking brake.
  • To use the standard brake, lift up the brakehandle.
  • To use a parking brake, push down the brakehandle to the point where you can hear thedistinctive sound of inclusion brake (Youshould use in that same time both right andleft brake).
  • To unlock the parking brake, lift up the brakehandle back into the basic position.

OVERCOMING OBSTACLES (THRESHOLD, CURBS)

  • In order to drive the rollator onto the thresholdor curb should set the rollator perpendicularlyto the edge of the obstacle. Holding the handle,tilt the rollator in rear raise the front wheels up.
  • Then drive the rear wheels to the edge of theobstacle and holding the rollator handle, liftslightly up and enter rollator on the obstacle

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

  • Clean the frame with a damp cloth, clean theseat with damp cloth with mild detergent.
  • Remove all soiling from the movablecomponents of the support (wheels, clampingscrews, locks).
  • In order to maintain the walker’s parameters, itis very important to keep all elements clean andstored properly. Storing the walker in dampplaces (baths, laundry rooms, etc.) or outdoors,combined with lack of hygiene will quicklydegrade the performance and aesthetic of therollator.
  • Do not expose the rollator on to extremeweather conditions (rain, snow very strongsun), because certain parts can change color.

You must not use

  • solvents,
  • toilet detergents,
  • sharp brushes and hard objects
  • detergents that contain chlorine
  • corrosive detergents.

Do not clean the rollator with pressure or steam aggregates!

TECHNICAL REVIEW

The review should be carried out regularly, it should be preceded by thorough cleaning the rollator (so as to reveal any hidden damage).
