Installation instructions

To secure a proper function of the device read this manual carefully and follow all installation instructions.

1. Insert the circular plug of the WIFI CONTROL into the multi-functional input (Control Input) of the DSP product.

2. Connect the ground wire of the connection cable (Ground / brown) to a ground terminal of the vehicle or ground connector of a DSP / amplifier.

3. Connect the permanent +12 V wire of the connection cable (orange) to a +12 V source.
   Attention: Check the polarity prior to the installation in order to prevent damages of the WIFI CONTROL and / or DSP / amplifier / battery or other equipment.

4. Optional: Connect the separately available remote control URC.3 to the WIFI CONTROL`s Mini DIN connector.
   Note: The remote control DIRECTOR is not compatible with the WIFI CONTROL.

Configuring the WIFI CONTROL

After the first start-up the operating mode (AP- or Client-Mode) needs to be configured. Therefore the WIFI CONTROL is initially setup in Config Mode and opens an own WiFi network. The Config-Mode can also be activated by pushing the reset pushbutton for 5 seconds.

1. Start your sound system.
2. Open the WiFi menu of your PC / Tablet / Smartphone and establish a connection to the network “WIFI CONTROL Config”
3. Download the WIFI CONTROL app (as of iOS 11 and Android 7) from the App Store or Google Play to your mobile device and install it. After the installation process has been successfully completed, start the app. Alternatively open your web browser and enter “192.168.4.1” in the address bar. The Web-App of the WIFI CONTROL will open up.
4. Configure the WIFI CONTROL as access point (AP-Mode / recommended configuration) or as client (Client-Mode).

AP-Mode: The WIFI CONTROL opens up its own WiFi network in AP-Mode. This mode lets you access the DSP anywhere and anytime. Proceed as follows:

1. Specify a name for the network in the SSID input field.
2. Set a password and save the settings by clicking on the “Save” button.
3. Reopen the WiFi menu of your PC / tablet / smartphone and connect to the newly created network. Now you are able to configure and control your DSP product via the WIFI CONTROL.

Client-Mode: In client mode the WIFI CONTROL connects to an existing WiFi network. This mode allows you to connect the configured WIFI CONTROL to any DSP within the range of your existing WiFi. Proceed as follows:

1. Select the network from the “SSID” drop-down list in which the WIFI CONTROL should be integrated.
2. Enter the password of the network.
3. Complete the configuration process by clicking on the “Save” button. The WIFI CONTROL now always automatically connects to the selected network.

Connecting the DSP PC-Tool

1. Start the DSP PC-Tool software (as of version 4.50)

2. Toggle the button to “WIFI” which is displayed in the launcher.
   The software now automatically detects the device which is connected to the WIFI CONTROL. Important: The computer and the WIFI CONTROL needs to be in the same network.

3. Select the device which should be configured and click the “Connect Button”. You can now start your configuration.

Starting the remote control function

Note: The remote control feature is only available for devices with ACO platform. To activate the remote control function select the “WIFI CONTROL” option in the remote control adjustments of the DSP PC-Tool.

1. Connect your PC / Tablet / Smartphone to the network of the WIFI CONTROL (name and password as determined during the WIFI CONTROL`s configuration process).
2. Start your WIFI CONTROL app. Alternatively start your web browser and open the web site “192.168.4.1”. You can now remotely control your device.

Reset pushbutton

If the button is pressed for 5 seconds the WIFI CONTROL activates its Config Mode. Pressing the button longer than 10 seconds will reset the unit.
